AAA can it be canceled w/out penality

Can a AAA room only ressie be made thru CRO and canceled w/out penality like a regular ressie? Also do you have to have a AAA acct# to make a ressie or just show your card at check in?

It works just like a regular room reservation, so yes, it can be cancelled without penalty up to 6 days before the first night.

I've had to give my AAA number when making reservations. I don't recall actually showing my card at check in though on any trip I've used it.

It is hit or miss as to whether you need to show the AAA card at check in. They tell you that you are required to show it or you will have to pay rack rate. I would estimate that I have been asked to produce the card 50% of the time. When I was asked they took the card and compared the number to what they had in the computer.

Same with us - about half the time they don't ask for the AAA card, the other half of the the time, they ask. The time you don't have it, is, of course, the time they will ask for it. May as well bring it along...
