~A XMAS STORY~decorations, crowds, pixies..AND A BLOODY NOSE~ACTUAL UPDATE 11/9 p190

I'm with you. My FAVORITE meal was Kona. I chose most of the same as you: Lapu Lapu, crab cakes, tuna oscar (OMG!!) and Kilauea torte along with the bread and the best butter in all of WDW. Sorry you didn't get to enjoy as much as you would have liked. Hope a good nights sleep finds you feeling better!

oooh Dawn you just really made me want to try a Kona dinner! The food looks great but just the atmosphere in there is so cool looking too. Its going on my to-do list LOL So sorry that your tummy wasn't feeling well that night and you didn't get to have your beloved lapu lapu! Thats on my to-do list too

Your Wishes pictures did not even come out bad either! I know its so hard to get good fireworks pictures without a tripod but you did really good! And the castle all lit up like that? WOW. I hope its like that by the time I go in November!! Great update, as usual :thumbsup2

and lest we not forget....THE FOOD!!!!! [/QUOTE said:
You have to make sure you get a hotdog from gray's papaya-best hotdog in New York as far as I'm concerned. I hope you have a great time, I will actually be in NYC myself starting May 27 with my dh and kiddos. they have never been and are super excited.

When you are downtown, make sure you leave time (and budget money) for shopping at Century 21 www.c21stores.com

Hope you liked your pendant that I sent you, our room looks amazing thanks to you!

Dawn,
So sad that you still were feeling yucky. Kona was my choice, but no one else wanted to go there, so not this trip- booooo! The castle looks fantastic, can't wait to hear how the next day went, hopefully you were back to normal!

Great update! Kona is one of my favorites too!

So sorry you were feeling yucky!

I hope you felt better the next day!

Another Kona fan here! That is one of our favorite restaurants and even more so now that they have a Sushi bar. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well, especially at your favorite restaurant. I hope the next day was better.

What a great update! I feel so bad for you though...no lapu lapu. :sad1: You poor thing. Sewer water!? Ewwww! :scared: That's all I drink too. Well, we're on the DlxDP so they better bring me some bottled water! Man.

The chocolate dessert at Kona is so good! One of my favorite things at Disney! Kona is delish! I like the glow cube pics! Luke is having so much fun with those!

How many more days 'til we might cross paths here? Wasn't AK your last visit? In my next update your pics will be posted! I think you'll be happy. :goodvibes

How cool you bumped into Scott, great photo too :)

I love Kona too, the food there is always very yummy, so sorry your tummy is still feeling bad

Joining the party here! :cool1:Better late than never, right? Got a lot of catching up to do! But...I have read in other trippies that you have an AWESOME Mexican Lasagne recipe posted somewhere here...Can you pls link me? Thanks...now I am off to more reading!:lmao:

BTW....just realized you will be visiting NY...whereabouts will you be staying? I am a 15 minute metro ride to midtown Manhattan. Any ?,'s pls give me a holler!

Oh no, I'm so sorry you still weren't feeling well :( I can never, EVER drink the water down in Florida. I hate drinking tap water here in NY and we have some of the cleanest, best-tasting tap water in the country. The water down in Florida tastes and smells like a mix of fluoride and the sewer and it skeeves me out! My brother's always annoyed too, because whenever he orders soda at a restaurant it's always watered down with tap water and it changes the taste completely :scared: I only drink bottled water when we're down there... I even brush my teeth with it. That's one thing I hate about being down there, I could never get used to the water

I loved all the Kona pics! We had lunch there back in 2006 and LOVED it. The crab cakes are sooooo good! I'm glad you had a good dinner, and I hope you started feeling better soon :goodvibes:

in honor of margot turning 1 month old today, i'm posting the video i took the night we met her since i *finally* got around to uploading it!

isn't she a cutie pie???

brett's hearing is in two weeks....we are counting the days! he's gotten to see her 3 times since that night at the hospital, all the visits being about 30 minutes each. at least he's getting to see her but it needs to be longer periods of time and with him on his own with his mom (my stepmom) at her house or something. not overnight yet but several hours at a time would be fine i would think until she's a little bit older. anyway, i had to share these with you guys. she's so precious!

ETA: i wanted to add something so you guys would know why i haven't posted any pictures since the ones i took the day she was born. jordan is not allowing our family to take pictures of her. i won't go into the details here because it's a long story, but basically it boils down to the fact that we have to play by her crazy rules until brett's hearing, where he will get his rights legally as a father. then i'm gonna take AS MANY PICTURES as i want to and put them up here to show my beautiful niece!!!!! i figured you all were probably wondering why i haven't put any more up and that's why. i also want to respect the fact that jordan is her mother and i don't have her permission to put anything up other than these pictures. i could probably get some off jordan's myspace page and put them here but i don't want to sink to that level. i will wait until brett has his rights and he gives me permission as her father to share the pictures the way i feel is appropriate and safe.

also, brett got to see margot today (5/15). he went to her one-month appointment with jordan and he said that they had a good talk, better than they've had in the past visits. he also said that margot checked out great with the doctor and that her little lip was quivering when she was crying while getting her shots and it made him want to yank that needle away from the doctor!!!! haha!

Too bad you weren't feeling well and couldn't get your Lapu Lapu.:sad1:Other than that Kona looks yummy. That is a restaurant that we are for sure going to.

Great castle pics!

thanks for the sympathy! kona is awesome - i highly recommend it!

:woohoo::woohoo:I"m First, I'm First!:woohoo::woohoo: Oh Darn it - where did she come from?:rotfl2:

Okay, since I'm editing:

"after meeting Scott and Biff we were buzzed" - :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Too bad that stomach bug hung on so long:sad2: I'm sorry.

I love your Kona pics! I've heard so much about breakfast there, which we loved - Dinner looks great - that's a "next time" for sure!:thumbsup2 I hope you start feeling better,

almost first!!!! you can still dance - i don't mind.

i totally didn't catch the "buzzing" comment. :rotfl: you should definitely try kona next time....sooooo good!

That terriaki filet looks so good! The castle looks so gorgeous!

it's actually a strip but it's still really tender and good! at least the times that ray's had it it was.

Whoa, that food looked yummy!

Honestly, I know what it feels like to be drained after the first few days of the trip. Sometimes it's just nice to head back to the room early and catch up on sleep. But, the castle with those lights looks beautiful! I hope to see it sometime in real life.

i will have plenty of castle lights coming up at MVMCP the next night!

It's funny that you said that about the water. I have felt that way many times when going to WDW, but not just at Disney. Sometimes at our hotels (we usually stay off-site) as soon as we would walk in, the rooms would smell bad and the bathrooms would be the worst. We realized that it was the water that smelled bad. I always thought that I was just over-sensitive, but everytime we go there throughout the years, that is one thing that still bothers me. Maybe they put chemicals in the water to purify it?? All I know is that I have a hard time re-filling my water bottles from the fountains because I know I won't like the way that it tastes. I think I'm going to try some Crystal Lite packets this time to see if it helps it taste better.

So sorry you missed your pineapple! I have never tried one before so it is now on my list. The castle shot from the end of Main Street is fabulous!

maybe it's just florida water? i don't know but it was gross! i have no idea if that's what made me sick but i have a feeling it did. you MUST try a lapu lapu. it's like $12 but worth every penny! and it's big enough to share - but i guarantee you'll want one of your own after you taste it!

DH and I ate at Kona's during our trip in Dec. I really liked the food but DH not so much :sad2: he doesn't like a lot of sauces and he likes his meat cooked really well. He did like dessert though.:thumbsup2
Sorry about the tummy bug. I've heard a lot of people complain about the water, guess I'll stick to bottled.

ray loves kona and so do i so it works out well! definitely stick to bottled!!!!!

Yay! We love Kona too! Those chicken wings are so good! I really wanted Conan to try the Kilauea Torte (so I could have a try!) but he got the Kona Cone instead! Bummer!

Oooh, and I totally agree about the Kona bread and butter - I could have just eaten that for my meal and I would have been totally happy!! Delicious!

I think we've discussed it before on my trip report, but the water at the WL stank like a sewer too! Ewww! I reckon that's partly what gave me my stomach problems too. Weird!

What pretty photos of MK at night! You all look a bit exhausted on the monorail - it's awful feeling tired at Disney, isn't it!? You try and tell yourself to perk up because it's Disney World, but sometimes there comes a point when you just have to crash! :confused3

Great update Dawn... look forward to hearing more! :yay:

i'm not a huge chocolate lover but anna is so i'm glad she got it so i could try it. i liked the white chocolate and raspberries more than the chocolate part! kona bread and butter = YUMMY! i wonder if they could ship some to me? that's so werid about the water at disney. now i know!!!!! i don't know why it never bothered me before. maybe different times of year? :confused3 we were SO tired at that point! and it carries over into the next day for all the adults but me!

Whenever we finally get to Kona, there is no doubt what I want - that teriyaki steak that always looks so good in everyone's pictures!

I am so sorry that you were feeling bad during the trip. It's just a 'bummer' to be in such a fun place for a short time and have any of the good times dampered by feeling bad. I've been there, and it's just annoying, but sometimes we just get the bad luck to have sick days and Disney days overlap. We can be thankful that those are few, though, and that most of our trip days we are feeling great and can go at full speed.

You came through even when sick, though, with lots of great pictures. Watching Wishes from the front ain't all bad sometimes, and you did get a head start on the traffic. We know what it is like to make the choice to give in and call it a night, especially with kids, even when we might want to keep going. It's usually best for all just to get on back and get the much needed rest. A comfortable bed feels really, really good at the end of a long Disney day!

are you guys going to kona next trip? i hope so - it's so good! you will LOVE that bread and butter! this is the first time i've been sick at disney and it wasn't bad enough where i couldn't grin and bear it, so i've been lucky.

I am coveting the teryaki steak and lapu lapu. It's on my must-do list. So sorry your stomach was still upset!

I think your Wishes pics turned out pretty darn good! And I totally agree - who can walk away from Wishes? :confused3

Good news about Anna's photos - hope they find them!

good choices for kona! ray loves that steak and of course the lapu lapu rocks. thanks about the pictures! i tried.

Kona always looks really good! That cream brulee is enough for me to go there.

You know right before you pointed out Luke's boo boo I noticed something was on his cheek but thought it was the camera angle, poor little guy. My DS7 went to school with a black eye the second day of school because he feel off monkey bars on school property the first day of school. When I picked up the kids from school we stayed to play outside for awhile and he was sweaty and slipped off and landed right on a rock or something. Of course two days later they had new mulch down to cover whatever he hit.

That castle looks awesome in pictures all lit up I could only imagine what it looks like in person - stunning I was guess.

it's always so good! one of my favorites. boys and their boo-boos!!!!! you guys will see that castle all lit up soon enough!

Aw man, I know how bad you wanted a lapu lapu! I am sorry you didn't feel good down there!

Your wishes pictures still looked good without the tripod!

Kona looks sooooooooooo good! It is on my to-do list! :goodvibes

yeah, you can feel my lapu lapu pain! you will love kona. especially since you can enjoy another one of our favorite drink! i will be super jealous.

i like how fireworks pics come out with out a tri pod, they look cool...high tech cameras make themlook to professional and store bought...ill stick with my mess up ones.
:rotfl:

oh, i can't wait to show you the ones i took at MVMCP. i had a tripod and i used that new setting i discovered at epcot our first night and they are so awesome!

OMG! The food here looks delicious! I've never eaten there, so it looks like a must for the next trip! And I just have to add that I am the same way with chicken on a bone! It disgusts me! People have always made fun of me for that! But I don't care...I think it's just gross and I refuse to eat it!

Awesome!:thumbsup2 The same thing happened to us on our last trip and the photo CM was so helpful! I think I would've cried if I hadn't been able to get our pictures!

you will love kona! it's one of our favorites. i'm glad i'm not the only person that's weird about chicken on a bone. it's just gross! it's so nice that they can usually find the pictures when you misplace the card. it's so scary to think you could lose them all!

Hope a good nights sleep finds you feeling better!

i wish i could've enjoyed our meal that night more than i did. but oh well - next time! that bread and butter is to die for.

oooh Dawn you just really made me want to try a Kona dinner! The food looks great but just the atmosphere in there is so cool looking too. Its going on my to-do list LOL So sorry that your tummy wasn't feeling well that night and you didn't get to have your beloved lapu lapu! Thats on my to-do list too

you guys should def. try kona next time - i bet you'd like it! and getting a lapu lapu is reason enough to do it alone! i'm thinking the castle was lit up in november. i know the osborne lights didn't start until after thanksgiving but i'm pretty sure they started lighting the castle earlier than that.

You have to make sure you get a hotdog from gray's papaya-best hotdog in New York as far as I'm concerned. I hope you have a great time, I will actually be in NYC myself starting May 27 with my dh and kiddos. they have never been and are super excited.

i've made a note! i had heard about gray's papaya before - we are food network addicts! yes, i LOVE the pendant! it's so cute. thanks!

Dawn,
So sad that you still were feeling yucky. Kona was my choice, but no one else wanted to go there, so not this trip- booooo! The castle looks fantastic, can't wait to hear how the next day went, hopefully you were back to normal!

hopefully one day you can make it to kona. it really is a nice little place, either for breakfast or dinner. i haven't tried lunch yet but i hear it's good too.

Great update! Kona is one of my favorites too!

So sorry you were feeling yucky!

I hope you felt better the next day!

thanks! i love me some kona too!

Another Kona fan here! That is one of our favorite restaurants and even more so now that they have a Sushi bar. :thumbsup2

i've never liked sushi. i'm a texture-based eater and every time i've tried it, it's been mushy. my sister says i just haven't tried the right kind and we're planning on getting some in NYC. we'll see!

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well, especially at your favorite restaurant. I hope the next day was better.

thanks. you will see hopefully in the next several days!

What a great update! I feel so bad for you though...no lapu lapu. :sad1: You poor thing. Sewer water!? Ewwww! :scared: That's all I drink too. Well, we're on the DlxDP so they better bring me some bottled water! Man.

thanks! no lapu lapu is definitely a let-down for me. it's something i really look forward to. come to think of it, i REALLY need to try to make one before i start trying to get pregnant!!!! :rotfl: AK was my last day and that was the day you guys were there. it's the next day in my TR. i should have an update done maybe this weekend - we'll see.

How cool you bumped into Scott, great photo too :)

I love Kona too, the food there is always very yummy, so sorry your tummy is still feeling bad

scott and biff were so nice! i'm glad we saw them. kona rocks!!!

it's never bothered me before - very strange! but it was so gross. never again will i drink it! kona is so awesome. i've never had lunch - glad to hear it's good too!

The videos of Margot are so cute. My son (who is 20 months) heard her crying and came running to my computer, where he kept staring at me like "what is wrong w/ her?" He LOVES other little kids.

It made me remember when I was in the hospital w/ him and how special it is for everyone to hold the baby for the first time. Babies are truly little miracles. Don't know too much about the situation w/ your brother, but I am hoping that he will soon get more extended visits w/ her. They change so much in those first few months, and I'm sure he wants as much bonding time with her as possible.

She's a very sweet baby!
I am praying that everything works out very well in court and that Brett and all of your family can be more active in her life.

Margot is so precious!!!! I will be keeping Brett in my prayers for his hearing soon!:goodvibes

I'm hoping and praying too! Your brother needs more time to luv on and care for that sweet baby girl!

I noticed you have 6 Days until NYC!!! :goodvibes
