Is the AAA discount on room only, or can you get a better discount on the package plus dining? I'm trying to figure out how I can spend 5 or six nights at a mod for around $2000. I'm hoping to include dining, but if it's too expensive,I guess we'll eat a lot of CS meals. I'm already a AAA member. It's DH, me and DDs 3 and 6. Help. Please.

You can get a AAA discount off room only through Disney or any travel agent. If you want both the discount AND the package w/dining, you must book directly with a AAA travel agency.

If you're interested in the dining, I think it's worth the effort of booking through AAA to get the discount, too.

What dates are you looking at?

as a AAA member, I think, and God knows I'm no expert!, the discount ,if you book thru AAA, is on the package not just the room. I got a quote for value season at CS for family of 4, 8 days/7 night, 6 day park hoppers, no dining plan, of $1815.00. Same package from a non-AAA TA was $2030.
Hope this helps.

this is sid from the DRC, and i'll answer that question for you. we offer AAA discounted rooms, but if you're looking for packaging, that'd be something you need to check out AAA themselves. last time i heard, however, they didn't offer any real discounted packages, so you may have to bite the bullet on it. as for packages without dining, we do offer them at value season for roughly $1800.00. if i remember from the website, it's based off a 6 night, 7 day stay at a standard location room at a moderate resort. that includes a 7 day MYW (Magic Your Way) Base ticket, and that pricing is based on 2 adults, 1 junior (ages 10-17), and 1 child (ages 3-9). obviously, any changes to that package would result in either a higher or lower price. changes include; resort, package type (basic, dining, etc.), nights of stay, number of occupants (ages do affect pricing as well), etc.

You might get a tiny discount off the tickets, but the majority of the discount is the room portion. We're saving $233 and getting the dining plan.

Maureenmouse, I definitely think you can get a moderate for 5 nights during value season for under $2000 including dining and 5 day MYW tickets w/hoppers. Value season would be 20% discount (subject to availability).

^^^ adding park hoppers would put it close to $2000.00, but that's an estimate from myself.

Okay - I was off a little bit. Just testing some dates for value season (checking in 12/3 and checking out 12/8) at CBR (standard view) for 2 adults, 2 children (3 & 6) with dining plan and 6 day park hoppers, the approx. price would be $1,917.

6 nights with 7 day park hoppers would be about $2,128.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all of the quick replies. We're looking at regular season, June 11th or so. That's when we get out of school this year. I hope we can get the AAA discount and the MYW dining plan on 7 day basic no hopping tickets. The girls are 3 and 6, but will be 4 and 6 by then. ( I know that makes no difference.) We have to get a mod as my husband NEEDS a ceiling fan. ( So he says.) Would it be much cheaper to get a package for 4 nights and room only for 2 more? We'd still have to buy food, but then it would have to be counter service.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks

currently, we do have AAA discounts out for CRO room only's for 2006, so, as i said, give us a call and we'll see what we can do.

Okay if my little calculator works right: for POFQ 6 nights 6/11-6/17/06, water/pool view (I'm calculating water/pool view as being the only available AAA discount type off the AAA website), with 7 day MYW base tickets and the dining plan, you're looking at $2,348.

If you wanted to drop that down to 4 nights on the MYW+dining package (6/11-6/15/06), it would be about $1,820 for the package (still keeping the 7 day MYW base tickets since it's cheaper), plus $332 for the room-only for the 2 nights (6/15-6/17/06). So without the dining plan on the last 2 nights, you'd save around $180.

Hope this helps. If you need a referral for a AAA agent, feel free to PM me. I'm using a great one in South Carolina.

Thanks. Now can you tell me about 5 nights 6 days with a 6 day pass? Maybe that will be feasible. It doesn't seem that $180 less for 2 nights without food is going to do much good. Even with just counter service, I think we'd need to budget $75 per day, so that's $150. We might as well spend $30 more and get the TS meals too. Thanks so much for helping. Where in SC is the travel agent located? We live near the NC SC border.

throw in tax at 11.5% too (if you haven't).

Yes, it's included. :flower: $148.76 x 2 nights = $297.52 + $34.24 tax = $331.76.

She's w/AAA Vacations in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Her name is Michelle Shears; phone # is 800-643-5332.

Okay - 6/11 for 5 nights and a 6 day pass + dining for 5 nights: about $2,071 Not bad!

I'm rounding some of these numbers, but she should be able to check on this for you.

Thanks Betsy. We can afford the 5 nts 6 days plus dining. Hooray!!!
It would be even better if we could get a standard room with a AAA discount. Maybe if I call, she will be able to tell me more. I have no idea where Mt. Pleasant is , sao I won't be viviting that office any time soon, but I can still call. Do you know if that's a better rate than a rack rate standard room? Just checking. Thanks.

The site I looked up only showed the water/pool view with the discount. I know the standard AAA rooms sell out fast. But Michelle can check for you.

The disneyworld.com site is showing only water/pool view rooms available for those dates. If I look up the water/pool view, the package without the AAA discount is $2,217.

Anyway - this will give you an idea what to expect. I'm excited to use the dining plan this November - it looks like a wonderful deal.

Essentially, for regular season take 15% off your rack room rate and add $35 per adult and $10 per child per day. There's your total. We just booked POR waterview six nights, 8 day park passes, plus dining for $2578.00 total - value season, including tax.

Here's what we figured:

If we got an annual pass:

$420 / annual pass
$680 / 1 adult 3 kiddos
$99/night AP rate POR - $600 plus almost $70 tax

Total so far - almost $1700

So for $800 more, we got dining thrown in. Now, that averages about $100/day. Which might seem like a lot to spend for food. Or it might not. But, I figure while I may have only saved 20% on my room vs. about 40% for AP, I can get dining. Now, dining is a big deal for us. There is no way that my kids can eat at WDW for $10/ day or that dh and I can eat for only $35/day. So, essentially, we have just booked a worry free / budget free trip... because the budgeting is all done.

Book It!!!!

Do you think that AAA will have any standard rooms available at CBR or POR? We really don't ned a water view room if it's more money. I'm still trying to keep this trip as close to $2000 as possible.

Why does your husband "have" to have a ceiling fan? There is air conditioning in the values, and if he needs the sound of the fan, there are fans in the bathrooms that can be left on. As an example, I am going during value season to Pop Century, but have a preferred room location, and three adults. For seven nights, with seven day park hoppers, plus dining, I am paying a total of $2,196 through AAA. You should be able to do as well or better during regular season at a value.

You know, I forgot to check those last night and was thinking about it this morning! Sorry about that!

The same AAA MYW+dining package at POR or CBR with standard room would be $1,976.20.

Good luck!
