so question...If we booked through AAA does that mean we won't get any pin offers from Disney other than General Public?

make sure you sign up for Disney Planning DVD and give ur email address. May help.

I booked directly with Disney and used AAA to get the room only discount. Last week, I received a pin - 30% off room rates for Deluxe (there were other discounts for moderate and value as well).

Anyway, it was a bit of a hassle to use because the pin was good through 11/19 and then starts back up on 11/24. We are going 11/19 - 11/25 - so - I had to book three separate reservations and put down three separate deposits.

We used the pin for 11/19
AAA for 11/20 - 11/23
Pin for 11/24

We've always booked through AAA and yes, you will still have the possibility of receiving a PIN code because those come from Disney and AAA can apply that PIN code to your vacation package. I get the PINs, once in a blue moon, because I went onto Disney's vacation site and priced out vacation options there so we could do some pre-planning. Since you have to register on their site, I always make sure I select the options to have Disney send me news/updates/ads/etc. via email and regular mail. Earlier this year, we received a PIN by mail in a brochure and then just a few weeks ago, I received another one via email, which I am currently using for our upcoming trip. For our previous vacation, we used a free dining PIN code which came via email.

When PINS come in emails what's the exact name of the sender and what's generally the title of the email? For postal mail what should I look out for?

When the PIN codes come via email, the sender is "Disney Destinations" and a majority of the time, they'll put your last name in the subject line. That right there is one clue there's a PIN code inside. The most recent subject line for the PIN code email I received on 5/24/12 read, "Oh my! We forgot your Walt Disney World savings PIN last time." I found an older email from 1/10/11 that had a PIN code and the subject line was, "Special Disney Rates and Dates for the P------ Family!"

As far as the post cards go, the last one we received was a nice folded one that had Dumbo on it.
