AAA discount

My sister is a AAA member. Can she make the reservation for us if she isn't going?

They are SUPPOSED to ask to see your AAA card at check in....doesn't happen very often for my experience, but if they do and you don't have it....you'll be paying rack rate.

You might do some number crunching to see if purchasing the membership would still save you money.....around here an individual membership is under $50.....and besides the Disney discounts there are a LOT of other places you can get discount (not just vacation things either). Payless Shoe Source is one of them that we use quite a bit....lots of local restaurants offer a discount.....our mechanic, etc. Plus of course all those great maps and free towing and flat repair, etc.

If your AAA discount will be more than $50, then it would be worth it to get the membership simply for the discount.

My parents paid for one of our trips to DW and they booked thru AAA. They did not go with us. We had no problem at check in and showed our vouchers. No one asked for a card and our TA said that since they paid and they are the members, there wouldn't be a problem.

We had an AAA rate at ASMu last year and they asked for our card at check-in.

I've booked at several hotels using my AAA discount and I don't think I've ever had a check-in person ask for my AAA. That said, I'd be too afraid that the one time I bent the rules a little bit, would be the one time I was asked for it. I think our AAA membership is $69/yr. That's for both of us to have roadside assistance, so if you only want the travel discounts, you'd just need to have membership for one person that that's around $45 or so. Considering I've seen discounts of $80+/night depending on resort and date of check-in, I think AAA is definitely worth the money spent.

I booked a AAA trip for my brother and his family last year with my AAA agent. I was able to do it with his AAA number, even though he wasn't there.

The last time we checked in to the Beach club they wanted to see my AAA card.

AAA is so cheap and so worth the membership fee, why don't they just join?

My AAA number was on the info. I had to show my card at the hotel I stayed at before we flew out in the morning and I think the young lady was more worried about an item she couldn't find for us that she got sidetracked to look at it at the resort:)
