I'm new here and just can't seem to find where this should go so I'll start here.

We have AAA and I would love to book our free dining package thru them accept they don't even get in until 10am CST. And by the time that happens the resort we want is booked. First thing in the am they have openings but by mid morning they are gone. So I'm going back and forth with just booking directly thru Disney so I get what I want. BUT I read on AAA's site that one of the benefits of booking thru them is that you get a discount card. Can anyone tell me what is on this discount card? I want to see if it is worth it to keep trying or if it isn't anything good and I'll just go somewhere else. I know about the priority parking already and that doesn't matter since we'll use Disney transportation.

Thanks!
Sarah

VERY much thank you so much!

Almost all of those are things I don't really care much about so I'll probably just skip AAA all together. Thank you!

yea, there really wasn't much we used it for....we didn't use our story time (never have...we give them away), we used it once for those little sea ray rentals, which broke down 2 times, and they putt along, we didn't use our free game of putt, so a discount for a future one was nothing. The only thing I used the card for was dinner at planet hollywood, and 10% at world of disney...other than that it wasn't worth digging in my purse to pull it out.

I have a AAA card, but I didn't book my vacation through them. Am I still able to get these discounts if I show my card?

i don't think a regular AAA card will work. Just call local AAA and ask....

If you have AAA and you book during free dining you will NOT get a room discount, so unless you are concerned about the Story Time or free mini golf go ahead and book through Disney. They send out those cute welcoming documents you wont get through AAA. I love those things! I regret booking this time w/ AAA since we didn't get a discount anyway and probably can't use ST!

If you have a Disney Visa most of the discounts AAA offers are on that as well.

Did you know....you can pay the difference and upgrade to deluxe dining during this promo? It's a way to really enjoy the dinner shows and 2 credit meals. Book your ADR's soon! Good luck and have a GREAT trip!

WOW, I didn't know you could upgrade....i have used AAA to book my free dining, just didn't get a discount on the room....that is great to know that you can upgrade...

also, i have used AAA and not used AAA...what are the cute welcome things you are speaking of?

Yep! It was like $32 per adult $10 per kid per day I think and then you get that APPETIZER ;) 2 snacks popcorn:: Plus three meals a day any way you want them! By doing this we get to try some of the dinner shows, and the coolest thing (to us anyway) is starting out every morning with a different character breakfast!

wow, i think i need to make a call...thats the only way i could afford to upgrade and do the extras.....we have done some shows but gave up meals to do it....you really don't have to this way....:worship:

I'm curious to know what the welcoming documents are from Disney as well.

This is our first family trip so I don't know what to expect. (I was there once when I was little) I know AAA says they give you luggage tags and a 40 page guide to disney.

Oh and for anyone who doesn't have AAA and is wondering what they have for benefits for Disney here is the list. ;)

Discount card (listed above)

the how to book is ok to look at when you are excited about the trip, but there really isn't that much in it.

I'm personally glad that I didn't book through AAA, because my Disney TA will be able to scout for new discounts and apply them if a code comes out for the second week of December. And from what I've heard, there is a good chance of some kind of code coming out. I REALLY hope by some miracle, that Disney decides to be very generous this year and offer ANOTHER free DDP!!! (yeah right....wishful thinking...) :rotfl2:

that is also good to know, that you can get the current discount if its better by booking with disney, (right?) I love this board...

Jagar100, Are you saying that if you book through Disney and a better discount comes out that they will give you the better discount? That is great! I am inquiring because I am researching a trip to WDW. There are not alot of discounts offered right now for the time I am going. I don't want to put money down if I can say more later. Thanks!
