I thought I'd write this in case some of you don't know about this. Both times before when I've gone to dlp I've stayed on site,(cheyenne n Santa Fe) both times it's been cold. I really wanted to try a summer trip there in the school holidays just me and my dd. I bought ap's for us earlier this year. Even with those staying on site even in Santa Fe or cheyenne comes up way too much. So I booked us an apartment at val d Europe for 4 nights for £282. A few weeks ago I read something about the 'show your card' scheme across Europe. The aa is part of this scheme. If you have an aa card on the reverse you will see a box with show your card on it. This gets you discounts across Europe on things, including staying at the dream castle or magic circus hotels at dlp :) you have to book by email or phone to get the show your card rate. Anyhow for the dates we are going the dream castle comes up at £621, I emailed them regarding the show your card rate to find that for the exact same room etc it was only £307!!! Needless to say that I have now cancelled our apartment and we are now stating at magic castle complete with breakfast for £307 ! Hope this info helps a few others :)

You also get a free adult with a paying adult at the sea life centre in val d'europe.

Make sure you print off the page from the site tho as they tried to tell me it was a free child, so they had to amend it manually to allow the offer. Saved us 12€ :)

Really wish I knew this before we booked but will be handy for next time. Do you have the phone number please?

Do you have to pay in full at the time of booking?

What dates are you going? The rate they have quoted me is 20% off but I thought it was suppose up be 35 or 45%?

Hi, just wondered if you could pm me the number for this please? I know you posted a while ago but I've just seen this lol :)
Thanks x

I was just going to ask for me too but thanks for the email address! :thumbsup2

Also, where on the AA website does it show the hotels participating in the scheme? I can only see something about Great Western hotels - is that who Magic Circus and Dream Castle are owned by?

Thanks :goodvibes

It doesn't Hun, the only reason I knew of it is when I read it in a post on here. The OP saw it advertised on a German site. So I just emailed them directly to ask lol they are part of the show your card scheme, my aa card has show your card on the back, so that's all I need :) the hotels are owned by a company called vi.

Upon emailing them this is part of the email that I received back from them.

We are pleased to inform you that we still have available rooms in our hotel for your requested period, from the 23rd to the 27th of July 2013, for 1 adult and 1 child, either at the Dream castle or at the Magic Circus Hotel. The Show Your Card rate will be 90.00 ¬ per night.

Please find attached a document gathering all the information of the hotel in order to make your trip easier.

We remain at your disposal for any queries you may have.

Thanks so much for posting this, I would never have known about it otherwise despite having an AA card. I've saved the information for future reference. :thumbsup2
