Looking to book American Airlines to Miami for Oct '14. When did your Oct'13 open this year?

You will have to wait a bit. AA opens up their schedule 331 days in advance. This info is available on their website.

For the ones that are flying in Oct '13 I would still like to know when you were able to purchase your ticket.

:confused3

This was answered. The earliest they could have purchased tickets for October 2013 was 331 days before start of travel. The ticket release date has not changed.

directly from AA site:

Q: How far in advance can I book a flight?
A: You can book a flight on AA.com up to 331 days in advance.

The legacy airlines (American, United, USAirways) release flights at 331 days. They don't release them in blocks like Southwest, Jet Blue, etc.

If you go to American's website and try to book a flight, it will show you the calendar and which dates are available. Right now it's up to August 18, 2014. August 19 and after are greyed out. Check it tomorrow and it should show August 19 is available. I found prices on day 331 are usually very high on the legacy airlines.

Thank you Debbie that's what I was looking for, that's good information. We haven't used AA before so it's new to us.

I think NC State was looking for a bit more information then just "331 Days". Great title for a zombie move, not so much when you want detailed travel information.

Love American! Fly them every week and never have any problems!! :)
They are in the process of adding brand new planes to their fleet as well. :thumbsup2

:confused3 What more detail did Debbie give?

NC- Something else to keep in mind, if you're buying a RT ticket, you'll need to wait until 331 days from your RETURN flight date to book. You can use excel (or other spreadsheet) to do the calculation for you. Put the travel date you want in one cell, 331 in another, and subtract the two.

Seriously.... Lost gave you exactly what you needed........ Legacy airlines are exact at releasing fares 331 days in advance..... what more was needed?

Maybe OP is really asking how he/she can figure out what date would be 331 days from the travel date. Go here:

http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadded.html?m1=10&d1=8&y1=2014&type=sub&ay=&am=&aw=&ad=331

Put in the date you want to travel. For example, October 8, 2014. Then subtract 331 days. Tickets for that date should be released around November 11, 2013.
