~A XMAS STORY~decorations, crowds, pixies..AND A BLOODY NOSE~ACTUAL UPDATE 11/9 p190

THAT WAS A FANTASTIC IDEA FOR A BDAY! :thumbsup2

Looked like alot of fun, and very cool.

I like how she had decorated the pavillion with the lanterns and little torches.

Cute idea to have the kids go on a hunt.....for the cake!

The water looked so clear and sandy.

Luke seemed to enjoy it all, I'm sure he will remember this bday for sure. :goodvibes

Awww, the pic of your pups asleep in the car is so adorable.

Are you going to have enough room for a carseat and your furbabies next year? :rotfl:

Aw...the party looked great. Looks like a party Dave would plan for Amelia. He can't wait until she gets older so he can take her camping. Not me I'm an inside girl!:lmao: Earlier in the week we took Amelia to the park to play in that hour I got like 15 bug bites! I told him we could go camping if he could get rid of the bugs, and have running water!

Love the pics of the boys sleeping!

hey, guys! i have a question for you all about prenatals. i'm taking neevo right now and they're great. i haven't had any side effects that i can tell. so i called my doctor and she called in the prescription and when i called the pharmacy to see how much they were, they were $54 for a month's supply. they're a "tier 3" medicine on my insurance which means the co-pay is $65. of course they just charge you the full $54 instead of the co-pay. the whole reason i got on ray's insurance (besides maternity coverage) was to take advantage of the co-pays. the tier 1 co-pay is $15 and the tier 2 is $45. i called my doctor to see if they could recommend another kind of prenatal that was cheaper and she wants to look at the list of medications my insurance covers, so while i'm waiting on that list to be mailed to me she gave me 2 more boxes of samples of neevo. anyway, so my question is does anyone have another kind they can recommend to me?

Okay Dawn I just got all caught up. I just took the Target brand prenatals with both girls. I think it was like $10 for 200 or something like that. I will also comment on those August babies (Brooklynn's birthday is August 16th) It was definitely hot and slightly uncomfortable, but so totally worth it! I was actually more impatient with Isabella in April then I was with Brooklynn. Congrats on the new vehicle as well. Happy belated birthday to Luke! So sorry to hear about Lucy. She was adorable and the story of how she came to be a part of the family was precious. I of course loved your update with the Jungle Parade as that is one of our favorites and the pics Anna took at WL are gorgeous. I think that is all I had to catch up on. Hope to see you Saturday evening!

LOVE the birthday update!! such a cool kid...LOVED the Luke's clues idea....
BUT..those darn dogs steal the show for me..it seriously looks like they are smiling in the "family pic" with you and Ray...TOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!! and eli sleeping!!! :) love it!!!

Luke is such a doll thanks for sharing his birthday!

So sorry about Lucy it is never easy to lose a beloved member of your family.
I somehow missed that Ray's Mom had taken Zolo I'm happy to hear that, I seriously considered emailing you about taking him, but knew getting a dog just wasn't a good idea at the time.

Eli sleeping standing up is just precious, I'm so in love with him right now :lovestruc

Aw, that picture of Eli sleeping standing up is sooooo cute!!!!

Evelyn looks just like my cousin Jessica when she was little to a scary degree!

What a fun idea for a birthday party. It looks like everyone had a great time!

What a great idea for a birthday party! The Lukes Clues game was really cool, especially that thumbs up picture

Your dogs are so freakin adorable! My dog falls asleep standing up sometimes too but thats just because shes dumb and wont lay down LOL

It looks like Luke had an awesome birthday! Luke's Clue's - what a great idea! :thumbsup2 And don't worry - you and Ray will know ALL about Blue's Clue's soon enough ;) Maddie started watching it around 18 months old and still will watch it if she finds it on TV - it's a cute show though, so I don't mind.

i really wanted to at least respond to you guys tonight but i'm leaving for nashville tomorrow and i have a deposition at 11:00 before i leave, plus i was in court until around 6:30 tonight, so i'm behind. just got finished packing and now i have to do 693 other little things before i leave. hope you guys have a good weekend!

by the way, i went to the doc today for my yearly exam and she started me on prenatal vitamins.

I was going to tell you that my first and second pregnancy I took prescription prenatal's but with my third I did over the counter ones. Just show them to your doctor. As long as the percents of what your getting are the same, you're good.

we got some sad news a couple of hours ago. lucy, ray's mom's beagle, passed away today. she was 14 years old and has been in bad health for awhile now. we knew it was coming but it doesn't make it any less sad.

so i thought i'd remember her here just to sort of help myself with the situation.

the story of lucy is really cute. ray and i had been dating almost a year in november 1994. we worked at a restaurant in downtown nashville and on the weekends instead of driving all the way back to our hometown (about a 30-40 minute drive) we'd stay at my dad's house because he lived pretty close to downtown. i would sleep with my sister and ray would stay in what used to be my bedroom.

ray has always suffered from occasional insomnia so one night he was sitting up and everyone in the house was asleep. at the time my sister was 11 and my brother 8 so all my parents had in the house were disney movies and other kid-friendly stuff. so ray put in "the fox and the hound" to pass the time while he couldn't sleep. he had never seen it before.

the next day was a sunday and we had to be at work for the lunch shift. on the way ray wanted to stop and buy a sunday paper. i asked why as this was unusual for him and he said he wanted to look at the classifieds because he wanted to get a HOOOOOOOOOOOUNNNNNNNND dog! :goodvibes it was the cutest thing i've ever heard!

so we found an ad for beagle puppies, called the number and went to check them out after work. $40 and one scared little puppy later we had a new beagle hound named lucy!

ray still lived at home with his mom at the time and so we didn't exactly have her permission to get another dog. i too still lived at home and my mom is not a dog person so we knew lucy would live with ray. when we took her back to ray's house that night he walked into his house with her stuffed down in his winter jacket (it was cold out) with only her little head hanging out the top. his mom just looked at him and said, "no way. i already have 2 dogs. NO WAY!!!!!!" she told us we had to get rid of her and we had a month to do it.

needless to say, that never happened. we sort of just didn't bring it up again and eventually she became a part of the family. ray and his family moved to georgia a year later and when ray decided to get his own apartment a few months later, he made plans to take lucy with him and his mom was like, "um......no......she's MY dog!" :rotfl2: that's why we ended up getting sherman a few years later.

lucy has always been sort of "ours" just because we picked her out. sometime around 1998 she swallowed a button off the couch and had to have surgery to have it removed from her stomach. not a major surgery except that a spinal disc slipped into her spinal cord and paralized her from the waste down. it was the saddest thing i've ever seen. she fortunately got the function back in her legs after about two weeks but she's never been the same since.

anyway, here's our dear little lucy. this was taken not long after we got her.

i took her to meet my grandparents around the same time. my grandmother took this one of us.

here's a couple more a few years later. i'm guessing this was 2002, right after ray and i got married because we were still in our apartment. lucy would've been about 8 years old here. you can tell how she aged really quickly after her surgery incident, but she was still a sweetie!!!

this was taken around 2005. lucy and sherman actually getting along for 10 minutes to take a nap together!

ray and i are going to his mom's house to plant a butterfly bush over lucy's grave tomorrow. we've had it for about 2 weeks now - like i said, we knew it was coming.

she will be missed. :sad1:

That's a great story. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Happy Belated Birthday Luke! That camping party looked awesome, great idea Anna!

Dawn guess what my dates for next year are? November 25th through Dec 7th. Do you think we might be actually able to meet in REAL life?!

Have a great weekend Dawn. Are you going to the mini dis meet with MeMom and friends?

Luke's birthday looks like it was a blast. He is lucky to have a mom and dad who would make his birthday such a special event. I am sure he will always remember it.

Since she may be in transit, I'll answer for her.
She said she was going to try, but she has to see Margot whenever Brett has her, so that takes priority, of course.
I hope it works out that she'll be able to spend lots of time with Margot and make it to the Hippo Meet! :)
