Would it be worth it join AAA and book disney thru AAA? just wondering i like other ideas of there stuff but would like to know just about disney trips or is it similiar to just booking yourself? willthey make the Character dining reservations for u ect?

The AAA discounts depend on the choice of resort. They can be anywhere from 10% - 20% off rack rate if they have availability (if the AAA discounted rooms are not sold out). If you want room only, you can book the AAA discount through Disney, but if you want a package, you have to go through a AAA travel agent. I think they can book the meals for you, but you can also do it yourself even if you have booked the package through them. Hope this helps some.

I book my vacations using AAA for the hotel discount but call Disney directly to do it. I always get a better rate this way. Just call and get the rate. Tell them you don't have a AAA card yet and they will just tell you to bring it to check in. I have never had to show it.

Oh yes, it is definitley worth it. We are savings $250 on our December trip and would be svings more, but part of our stay is during the Holiday Season, so no discount for those days. I also saved $623 because I cancelled our park tickets to buy discounted AP's.

They also have other perks like the Diamond Discount Card which allows you to get discounts at restaurants and the World Of Disney Store at DTD

Here is a link to the AAA book that is availabe for 2008, it has all the info avail.

I have used AAA twice, and saved $250-$300 each time. You can call AAA and get a quote before you decide... they will give you the quote no matter what. I had the TA make all my ADRs, special requests, dinner shows, etc. She also found us a hotel in Orlando for the first night.

I have booked my cruise through her for this year. She handled that, a room at POP for 2 nights before, hotel for ride home, and tickets to Sea World. I somply email my questions/requests, and she handles everything and emails me back... very easy!

Hi Whitaker24,

I have AAA card and their services have helped me many times over the years; from troubles on the road to saving money on room accommodations. I highly recomend their road assistance services. I have always booked my trips through Disney myself, though.

I am wondering if your only reason for considering AAA is so you can receive a discount on your Disney Resort room rate. If so, I would first try and book your room with the discount. If you get it then sign up for AAA. You are not guarenteed a discount just because you have AAA. Every resort has a certain number of AAA discounts to offer the public per day. If you are not able to book your first choice with a AAA discount, having an open mind to alternate resorts and/or dates should help you get their discount. For any 2008 travel plans you are considering, I would try and book a room with their discount as soon as you can!

Please note, bring your AAA card with you when you check into your hotel; they will likely ask to see it.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation!
