I know Disney is currently offering 15 months to anyone that buys an annual pass. If I buy an annual pass at AAA do I still get the 15 months?

the 15th months is meant for renewals, not new APs.

Is there any sort of price break for AAA members purchasing an Annual Pass?

Not from AAA offices that serve most parts of the country.

AAA is actually operated regionally. Not all branches offer the same kind of tickets.

There is a branch of AAA (the Auto Club) called "AAA South" that serves*
Florida, Georgia, Middle & West Tennessee, and Puerto Rico.

If you go tho their offices, they have WDW AP's (Florida Resident, and NON-Florida Resident) at a discount.

I don't think they can MAIL them, so this would work if you were driving to WDW and could make a stop along the way.

The price that they listed back on 8/06/08 on the Adult NON-Florida Resident AP was $445.95 (WDW Gate Price at that time was $469.)

There is a way to buy AP's for Disney World and still get a "discount."
Its easy, but requires a few "steps" to accomplish.

Here's the deal:

First, find the absolute best deal you can on a multi-day MYW ticket from a reputable WDW ticket discounter:
-----------------------------------------------------
Here are some popular, reliable links for info and/or tickets:

http://www.mousesavers.com

http://www.undercovertourist.com

http://www.ticketmania.com

http://www.mapleleaftickets.com

And, AAA travel offices can often be a good source.
-----------------------------------------------------

Buy your MYW ticket from the discounter.
(Likely the best deal will be on a ticket with a larger number of days on it.)

When you get to WDW, USE your discounted ticket to go into a THEME PARK at least one day.

THEN, go to any Guest Relations or Ticket Window at the park, TTC, or DTD.

Upgrade to an AP.

Since you have USED a day of your discounted ticket, you will receive the CURRENT GATE PRICE when you trade in your discounted ticket.

So...

You will get to "keep the discount" you got on the MYW ticket, but you will then be buying an AP as if you had paid full current gate price for the MYW you are trading-in.

Maybe the promotion has changed. I bought a brand new Florida Resident Seasonal pass in Sept of this year. I didn't even know about the promotion and they gave me 15 months so my expiration date is Dec 2010.

The offer is good for purchase of a new AP for FL residents only.

For everyone else it's only on renewals.

This question is a bit OT, but when buying the annual passes do you have to do that before you arrive at the resorts or can you do that once you arrive at the parks? We scheduled a last minute trip this month for our son and his best friend, but already planned a trip for Feb with my mom and my sister. It seems to be cheaper to just buy the annual passes. We went twice last year and regretted not having thought of buying them then.

You can wait until after you arrive in the parks. You don't have to have any form of tickets to stay at a Disney hotel.

However, if your question has to do with using an Annual Pass discount for your hotel stay, then they may ask to show your AP at check-in (we weren't asked, even though we made sure to have it beforehand)

If you bought a package with tickets and hotel stay for your first trip, then you can have those tickets upgraded to an Annual Pass. It may be better to have your tickets put on separate media when you check in to make the upgrade simpler at the parks. Hotel CMs can't upgrade to APs.
Just remember that tickets must be upgraded within 14 days of first use, so you can't use non-AP tickets for your first trip, then bring the same tickets back to have them upgraded for your second trip.

You can't buy AP's at the resorts, you have to go to a park or Downtown Disney. You have up to 14 days from the first use of a MYW ticket to upgrade to AP (start date is the first day MYW used).

There are currently two 15 months for the price of 12 promotions going on.

One is for any current passholder and is for renewals of annual passes, as long as the renewal is done within 30 days on either side of the expiration date. This promotion will end on August 31, 2010. (The promotion started August 2, 2009.)

The other is for Florida Residents only and is for purchase of new annual passes. This program is valid for purchases made through December 31, 2009. It is also valid for activations of exchange certificates/vouchers through January 14, 2010. (This promotion started September 1, 2009.) So if you are a Flrida Resident and purchase your AP voucher at an AAAA office you will get a discounted price (at the time of purchase) and the 15 months when you activate it.

Both promotions specifically exclude the Epcot After 4:00, the Weekday Select, water park and Disney Quest passes.

Thanks for the response guys. I think I will just go ahead and keep my tickets then and just upgrade to an AP when I am leaving. That seems to be the easiest avenue for sure.

UNLESS, you want to take advantage of the AP benefits during your current trip.

AP's are automatically "hoppers" and they do offer discounts on certain meals and shopping, etc.

Oh! That might be better then. I love to shop at Disney :) Thanks! :yay:
