~A XMAS STORY~decorations, crowds, pixies..AND A BLOODY NOSE~ACTUAL UPDATE 11/9 p190

Fun mini TR of Atlanta, haven't been since the 96' Olympics. I don't count layovers during Airtran flights.:lmao: We have an IKEA about 90 minutes from our house. I used to go when my girls were setting up their dorm rooms/apartments. It is really fun to explore, and you really can't beat the prices.
Great pictures of Epcot at night. Some of those Photopass pictures are so funny. :rotfl2:
Going to Cheesecake Factory tomorrow to celebrate my DD birthday, can't wait. Yum!

I love Ikea, but I'm pretty sure there are smaller malls than the size of some Ikeas.

Great mini TR. We just ate at WPE a few weeks ago, on our last trip. It was so good. I remembered reading your previous TR's and seeing how good the food looked so I had to try it out. I've never been to Ikea. I don't think there's one anywhere around us. That man on the bus would have freaked me out so bad. First off, I hate things that smell, but I really hate confrontations too. Sound like you had a great trip. Sometimes those short ones are alot of fun.

It is nice to get away, even if it was only for two nights. Too bad you had to drive back to work on Friday. But, oh well. I LOVE IKEA! I've only been once, but it was so much fun. I went by myself and I know it would've been more fun with friends. Sorry you killed your feet to get there.

OMG DAWN! That is the exact hotel that we've stayed at two times in Nashville on our way down. The room looked exactly like yours did-only with two beds instead of one. And we used the pull out couch. I LOVED the swivel tv!!!

Glad to hear the arm is alot better. :thumbsup2

Your pics and video were a wonderful treat to see. :)

It's nice to get away even for a few days, your room looked very nice & clean.

We have an Ikea here and its so fun to go in and look around. My DD loves to sit in the rooms all decorated and pretend it's hers. She tries all the beds and decides which is her favorite. :rotfl: Like Goldilocks.
If we want a cheap meal we go in for the hotdogs and cinnamon buns.
I have a Duvet cover and bedding set from there on my wish list, but there always seems to be something else to pay for instead. :upsidedow

Cirque de Soleil is amazing, and Canadian !!!! :cheer2:

I saw Kooza when it was in Hartford, CT last year. It was a great show but the one at Disney was better. Glad to hear your arm is feeling better.

Dawn - loved your mini tr to atlanta. It is nice to get away even if it's your state. Your arm looks great, ouch, now matter how big you don't think it is.

Isn't it just nice to get away, even if it is only for a night or 2, just to get out of town for a while? I definitely think so, so I can relate to you haha. Sorry about your mile walk to Ikea, you definitely filled the exercise quota for like a good month or so with that :rotfl2: The hotel looks really nice too and what a great touch to have a swivel TV in there too :thumbsup2

Good pictures. Last time we were in Atlanta, the traffic was bumper to bumper for miles and miles and miles. That was the Sunday after Thanksgiving when we were trying to get home from WDW. That was a memorable (in a bad way) ride. I need to think good thoughts of Atlanta to offset that!

The food looks good!

You got lots of goodies for not much cost.
Kitchen shears - great things.
Baby blanket - yay!
What's the latest in baby news?

Glad to see your boo-boo is healing up!

I used to go to Atlanto every year to stay with my Aunt who lives in Buckhead. The last time I went was last year in January. We went to the Atlanta station and I HATED that place. :lmao: The stores that were there weren't any different then you'd find in any mall and in the mall it isn't freezing. :rotfl:

That is scary about the homeless guy. :scared: You know you want to feel bad for people like that, but some of them seriously don't know how to act. I don't know how many times I've been stopped in Atlanta and asked for money .. it's sad.

OMG....NO WAY!!!!! I'M GOING TO THAT SHOW!!!!!!!!! very cool! where are your seats? anna has our tickets but i'll find out where our seats are. maybe we can meet before the show? just depends on what time we get there, i guess. i LOVE the killers! they are the only band that i NEED to see that i haven't yet. i'm so excited!

OMG!!! THAT IS TOO FUNNY!!!!
Amy is actually picking up our tickets at will call! So, we don't know where they are yet. She said that they were supposed to be really good seats, so we will see!
My niece is sooooooo excited!!!! She loves them!!
That will be cool to have a mini dis meet!!:lmao:

That room looks nice. I need info for this place. I'm so picky about where I stay, esp in ATL but DD wants to go see the American Girl store. I could stay here...it looks clean and roomy. So send me the info girly. :thumbsup2

The mac n cheese looks YUM! OMG. I want some!

My dream is to one day go to Disney on the next plan up after deluxe. Not the biggest package but the next to biggest where ALL meals count as 1 credit no matter where you go...even V & A'a! And you get all tours included....all recreation....OMG. One day I wanna do this! You should do it before you guys have kids. Even if you did it for 3 days. OMG could you imagine?

ok finally caught up ....again!! I love your pics at Epcot at night!! I just love it there after the sun goes down, its truly beautiful! I got a little teary eyed at the video of the christmas arch and the monorail going by...i loved it there at christmas time so much..and i just miss it ! ...But i am very happy to "re-live" it through your report!
Glad that the arm is healing nicely...and Atlanta looks fun, thats one city i have not been too yet! Ikea is magical and GINORMOUS..we have one about 30 minutes from us and we can easily spend 2 hours there!

Thanks for the update Dawn! It made me a bit homesick though. :sad1: My high school is having their last Basketball Homecoming this weekend. (next year it will start being during Football season) I sooooo want to go, but DS has a 4:45 basketball game and I have already missed two of his games so I don't want to miss anymore.

- I grew up in Atlanta, and where Dawn stayed and where the American Girl store is are FAR APART!!! You might want to find somewhere a little closer. Just a suggestion. ;)

I might be a bit late but I found your TR...XOKTENOX mentioned your pictures of Teppen Edo--I went when it was a different name but from what I remember it was good :)

Great Update !! I accidently increased ize to 125% ad couldn't figure outwhy you had these huge pix !:rotfl2:
Anyway I am planning on an early night , not feeling to well!!:sad2:

thanks! my picture are always big anyway but i like them like that. hope you're feeling better by now!

That clip was hilarious!!! I can't wait to show Charles -- he will get a kick out of it, too! :rotfl:

I am very jealous that you and Heather are headed to The Killers concert! Chelsea and I LOVE their music! Over Christmas one of our songs on the iPod was their "Don't Shoot Me, Santa" -- not to mention all of their other stuff.

Your pictures from the liquor store cracked me up!!! :rotfl2:

Wasn't IKEA crazy??? I have to be in the right frame of mind to tackle the store -- the first time I went with a friend, I called my mom and said, "It's like Disney World for home decorating." Next time, bring home a big tray of their cinnamon rolls from the food area -- they are delicious!

did charles like the aladdin clip?

i haven't heard that santa song! i need to go look it up. i LOVE their new CD - you should check it out. my favorite song on it (right now - it will probably change) is "dustland fairytale." i will take pictures and possibly video for you at the concert!

i want to go back to ikea but, like you said, i have to be in the right frame of mind and in comfy shoes!!! cinnamon rolls - got it.

Going to Cheesecake Factory tomorrow to celebrate my DD birthday, can't wait. Yum!

thanks! i was living in nashville during the 1996 olympics and flew down to go see some of the events with ray (he was living here) and that's the weekend of the bombing, so they closed everything down! i was so disappointed. hope you had food at cheesecake factory! i've never been there but i need to go - we have one in atlanta.

you tell such a funny story--I love hearing about your traveling adventures:happy:

thanks! glad i could entertain you.

I love Ikea, but I'm pretty sure there are smaller malls than the size of some Ikeas.

:rotfl: seriously!

glad you liked WPE - it's sooooo good! i'm just glad that guy didn't have a knife or a gun - you never know nowadays!

It is nice to get away, even if it was only for two nights. Too bad you had to drive back to work on Friday. But, oh well. I LOVE IKEA! I've only been once, but it was so much fun. I went by myself and I know it would've been more fun with friends. Sorry you killed your feet to get there.

it's not too bad of a drive - i'm used to it. i go to atlanta a few times a month for depositions. it's all interstate so it's not too terrible. i want to go back to ikea when i'm more mentally prepared! :rotfl:

OMG DAWN! That is the exact hotel that we've stayed at two times in Nashville on our way down. The room looked exactly like yours did-only with two beds instead of one. And we used the pull out couch. I LOVED the swivel tv!!!

small world! do you remember where in nashville it was, like what road? i'm from there and very familiar with all the areas. it was a nice hotel!

Glad to hear the arm is alot better. :thumbsup2

thanks! so cute about your DD - i could totally see myself doing that as a kid! did you see the canadian flag on top of the cirque tent?

I saw Kooza when it was in Hartford, CT last year. It was a great show but the one at Disney was better. Glad to hear your arm is feeling better.

thanks! yeah, i want to see a cirque show - maybe the one at disney next time we go in december 2010!

Oh yeah! I forgot you're from there. Um..good question. Here's the actual name and street (I Googled it! haha) Hyatt Place Opryland: 220 Rudy's Circle.
