Margot is precious. That age is so much fun! Once they start crawling it is a whole new ball game. LOL My "baby" just turned 2 on Sunday and seeing those pictures of her reminds me of how fast the time goes. I'm so glad that you got a chance to see her before she got any bigger.

thanks! so cool that you're planning on coming then too. i just saw the update on the wizarding world of harry potter and i'm intrigued! i'm actually reading the books now (i know i'm behind - i just didn't have an interest in them and a good friend finally convinced me to read them. i'm on "the chamber of secrets" right now.) and i really want to go someday. i don't think it will be 2010 though because if we have a baby it may not be worth it. i know universal has a lot of thrill rides and i'd rather go when my kid can ride those things, too. i can't wait to get to savannah....we need some beach time! we're actually staying out on tybee island which is 20 minutes from savannah but we'll be going to savannah a good bit. it's such a pretty city!

I understand about not being interested in harry potter before. my husband randomly decided to start reading them this past summer and we got through all of them in about 2 months between the two of us! Between those and the Twilight series, I don't think I've read so much, so quickly ever. They're all really entertaining though, and I am psyched to see the wizarding world. We don't have kids yet, we're just going to let things happen I guess, but I figure I can go and I can always come back with my children when the time is right.

hey, everyone! just checking in to say hello and sorry it's taken me so long to do responses. i'm doing a doozie of a jury trial this week. it's a child molestation trial and those are always just horrible, even if the defendant is not guilty. the attorneys are estimating we'll be done next monday but i'm thinking more like next wednesday (as in a week from tomorrow) so i'm in for a long week! i will be SO READY to leave for savannah/tybee island thursday night!!! anyway, if i'm reading your TR i promise that one day i will catch up. even if it's not until christmas time!!! sorry i'm so behind....I MISS YOU GUYS!

i have some pictures i took from saturday at ruby falls and rock city that i want to post but i just don't have time right now. maybe later this week?

yeah, apparently maddox spends a good bit of time in that chair! brooklynn actually changed twice but i didn't get a picture of the second dress. she's a fashionista!

both of those series are such easy but GOOD reads! i'm going to re-read "new moon" before the movie comes out in november. i hated the first movie (and yes, "hate" is a strong word, but i HATED it!) so i'm hoping this one will be better. if they mess up "eclipse" i'm gonna be so peeved!

It must tend to get depressing listening to a bunch of bad/crazy stuff in court all the time. I know you need your escapes in a big way! I hope the case runs shorter than you expect and the decisions made are correct and just. Just keep your eyes on that Savannah trip!

i always tell people who ask me how i like my job that it makes me appreciate having a boring life! usually i'm pretty open-minded when it comes to things i hear in court and i try to give people the benefit of the doubt. but i'm pretty sure this guy needs to be put away for a very long time. i'm nervous for the victims' families if he's not. and yes, i'm very excited about savannah. i just hope we get some good weather!

hello, everyone! i've finally gotten a few minutes to sit down and share our pictures from last weekends trip to lookout mountain. believe it or not, i've never been to either ruby falls or rock city....and i grew up in tennessee! anyway, hope you enjoy!

this was last saturday (9/19) and it was VERY rainy here. the rain we drove through to get to chattanooga that day is actually part of the rain that flooded parts of atlanta. it was brutal!

we go to lookout mountain around 11:00 and it was still raining, so we decided to go to ruby falls first since it's inside.

this is ray's sister, terrie, and her son (our nephew), joshua....

we bought our tickets and took the elevator WAY DOWN into the mountain with our tour guide.

no, ray, your iphone will not get a signal inside of a mountain!!!

this picture shows where leo lambert, the guy who discovered ruby falls, had to crawl. see the dark area between the rock and the ceiling - that's where he had to crawl....for over 600 feet! i can't imagine crawling that far!!! memom and tinkgurl would not have done good down here.....even i was feeling a little claustrophobic.

this is where he first stood up after crawling that far....

the caves were really beautiful and the shape the rocks made were so interesting. here's the back of a donkey!

ray had to bend down every now and then to avoid hitting his head....

i don't know how many of you watch "man vs. wild," but i told ray to do his best impression of bear grylls hanging off the side of a mountain and this is what he gave me....

HOW LAME IS THAT????

(you will see a REAL bear grylls impression later on!)

smile....and say, "we're in the middle of a mountain!"

finally we made it into the actual falls area. when they first take you in, the lights are off and you're not really sure where the falls are. then they light it up and it's really beautiful!

they let you walk around underneath the waterfall and it reminded me of the jungle cruise....THE BACK SIDE OF WATER!

more cool stuff in the caves as we walked back out....

the high voltage box is where mr. lambert came into the cave when he discovered it....

after we came out of the cave, we were all hungry so we got some sandwiches from the little cafe there. we had to sit outside and luckily there was a covered area because it was still kinda drizzly. here's the view from the deck....

while we were eating the sun started peaking through the clouds, so we decided to head onward to rock city. it's mostly outside so we didn't want to do it in the pouring rain, but it looked like the rain was going to subside for a little while!

we got to rock city around 2:30 and the first thing we see is....

they're everywhere!!!!! i'm not complaining though. i was happy to get a caramel machiatto iced coffee.

the gardens were just GORGEOUS! especially because it had rained and everything was so green. i felt like i was in some enchanted forest or something!

i thought this was a neat way to say, "don't litter."

hold your breath!

we saw a white deer but he was hiding away from the rain. i didn't see any of his friends, either.

we couldn't resist this one! thank goodness for the self-timer on my camera and the park bench across the walkway to sit it on.

time for a swing bridge! i love these. of course i'm not afraid of heights....my sister would FREAK out on this thing.

what we were looking at....

i doubt we could actually see all 7 states that day - it was very hazy and cloudy because of the weather. on a sunny day i bet the view is breathtaking! it was still pretty on that day....just kinda fuzzy!

we went into another cave and when i came around the corner my husband was hanging from the side. i have no idea.

we then went into a little area called fairy tale caverns, which of course i was all excited about. but it ended up being creepy. i don't know why but all these little scenes just looked freakish to me.

and this one was REALLY weird. it's humpty dumpy but he has little naked babies around him????

after the fairy tale caverns we came to the end of the trail. we looked around the shops a little bit and i bought a "see rock city" barn christmas ornament, then we left. it was a good day and i'm glad we went, even if it was raining. i want to go back sometime on a clear day!
