Can a Disney CM apply a AAA discount to a reservation or do I have to go to AAA travel agent to book it?

They can do AAA room discounts if available. A package has to go through AAA.

I understood what you were asking. The only way to have a AAA room discount on a package booking is to have the package booked by a AAA agent. You can book a AAA room ONLY directly through Disney on your own, but all packages with a AAA discount must be booked by AAA.

Thanks! I just wanted to double check b/c on AAA's website they had extra info about "AAA package benefits" so I was hoping it meant something else.

You're welcome, and the extra benefits have been things like a special storytime event and preferred fireworks viewing area access. Definitely worth inquiring about through your local AAA office.

Those things have all been discontinued for 2014.

They're ending their partnership but I'm not sure what that means for discounts.

That's why I said "have been". I had a suspicion they would be coming to an end. Thanks for confirming! I figured the AAA fireworks viewing would be the first to go since they've been offering FP+ for viewing. Let's hope they get all of the kinks worked out before we go in October.

I read the same thing about the partnership being discontinued. But then I got 2 mailers from my AAA about January being Disney month with specials and gift cards for booking packages. I threw them away and I don't remember if they had the same perks as usual but it still seemed like they were partnering. Even though I have AAA I used my friend who is a travel agent which is why I threw the mailers away.

For rates I know people have booked for dates in 2014. I don't know if there is a date for that to stop or not, but AAA confirmed the bonus stuff is gone. Kinda reduces the benefit, IMO.

I still have my latest AAA Journeys magazine, but it just says to visit aaa.com/Disney where it still lists the old perks. Guess they haven't taken them off of their site yet.
