THe disney CSR told me that only Pop has AAA discounts and that Sports, music, movies do not. Do you think she could mean there are no more discounts available or in general they don't do a AAA discount?

Yes, she probably means that no more discounts are available. usaully if one value resort has discounts offered, they all will.

They all have the discount-the % off depends on the season. We are going in April and saved %15. I compared the whole package with park hopper and dining for 2 rooms. I saved about $200. I recommend going to AAA to book it-they have a great AAA Disney World brochure with prices etc.

We got a great AAA discount at ASMo last year. She probably just meant that all the discounted rooms were booked already.

All the resorts have AAA discounted rooms but they only offer a limited number at each resort. So as stated above what was probably meant was that nothing was available. I've had the AAA rate at ASMo, CSR, POFQ and have one booked this year for POP.

The discount ranges between 10-20% depending on the level of resort and the season.

Keep calling back. Just because it wasn't available today doesn't mean that there won't be a cancellation tomorrow. I have called 2 or 3 times a day to get something and have always ended up with the room or ADR that I wanted.

Just keep trying!:thumbsup2

Don't know if anyone can answer this or not but which one gives you a better discount, AAA or the disney card. I have both.:confused3

This is my experience with the AAA discount. I reserved a room online, couldn't add AAA online. Called the reservation phone number and asked if they could add the AAA discount to my ressie. Yes , sure , it's available. Was told all I had to do was show my AAA card at check-in. OK, sounds good. Arrived on 2-2-08 presented my AAA card and was told I didn't have the discount on my ressie. WHAT??? The clerk did try to call and get the discount for me but evidently they only do so many rooms for AAA discount and since it was not already on my ressie, so no discount available.
LESSON: BE SURE THE AAA DISCOUNT IS ON YOUR RESERVATION BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AS THEY WON'T ADD IT UNLESS THEY HAVE ROOMS AVAILABLE UNDER THE AAA DISCOUNT PLAN. THIS MUST BE DONE OVER THE PHONE AND NOT ONLINE.

The clerk was very nice about it but had to deal with central ressies office and they said no. I wasn't going to argue but it would have meant about $100 for my weeks visit.

I just paid in full with AAA-I didn't go on-line I used the AAA travel agent in my town. I reserved in November and put $200 deposit down and had till 2/20 to pay in full. I kept looking for codes and I did get a postcard with a code but not for my April trip. AAA did me right, no complaints with $197 saved plus they give you some perks (free 5by7 Photopass pic, storytime, discounts at some places etc). Call and ask for the brochure, it explains everything.
Yes, the rooms you want may have been sold out for the AAA rate but keep checking. In Nov we wanted preferred and they didn't have them available. Just before we paid in full, she checked again (they call Disney) and they had the preferred room available.
I also used their travel insurance $54.95 per adult with kids included. I have elderly parents and you never know so I paid it for better safe than sorry.

I agree with the others in that the POP is the only one left with the AAA discount but I would keep trying back if you do not want to stay there. Also I would make sure that is states AAA discount on your ressie when you do book. That way you are guaranteed that rate. I just booked a AAA rate at the POP for next month and it does state on my confirmation that I have that rate.

I made a reservation last Friday (2/15) for our May vacation. I booked a room at ASMo at the AAA rate. I gave the CM my dates and asked for the AAA rate and she told me there was none available. I happened to have the AAA website up on my computer and entered my dates in their reservation system. It came up with all 3 All Stars and Pop (as well as some moderate and deluxe resorts). Questioned the CM about the difference and she tried again. This time she came up with the same thing as on the AAA site. First time she tried it, she was looking for packages, which were not available for my dates. Second time she just looked for room discounts. If I hadn't questioned her, we would have been booked at the rack rate. I don't mean to criticize the CM, she was just thinking in terms of packages. Pays to be specific about what you ask for. It saved me $120.

You can go to the aaa on-line site and check for availability. Usually AAA discounts at the more expensive resorts disappear first.
