AAA and Disney Visa points

I have AAA, and I will also have about $750 worth or points on my Disney Visa by the time we travel in October.

My question is, can I apply my Disney points that I've accumulated over the last 1.5 years toward a AAA package?

If we do "room only", I can always use the points against tickets/food. I'd love to use them toward the MYW package w/ dining, however.

Anybody know the answer???

(I posted this on the "budget board" and it didn't generate any response over there.)

I'm not sure how booking the AAA package works. Do you pay AAA upfront or do you pay a balance when you arrive at the hotel? If it's the latter then it's not a problem. When you're a few weeks out you can order your rewards card. It's like a debit type of card. You would just give it to the front desk when you pay for your room.
Wow! $750 We're thrilled with our $340 for this trip. But that's just since April, so any more and we'd be in trouble.

AAA requires a $200 deposit on the package, and the balance is due 45 days before the trip. So I'm guessing the answer to my question is that I can't do it. That's too bad....I had decided that dining package would work for us, and I'm already a AAA member.

So to get the AAA discount, I can do a "room only" reservation, which still saves us some dough. But now I'll have to be a little more careful about the restaurants we pick to make sure we stay on budget. It will work either way, but I was hoping to have 5 nice sit-down meals where I didn't have to worry about it at all.

That is an interesting question. It's too bad you can't use the accumulated rewards points through a AAA travel agency.

Good Question, I to have over 200 points on my Visa card. I was just going to use them to buy souviners and such. Just so I don't have to pay outright for. I am hoping that if I have left over points I can use them towards a credit on my room but I don't know. I will have to ask my AAA agent when I talk to her.

Well, I may have some good news. Although I am in Texas, I am using a AAA agent in California at the recommendation of another DISboards member (thank you, WDWBetsy!!!)....she has made some calls to Disney, and they have said that I can use my Reward Card points toward the cost of the package. That would be great. My points expire at the end of the year, and there is no way I'll use as many points as I have on souveniers.

I'll let you know what happens when it officially happens.

Glad to help out. I am so glad to have found that AAA agent, too!

That is awesome that you can use the Reward Card points! Wonderful :Pinkbounc
