I watched a bit of the YouTube clip this morning after you posted it, and that part has been stuck in my head allllll day, Dawn!!

they closed the show with it. that's ray's favorite too so i called him during that song. i don't know if you've ever played guitar hero or rock band? that song is on both!

i'm sure you know this but i didn't tape that (the linked video). i was actually not taping the song because i had my phone out and didn't have enough hands (had my coat and purse in the other because we had started walking down towards the exit) and then when the sparklers starting come down i dropped everything and took my camera out and started videoing. so i will have that part when i upload my videos and you will here me screaming! i love it when he says, "sing me a lullaby!" and then the sparklers came down!

I give quite the rousing rendition of that song on Rock Band.

Oh, that's so awesome that you got to see the Killers! They're one of my favorites and I would LOVE to see them live someday. I'm glad you had a good time!

I loved the pictures from DHS too, especially the "we're engaged" one. And that guy...what the heck? I was wondering why there was a black bar over his eyes. Then I saw the close-up with the border.

I will also be watching the Superbowl--only for the commercials. I think that there's some 3-D thing during it, too. I work in a grocery store and we've been giving away the glasses, so that's the only reason I knew about it. I have to remember to pick some up before I leave there tonight!

Oh My Gosh, I was laughing so much during this update! First that photopass of the big guy at the beginning I was literally rolling laughing at that! Then Anna's border/caption thing on the one of Chris and Pluto! Holy moly I was dyinggg

Anyway, I can't believe how cold it was!! It was almost 40 degrees here today and I'm in NY! Crazy. At least you guys didn't let it ruin your time!

yep, it is! see, i couldn't go during the summer. 90-degree weather + humidity x crowds = a very unhappy dawn. i couldn't handle it. i don't know how you guys do it! i know you have to because you're a teacher but i think i'd have to brave either christmas or spring break crowds just so i wouldn't have deal with the hot weather, too! but if doesn't bother you as much as it does me, more power to you.

Boy that sure looks cold, days like that make me want to rethink a December trip. The decorations are so cute though...........

I noticed that guy in the very first picture. What the HECK??????? All I can say is that maybe he really had no idea he was in your picture? Hard to believe it though. But it does make the picture funny.

well, i think we had unusually cold weather. i know the next week it warmed up a lot there. you should've seen that guy when anna, etc. were getting their picture taken. he was standing like 3 feet away from anna on the side just staring at them like, "what are you doing???"

that dude in the photo was pretty funny, but the best was the 'proposal' bwahahahaha!

a lot of you asked what tink and the tinker fairies brought for luke. well, since they came every night that he showed good behavior, they brought him several things. i don't remember all of it, but i know that some of the gifts were a kaliedoscope, some matchbox cars, candy, a movie and one of those weasle ball things. i know there were a few other things but i can't remember them all. the fairies got a lot of it at the dollar spot at target and dollar tree stores just to keep it simple.

How cute that Tinkerbell came to visit Luke thanks to his good behavior. Green pixie dust and all! What a great idea!

Luke's face in the parking lot with his hat and gloves on is priceless. He's like "dude... why is it so cold?"
Yikes- those crowds are scary. I think that TSM has really added to the opening crowds.

Hi Dawn! Great update! So, remember when I told you we were at DHS at the same time as you guys? Well, here I am (actually the back of me ), to the right of Chris, green sweatshirt, dark jeans... walking to see Beauty and the Beast! It's a small world after all! (I know, wrong park )

that is so cool!!! how funny. right about that time i'm guessing that ray and i were dropping 13 stories right down the street!

Loved the update! All of your photopass pics are great, my favorite being the "We're Engaged" one That was halarious! Luke looked so excited to get his pluto - funny, our Luke picked one out on our first trip too, it's a bigger one but he still has it.
Glad you got Toy Story FP's. that ride is insane, I hope it dies down soon, it's impossible to ride if you get to the parks later in the day. Can't wait to see your Osborne lights pics, I want to go there so badly during that time of year.

thanks! yeah, i thought that engaged picture was just hilarious. anna got the idea after she saw an edit that i did on one of my fairy pictures, which you will see later on. cute that your luke got a pluto doll, too! this was luke's 3rd trip but the first time he went they only stayed 2 days and the second time was when they came to the pirate and princess party with us last year, so it was just for one night. this was his first "full" trip. the osborne lights were my favorite!!! i can't wait to share them with you guys.

OK, I will admit...right now 40 degrees sounds downright balmy to me but definitely NOT what you would expect at WDW!! I can't believe Ray was wearing shorts We are supposed to hit 40 tomorrow here and I am very about it but I will still be wearing my winter clothes!

Wow, crowds! How close to Christmas was this?

yeah, ray wore shores despite my warnings every single day of our trip except for the last day, which was our warmest day. go figure! he kept saying, "i'm in florida - i'm wearing shorts!" i don't care what state i'm in - when it's 40 degrees i don't wear shorts.

this would've been friday, december 12th. when we were deciding when to go i heard that the first two weeks of december were awesome crowdwise. so originally we booked the first weekend (wednesday - monday). but then when i found out that the christmas parade was being taped on saturday, december 6th, i nixed that idea. saturday was the only day of our trip with no MVMCP and seeing as we weren't buying park hoppers, we needed that saturday for our MK day. NO WAY was i going to MK on the day of the parade taping! so we switched to the next week. well, thanks to samantha brown, the secret of the second week of december IS OUT!!!!

I'm sure Luke scored some points with Pluto showing up with a plush one. That's great.

I noticed that guy in your photopass picture before I scrolled down to where you isolated on him. I thought it was a shame there was some guy right there with a weird look on his face.

That is an absolute hilarious photopass cropping job. Definitely something to be remembered. I think Brooklynn could give Luke's bedhead a run for his money. His is thicker, but hers is longer. Luke is too cute buying his Pluto. Brooklynn was the same way when we let her buy her Ariel doll. It went with us everywhere in October.

It being cold in Florida just isn't right! I can't even imagine it... it's usually 95-degrees with 100% humidity when we're there I love all the pictures, especially the one of your little friend there When I first saw the picture of you and Ray I noticed that you'd blocked out his eyes and was wondering why... too funny!

I have caught up on your trip. Your pictures are great. I am sorry that you had such cold weather. We were there the week after you and we had temperatures in the low 80s. The crowds were the worst I had ever seen as well. We have never been in the summer however.

Tower of Terror is my daughter's favorite ride, probably mine too. I wish we could ride it everyday as well.

Thanks for sharing your trip. I am really enjoying it. It is always fun to see kids having so much fun with the characters.

I am SO GLAD we missed that 40 degree day. OMG. I would have frozen to death being outside all day in that. Is this the day before I arrived? Was it really cold and then it warmed up? I remember you saying something about the full moon at DHS. I came in the next evening. It wasn't too bad that next night. We needed a light jacket but it wasn't anything near 40.

yes, this was the friday of our trip. i believe you guys arrived the next day because that sunday we were both at AK, right? friday was our coldest day. saturday it was still chilly in the morning and at night but sunday it warmed up a lot.

yeah, luke looks just like chris but he ACTS just like anna. i have no idea what that guy did. i don't remember anyone else waiting so i'm sure he was next. but luckily the photopass guy handled it well when he tried to walk up in front of anna. that's so funny about "holding himself"....i thought so too!

i didn't wake up until 10:30 yesterday!!! i got home around 1:00 and ray was still up and we started watching a movie on HBO, so we didn't get to bed until around 3:30. luckily we didn't have much going on yesterday (other than me busting my hiney to get work done by the end of the month) so we just slept in. i guess we should enjoy that option before we have a kid!

just got these from my brother. his baby is due on april 12th but they don't think jordan (the mother) is going to last that long because her cervix is already thinning. they had a 4-D ultrasound done awhile back and i've been waiting on these for awhile now!

brett (my brother) got really excited because her toe next to the big toe is longer like his.

i can't wait to meet her!

Oh WOW - first off, I just have to say those ultrasound pix are amazing! I'm always so amazed by them. I look at my two girls and I can't believe they were once that tiny -- and inside of me!

Great pix from DHS! Boy, it did look cold! If it was that chilly during the day, I can only imagine what it like after dark during the Osbourne Lights. If I remember correctly, they sell some hot toddies to keep you warm!

BTW - also loved Luke's Cars' hat and mittens. So cute!

so i FINALLY got all my pics and video uploaded. if you don't know who the killers are and don't care, please just skip this. if you don't know who they are and are curious and like good music....then keep reading. if you know who they are and are a fan....definitely keep reading!

here's a pic of them in case you're not familiar. you will see we were in nosebleed so you can't really tell what the band looks like from our videos and pictures.

they are from the las vegas area and their first big hit was "mr. brightside," so that may ring a few bells. brandon flowers, the lead singer, is an amazing performer and, surprisingly for a rock star, is a very devout mormon who is married with one child. he's really cute too. and the only guy i know of who i think looks hot in eyeliner. see?

although i don't think he's been wearing it lately.

anyway, on to our evening!

of course we took lots of pics. anna is the picture queen! she takes way more than i do, believe it or not.

ray stayed home. he hates big crowds and despises going to concerts, so i'm nice and don't make him. he got a new video game on friday so he was occupied. here are the boys begging him for some pizza.

and enjoying said pizza....

we were gonna leave around 4:30 and go to wolfgang puck express for dinner, but chris couldn't get off in time so we didn't leave until around 6:30 and we stopped at the BP for a sandwich out of the to-go area. big difference!

here's the opening band, M83. they were okay - very techno-y.

like i said, we had nosebleed seats, about 3 rows from the back. i didn't mind though. anna bought them awhile after they were released (we didn't know about the show until later) and so all the good seats were sold out. actually, the entire venue was sold out for the show!

i texted heather (hlrababy) to see if she was there as we were walking in. she was and she ended up texting me later to tell me they were on teh 3rd row!!!!!! while we were waiting in line to get a drink she texted me again and said there were 4 empty seats next to them and if no one showed up we could borrow their tickets and use them. i was like..... OF COURSE!!!!!!! well, right before the show started people showed up. oh, well! heather and i made plans to meet after the show.

being silly! when we took this we were laughing so hard!!!!! see that girl behind us? she was SO OBNOXIOUS during the show. she was SCREAMING the songs in my ear and her voice was just horrible. don't get me wrong - i sing at concerts. it's hard not to. but keep it low so that the people around me can't really hear it. this girl was SCREAMING!!!!!! i looked at her a couple of times and she finally ended up kinda quietening down later.

finally the show started!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will just post the pictures. i took lots more but i'm just posting the decent ones.

they ended the show with "when you were young" and near the end after he sings, "they say the devil's water, it ain't so sweet, you don't have to drink right now, but you can dip your feet, every once in a little while" he screams, "SING ME A LULLABY!!!!!" and then these sparklers fell down. so awesome!

now for the videos!!!! i took LOTS of videos. please forgive the bounciness. i can't help myself when i hear music. plus i was as zoomed in as i could be and when i'm so zoomed in any little movement looks really bad. and i really wasn't singing very loudly. my camera was right in front of my face so it sounds loud. i realize i can't carry a tune to save my life so please ignore my singing!

they opened the show with "spaceman," which is the only song my sister wanted to hear. so when i realized what it was, i had to get my phone out quickly and call her. you can hear me say, "it's spaceman!!!!"

"this is your life" listen for the people behind me singing. it was SO LOUD!



"bling" i love the lights on the background screen in this one!



"human" this is the single that's out on the radio right now. again, great lights on the background!



"mr. brightside" this video is awful because i was dancing so much - sorry! oh, and this is the one and only time i screamed while i was singing when i scream "it was only a kiss!" but it sounds REALLY loud because my camera was right in front of my face.



"all these things that i've done" this was such a great song! i love how they put the words up behind them. for some reason my phone was acting odd so it stopped recording twice. at the end of the first video and at the beginning of the second one you can see the confetti coming down.







"jenny was a friend of mine" this was during the encore and we had moved down to the exit area, so we were closer. again, my camera stopped recording for some reason.





"when you were young" they closed the show with this. it's one of ray's favorites so i called him and i had put my camera in my pocket. well, when the sparklers came down, i got my camera out and got the rest of the song. i wish i would've gotten the whole thing!

after the show i called heather and she met me in the lobby. she was so sweet!!!!! i'm so glad we met.

she said she thought the show was really good too. i'm glad she enjoyed it - i love when people discover new music! anyway, we stood there for awhile and talked about hollie (her DD) and luke and just had a good time. then they started to lock the doors so we had to go.

after that we went to taco cabana to have a real dinner and then headed home. i got to bed pretty late and we slept in on saturday. i got up to use the bathroom and when i came back to get my phone off my night stand look what i found.....

anyway, that was our night. we had a lot of fun and i'm SO glad i finally got to see them live! i've been wanting to since 2004 but something's always happening when they come through town and i can't go. it was a GREAT show!
