AAA discount question

This may have been asked before but does anyone know what the percentage off room only rates is for AAA.

My 2008 book says Values and Moderates 10% to 20%; Deluxe Villas 10% to 20%; Deluxe and FW cabins 10% to 15%; and Campground 10% to 20% of course this is broken down in each of those categories by dates. Also Swan and Dolphin are 35% room portion year round.

After reading this, we checked into it and if we booked through AAA we would save enough to extend our trip from 7 to 8 days at no additional cost (room at CS and DDP for 4). Not a bad deal at all for the $50 it costs to join.

It is 10% for all resort levels and it states "for most nights"

scootch, the discount for Oct 24-30 for Moderate is 15%

blshipmm, that time falls in both Peak and Regular season and the discount is between 10% and 15%

This might help with all of you who have specific date questions for AAA

AAA Discounts at up to 20% off your resort accommodations can be a big savings. BUT you have to know how to take advantage of them. I'm stealing this from another post I just answered on the main board.

1. Don't expect any AAA discounts to be substantial in December. Disney limits the total number of AAA rooms for any given date AND during their most expensive season "Holiday" which is around Christmas, my understand is they offer NO AAA discounted rooms.
   
   [*]The amount of AAA discount varies by room type (value, mod, deluxe) and by the 'rate season' (Value, Regular, Peak, Summer, Holiday etc). You can save as much as 20% but you have to plan your trip accordingly and book EARLY to get that AAA discounted room.
   
   [*]You may notice no rate difference because there are simply no AAA discounted rooms available. Most AAA agents won't tell you this because they still want the booking. As with everything - Caveot Emptor - buyer beware; do your research.

How do you know what the AAA discount is for what time of year?

• Value Season up to 15% off at Deluxe & Vacation Club OR 20% off at Values and Mods & the Ft. Wild. campsites.
• Regular Season up to 10% off at Deluxe & Vacation Club resorts OR 15% off at Value and Mods and the Ft. Wild. campsites.
• Peak and Summer season up to 10% off Deluxe & Vacation Club OR 15% off at Value and Mods and the Ft. Wild. campsites.
• No AAA Discounts during the Holiday season

A complete list of seasons and dates those seasons apply to what level of lodging is available here on the DIS.

You have to be SURE you got the AAA discount .. do your homework, know what the package will cost without the discount. And if you can, travel during one of the seasons with the higher discounts.
