AAA Discount vs. Free Dining

I already have our room booked. We rented points from a DVC member.
Does AAA do a discount just for theme park tickets?
Thanks.

. We are flying, so preferred parking didn't apply.

Do you get preferred parking with aaa membership at parks/hotels/??

I am considering a aaa membership, what other benefits are there besides room discounts? Trying to decide if it is worth it?

The rate for a basic membership is about $58, are there any special promotions out there and does a basic membership qualify you for disney discounts? Sorry for so many questions...

This is a bit of a vent regarding AAA services. We get AAA strictly for towing . You can find good discounts on mouse savers.we have a premire ($100+) membership which will tow you 200 miles anywhere you need.Important on a 900mile trip and my DH business trips. They are the only service to offer extened towing or we would have stuck with our verizon service.

We have been members on/off for more than 20yrs and rejoined last year for our WDW trip and I can honestly say the services have become abismal. We needed some paperwork noterized and after several failed attemps we gave up.Our trip tick last year was obviously just stock..no more warnings about construction. Basic online maps were better. We were not given some of the maps/books we requested (we traveled through 5 states) becuase they limited how many we could have, yet they could see we NEEDED all of that info.I think for $100 I should be able to get 4 maps. No offence to the AAA ta here who may be excellent but, if you check the dinning reservation boards you will find great frustration from aaa members who could not get assistance with reservations for CRT or anything special because the Ta's did not call on weekends or before 9-10 am when all ressies for those things were gone and were not told until after they booked the hotel reservation. I even had a conversation with cm in reservations who says she hears a lot of comlplaints and misinformation from AAA clients.I use a company who only does WDW trips and it has paid in spades to have good sevice. I even got an illuminations boat last year and there are only 5!!! IMHO AAA good for towing not trip planning or anything else. It's a shame they were great.

Basic membership does qualify you for all discount and services except extended towing. At least it did last spring when we joined.

Well, I will be one to stand up for AAA. The agent I have used on my last couple trips was fantastic. She offered, but I did not have her do any adrs-how would she know if 6-8 isn't available at XYZ, we'd prefer ABC? That's a decision I can make on the fly, and with all the money and time I'm sinking into a Disney vacation, what difference does another 30 or 45 mintues make? I have gotten all of the reservations I wanted, during FD. Speaking only for my agent, she was quick to respond, knowledgable, helpful and friendly.

I have booked through Disney, and I have booked through AAA. I have found the service to be a wash, so if the AAA quote comes in cheaper than the Disney one, I'll go with it, and if not...I won't.

I'm so glad you had a good experience with AAA. I'm sure the TA that posted here is fine too. Unfortunatly that does not seem to be the case at my local AAA or many others across the country. I just wanted other DIS'ers to be aware of the potential problems. I did not book with Disney but with Small world travel. I figured if it was good enough for the unofficial guide I should consider them. With online reservations I too booked online for my next trips ADR's because I wanted the flexability to change ressies as needed if one of my important ones fell through. Many people still have slow connection speeds or are intimidated by the new system. For these folks a great TA is a must.No matter where they work.
