Is it possible to get a AAA discount on a room-only reservation or do they only do it with packages? Does a AAA representative have to be the person to make the reservation or can we call WDW & provide our AAA number?
For room-only, you can check AAA discount availabilty yourself by calling Disney reservations.
If you want to make it a package -- dining/tickets -- that has to be done through a AAA travel agent.
Know that there are only a certain number of AAA discount rooms available for any given time at any given resort. So, you may or may not find a discount for your time/resort. That doesn't mean there isn't a AAA discount, just that the allotted number has already been reached.
Yes you can use your AAA discount on room only and you can call WDW direct. Depending on what season you are going it's anywhere from 15% to 20% discount.
I just transferred my Disney-made reservations (one was room only, the other was room and park passes) to a local CAA (Canadian Auto Club, same as AAA). I received a 10% discount across the board.
I do room only all the time. Save between 10-15%. I book through Disney. There is a limited number of rooms blocked off for this discount, so I would recommend booking ASAP.
