Is a AAA discount for a 1-day hopper available at the gate? And, can the DL Hotel desk sell me a ticket when I check in?

I believe to get the AAA discount you have to purchase your ticket from them directly.

To get AAA discounted tickets you have to buy in advance either online or at your AAA office. I think the online prices may only match Disneyland's own online prices. I don't know what prices are like at the office. I do remember AAA offering free parking with their tickets, so you might want to check if that's still a perk since that will save you money if you need parking. I could be wrong, but I didn't think that AAA sells discounted 1-day tickets though. From what I've heard, those are hard to find anywhere.

Yes but they include parking. I thing they only have the multi-day passes.

Just like people previously said, AAA tickets are the same price as buying through Disney's website. You do recieve free parking though.
We just bought 2-day park hoppers in August through AAA & got the free parking thing. We didn't know it came with this 'perk' because we were planning on walking or taking ART to the park, but it was still a nice bonus, just incase!
