Aaa 2008

Okay I booked our package last night with Disney Reservations. 7 nights, dining plan, hopper + water park :cool1: But today I called to get a quote from AAA since I am a member and the only savings would be $115.00??? does that sound right? I thought it would be alot better than that. What is the norm for the AAA discount  ? Thanks for any help

Looking at your signature...it looks like you are staying deluxe in June 2008. You should get a 10% discount on the room with AAA. Make sure they are not tacking on extras like trip insurance, etc to the quote. Your room tickets and dining price will stay the same....you will only get a 10% discount on the room.

Just wanted to add in that I was able to change my reservation over to a room-only AAA rate yesterday (Sunday) when the 2008 rates were released.

I called and was told that the rates were not out yet. I immediately called back and the 2nd CM put me on hold for a few minutes, then came back and processed my change.

Another tidbit of info.....

We are going as a big group and have 4 rooms booked. The CM told me the rules have changed on the AAA rate and now you can only book up to 2 (instead of 3) rooms per AAA membership. Luckily, we have 2 memberships out of the 8 adults staying in the 4 rooms we have booked. We were able to change all 4 reservations over to the AAA rate.

We are staying at All Star Sports from February 2nd thru February 9th at the AAA rate of $65.60 ($74.13 after tax) per night.

She asked me for both AAA numbers.

That is with insurance which I knew was in our trip package. I told the her exactly what we booked with Disney Reservations and she quoted me a price of $6,072.00. I know it is $115.00 savings but I thought it would be more. Oh well :confused3

I just booked Pop Century for Feb 7-10(Thurs-Sun). The AAA room-only rate for standard was $65/per night/$75 for preferred. The CM and I were both surprised that the weekend rate was the same as the weekday.

Was that with tax or without?

OKAY- my AAA lady who I think is great called me yesterday while I was driving with prices for 3 rooms all packages. I said can you email them to me. When I got home AAA was already closed. Her prices where about $60 - $100 higher then me just ordering online no discount.
CRAZY!

Just curious, what typically gets a better AAA discount - Deluxe, Moderate or Value or is it all the same across the board. What I have been reading is that it is 10% of the room rate. Our room for 7 days is costing over $3,000 so wouldn't that be at least a $300 savings? When I called she was only saving me $115.00? Is it me? I don't get it :confused3

I called WDW yesterday to find out how much our package would be. Here is the info I got for March 1- 9th.

To stay at the All Star Movies for 8 nights, 7 base tickets and the dining plan was with tax $2581.

He said the room only would be $1109 with tax. AAA would give us 10% off. He was not very helpful at all!

I called AAA the same pacakage was $2350. I had her take the travel insurance off.

I did find out they have changed the dining plan. They added a delux dining option where you can have three TS meals a day. On the basic an appetizer is no longer included. No biggie for us because all of our meals are Character meals. We opted for the basic dining plan.

We saved a total of $231.

I just found out why AAA's price was higher the Disney's website. She had us down for park hoppers. That was $191. big difference when she took that out.

OHH by the way total savings with AAA was $131. in the end. That makes me happy!

I just had our agent change us from room only to a MYW Plus Dining Package for Jan 9-19 package at Pop through AAA. The cost for 1 Adult and 1 12 year old was $2,100. Here is the breakout:

10 nights Pop Centrury

10 day park hopper plus waterparks option

Magical Express

Basic Dining package - 1 counter service, 1 table service and 1 snack

Also with AAA this comes with a 10% discount card for DTD and can be used at the World of Disney store (which is great since it carries alot of stuff you can buy at the parks there). It also has a few other perks that come with booking AAA.

We are saving almost $200 off the price quoted from Disney for just us. In our grand gathering we are saving over $900 total.:woohoo:

Can't wait for January!!!!!!!

I just booked our trip today with our AAA agent. We are staying Jan. 26-Feb. 2 in a Courtyard View at the WL, MYW with dining and park hopper passes. We are saving $324 by booking through AAA. Sounds good to me!

without tax
Thank you!

I paid $74 per night w/tax for a non-preferred room during value season at Pop with my AAA discount; just wanted to make sure it was right. :)

I booked a pkg thru AAA yesterday that saved me $488 or so over the quote I received from the Disney website. In fact, the AAA rate with deluxe dining is $100 or so less than the regular rate with with the regular dining plan. Can't wait!

It's my understanding that you can use one or the other: AAA discount or Disney discount codes. If a new code comes out that's better than the AAA discount, you can rebook (subject to availability) with the new code. I haven't done it myself, but that is my understanding.
