We are going on a rather tight budget trip this year. Our neighbors are AAA members and told us that they would let us use the AAA discount to get our tickets. My question is if they buy the tickets are the tickets linked to their name and would there be any problems with us using the tickets?

We have never been asked for ID for parkhopper plus passes that I purchased from Disney.com, or at the Disney store. They did not ask either time for the names of anyone in my party. I don't think AAA cares, either.....:wave2:

Each AAA branch has a stack of pre-printed PH passes. When you buy them then just pull the next ones off of the stack and give them to you. No numbers are recorded or anything else for that matter. That's one of th reason's why it's important to photocopy the back of your tickets in case they are lost.

We got our tickets from AAA - the tickets are not tied to any name. I also agree the discount is not much. From what I've read each AAA region has there own rates, and some sell different tickets - only 4day PH vis 5 day PH vs PH plus tickets. Our AAA discount (central Indiana) was a disocunt from gate price only - it exactly matched the advanced purchase price you could get through the mail or at a Disney store. We saved about $1 a ticket, because the sales taxes was a little less here.

When we bought our tickets at AAA we bought our in-laws tickets also. They are not connected by name. Here in Ohio where we bought ours we saved I think around $10 a ticket off buying online or in the Disney Stores, because tax was included in the listed price at AAA and it wasn't on the online price. It worked for us anyway.:) Talking about copying the back of the ticket for the numbers, our AAA office did that for us and gave us the copies to keep. I thought that was extra nice of them.:D

I know that you can upgrade PHs to Annual Passes, but I have heard that if you bought your PH's through a "broker" you only get credit for what the broker paid... is AAA a "broker"? Does anyone know how much credit you will get for unused days towards an AP?

Have them purchase the tickets online. It is cheaper then the gate price that way. They do not have a name imprinted on them nor do you need to show id, unless it is a Fla Res or AP.

I checked AAA Carolinas website and they are the cheapest that I have found so far. It says tax is included in their prices. Maybe your neighbors could go to your local AAA office and purchase the tix for you??? On the other hand, a AAA membership isn't that much (only one would have to join to get the discount).

I recently bought my tickets at my local AAA for our June trip. One of the nice things about my local AAA is they sell their PH's at the old price until they have to reorder. I not only got the discount but I got the old ticket price. I think my local AAA sells 4 day ph, 5 day ph, and 6 day ph +.

It's wouldn't hurt to call the local AAA office to see what their price is now and then check against some of the other places you'll find written about on these boards.

Have a great trip.
