A Year Is Way Too Long To Wait! We Just Keep Booking Trips!

I am going to cancel one of the dinner ADRs, I just grabbed them both because Feb hours were not out yet and I didn't really have our days planned out. Now that hours are out, I will revise our plans and figure out which day we really want BoG. It's funny you mentioned eating the dark, I was wondering about that. But since the kids love eating at Sci Fi in the dark I think they will be okay at BoG.

As far as changes, the guilt :guilty: of pulling them out of school for a week was really starting to bother me. So I looked at the calendar and was thinking we would go up New Year's Eve (but not do a park) and then stay for a week, that way the kids would not miss any school. I priced out a Downtown Disney hotel with a fireworks view for the first couple nights, then over to CR for the remaining 5 nights as BLT was not available. DH was aggravated, he said I spent so much time convincing him that BLT was the right choice and we know February works for us, etc, etc :headache: He usually doesn't say boo to me, so I decided not to rock the boat and leave the trip as it is and just deal with school :teacher: as the time approaches.

I get DH to that point sometimes too. I know when I have pushed him too far with my planning and changing and overthinking. We too are taking the kids out of school in November, and i am hoping it will not be too much on them.

BOG is a really neat experience, and you may end up sitting in the main ballroom too. It was beautiful in there with the snow at the window. :)

Melissa, I didn't know about your PTR  I stink:rotfl: I LOVE the pics, I especially like the one of you...you look like a rockstar, girl!!:goodvibes I received a promo for Frontier...so I've been looking at a weekend in February as well...I will never learn:rolleyes1

Well the beginning of Feb is VALUE season and LOW crowds, that plus a Frontier promo could make for a nice inexpensive Feb trip :rotfl:

FOOD AND WINE, HERE WE COME!!!!

Well um, we spent yesterday with our cousins that we are going away with for our Labor Day trip. So the wife and I said her and I should shoot up to WDW for a quick girls weekend during Food and Wine since we know we can't drag the kids through it with us. The hubbies were less than thrilled with our scheming  But today, my hubby says why don't we all go during Food and Wine and the dads will take the kids into the parks and the wives can go do food and wine :faint: We looked at the calendar and decided that we should go away the weekend of hubby's birthday....I guess I should mention that the cousins are actually hubby's first cousin who married hubby's best friend so not only are they family, but really good friends :goodvibes So I guess this means we will not be letting our AP's expire, instead renewing them, but shhhhh :ssst: that was how I justified going away in for Labor Day weekend, that one last trip before the AP's expire :rotfl2:

WHEN: October 11-13
WHO: Me, DH, DS(10), DD(8) AND our cousins DH, DW, and twin DSs (8)
WHERE: Off property at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa

DS(20) is saying he may actually come for this trip, but I won't get too excited yet.

With ADR's at:
Yachtsman Steakhouse for hubby's birthday, but we are hoping that will change to California Grill once ADR's finally open up.

Melissa I like this new plan! And make sure you hold hubby to that babysitting so you girls can do F&W!:thumbsup2

A few updates:

Trip 1 - we are less than 48 hours out and sooooo excited :dance3: Steven has agreed to finally go on the water rides, so this will either be great or a disaster :lmao:

Trip 2 - we moved the Oct tip up a weekend due to lack of availability of a 4BR condo and also just to avoid the Columbus Day crowds. So we are now going Oct 4-6 :thumbsup2 Also becuase we will not be celebrating hubby's birthday I have cancelled Yachtsman Steakhouse and we now have ADR's for:

Liberty Tree Tavern
Prime Time Cafe

Trip 3 - all ADR's including California Grill are booked :yay:

Melissa: Wow, it all sounds great! I can't believe you are 2 days away, that went so fast! I hope you have a fabulous trip.

About an hour out from WDW!!! First up, Magic Kingdom. Not where I usually plan to start on a Saturday, but it's the way the plans fell. Hopefully the morning won't be too bad. Then lunch at LTT, a must do for us!

Bye-Bye Boca and hellooooooooooo Walt Disney World! You're so brave to take on the Labor Day crowds, but I know you'll have a great time.

I hope you'll post how you liked your LTT lunch, we've only had dinner there.

Quick update: (sorry no pics)

We survived Day 1. First stop was City Hall for a new GAC and to finally exchange out old AP's for new RFID cards. We haven't been since they started changing them over, so that was a must do since we had to wait to have our tickets scanned when entering the MK.

We managed a good amount of rides before lunch at LTT which was delicious as always. Steven enjoyed his vanilla milkshake and GF rolls, but barely ate his GF mac & cheese, he said he didn't like it which was strange since he are so much of it when we were here in Feb. Hubby and I shared the Pilgrim's Feast (turkey dinner) and the New England Pot Roast and both were excellent as always!!! YUM!!!

After lunch the kids were getting hot and tired we did a few more rides then headed back to the resort to get unpacked and take a break for a bit. We made a quick stop at DTD to run into Babycakes and get Steven GF donuts for the morning.

We headed over to Epcot in the evening just as the skies were turning a nasty shade of grey and the thunder started rumbling. Test Track was closed due to the weather so we headed to Mission Space. Turns out our twin boy cousins have never been on it because their parents won't go, so we took the along with Steven and Sarah, green side of course ;) The boys loved it, so it was nice we could do that for them. With the skies still threatening we decided to grab a quick dinner at Electric Umbrella. Steven was able to get GF chicken tenders and fries from a dedicated fryer so he was happy, although the the tenders seemed a little burnt. I was skeptical to eat here because I didn't think there was much on the menu for the rest of us, but we all found something and were surprised how good the good was. Hubby and I shared a Caesar salad with grilled chicken and meatball sub and enjoyed them both.

After dinner and a brief shower the skies cleared up and we were finally able to get on Test Track! YAY! Everyone was happy!!! Our plan was to do Soarin then head to the World Showcase for illuminations but the kids were starting to melt down and the Fastpass line for Soarin was even a decent wait, so we decided it was time to call it a night. The kids had been up since 5:30am so it was a very long day. They all needed showers and a good nights sleep :)

Crowds were not horrible, we really didn't feel them til the Soarin wait last night. Granted we use a GAC so that helps a lot. But even without it I was surprised at how many walk on rides or low wait times there were. Today is supposed to be a busier day so we'll see how that goes.

Next up: AK then over to DHS for dinner at Sci-Fi.

Oh and Steven HATED Splash Mountain, so he informed us he will not be doing Kali River Rapids today. He loves thrill rides, but hates the water part. So looks like he and I will be staying dry today.

Glad you arrived safely and are having fun! So nice that you could take the boys on Mission Space, I have not conquered that one yet. No pics??? ;) Keep having a magical time!

ADD TRIP #4! Hubby informed me yesterday he has a conference the last weekend of September and since we have to pay for a hotel anyway, the kids I should drive up with him and head to the parks. Okay twist my arm :rotfl: So we will spend one night at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Orlando then move over to Pop for a night. Pop is definitely not our usual deluxe or off prop, but for a quick night it works and puts us on property at an inexpensive price.

So day 2 went smoother than day 1 for sure. The kids (and adults) were much more rested and ready to tackle the parks. We headed to AK and hit all the headliners without a problem. The kids were excited to see the zebras back on the Safari and we head to stop for black rhinos crossing the street, they were so close it was unbelievable. We had a quick lunch at Pizzafari as it is one of Steven's favorites for gluten free pizza. After a few more rides we headed back to the resort for an afternoon swim and a few drinks at the pool bar :p Which were very needed at that point since Steven and I were both having a hard time with the heat and I guess to put it mildly we were both melting down :sad2:

So after some refreshing pool time and drinks we headed to DHS. Hit the headliners then headed to Sci-Fi for dinner. Everyone enjoyed Sci-Fi, which was new for our cousins, so happy to provide them with a new experience. All the while the sky was turning dark and lightening was crazy. We hoped the storm would pass while we ate but when we came out of dinner the thunder was getting louder and the lightening was frightening. So we high tailed it out of DHS and decided that heading to MK for Wishes was out of the question :sad1:

Day 3 we headed back to Epcot to finally make it on Soarin and to hit Test Track and Mission Space again, then made our way back to the MK for a few more rides and lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus. We haven't eaten there in a while and were pleasantly surprised with choices and Steven was able to have his gluten free pizza and because they do not have a dedicated fryer, they offered him baked fries, which he enjoyed.

Monday was by far the hottest day and it was really making me sick. We always plan on leaving by 2-3pm on our last day so we can get home and unpack a bit, have dinner, and get the kids in bed at a decent hour for school the next day. So I was really trying to get out of there by 2, but it ended up being after 3 because the kids "had" to ride a few more things.

All in all, it was a great trip and we had an awesome time with our cousins! It was so hot and humid though, which I knew it would be, I made hubby promise to never let me book Labor Day again

The picture of all the kids on Expedition Everest came out so good, we just had to buy it!

Melissa I LOVE the EE pic :goodvibes
My kids do not like getting wet. Kate was in tears after Jurassic Park (Bree loves it, Brandon too) But Kate and little Brian...no good. How did I not remember Kate doing Splash mountain, and I had to buy her a new outfit then and there (which Maddie told her she looked like a boy) Ugh kids..:duck:

Glad the crowds where not horrendous, but that is mighty brave to do a holiday weekend!

Next stop Food and Wine!!! :worship:

Melissa I love that picture! It is perfect and Sarah's hair flying in the wind is classic. I understand about the heat, September is brutal.

Well our quick little one night stay at Pop has made is eligible for MagicBand testing! We customized them already and should have them on Monday. I am really excited to see how they work and play around with the FP+ system.

Oh so nice of Maddie to "help" the situation ;) We just cant win! Sarah loves the water rides, especially Kali River Rapids, so just more things to out on the list that one kids likes and the other doesn't, lol!

Yeah I am hoping when we go back in a few weeks it will be a tad bit cooler!

Totally bummed out :( Magic Bands should be here any minute now, but I can't make my FP+ selections. Our AP's expire before we go and even though I have renewed them already, the FL resident certificates cannot be linked through MDE. And of course you have to have valid park admission linked through the MDE to be able to make FP+ selections. I was told I will have to wait until I am in the parks and convert my certificates to passes and then link those to MDE. I was really hoping to grab a Wishes or parade viewing selection. Oh well, guess if it is meant to be it will still be available when we get there.
