We are going to be AP holders in a week and half when we go for FD and upgrade our 9 day phs. We are also joining AAA this week just for kicks. I was wondering how to book the best deal for a couple of short trips. Any advice would be appreciated! I wondered what the odds for getting AAA codes, AP codes or reg. packages (they sometimes are the better deal) would be for the following dates. What do you guys think??

Jan. 1-5
Feb. 20-24
Apr. 13-17

Anyone have any insight into whether or not codes are even offered during these dates? I know they are New Years, Mardi Gras, and Spring Break so are my chances slim to none? Or have you gotten AAA or AP deals these times of the year? TIA!

Also, wanted to add that I looked at the current package online at www.disneyworld.com and it ends on Sept. 24. What's your perspective on what package may be offered next?? It says "More Great offers are available in other Resort accomodations through December 23, 2008."

You get 20% off when you book through AAA. AAA works with Disney so you have a trusted company and they give great perks. we got a free 5'7 photo mini golf and a ton of other items because we booked through them.

I know that AAA offers discounts earlier than APs. You won't see any AP discounts during holidays. Gosh, they didn't even offer a discount last MLK weekend, so not counting on that one for myself while we're there. You might get a partial discount on January, probably starting on the 3rd. February might be doeable since you're going the week after Prez weekend. As for your April dates....forget about it. Not going to happen. The day before easter and easter week. You'll be lucky to just get a room at full price. Sorry I couldn't be more encouraging, but been an AP holder since 1995, so I've been around to see discounts come and go. I'm not an AAA member, so that might be your best bet. Good luck!

Is this 20% off all WDW resorts or only certain ones?? Is this all year long or only at certain times?

I am online right now trying to find the Alabama AAA website (I've looked at it before) but it keeps redirecting me to AAA Texas....any idea why??

you can always get a room only reservation using AAA and hope that an AP rate will come out. I have done this for two of our trips this fall, and in each case, an AP rate was eventually released. When the AP rate was released, I changed our room only reservation to be an AP package with dining. this way I don't pay for the tickets, can get the dining plan, and still get a discount on the room rate. The AP also gives you the opportunity to purchase the DDE, which gives you a discount on dining in case you *don't* purchase a pkg.

And you can book a room only reservation using AAA directly thru central reservations at Disney -- you don't have to use AAA. I have had mixed results using AAA -- many times I feel like I know alot more about Disney and the options available than they do.

Thanks everybody! That's why I posted-I knew DISers could help!! I was pretty sure she was just incorrect because she said she wasn't seeing ANY AAA discounts for 2009. Anyway, I just called back and their was a discount available and I saved $200!!! You guys rock!

Hey! I'm confused as to what you are saying? Did I miss something? What kinds of discount did you get and who said they weren't seeing any discounts? :confused3
