A Wish Granted - One Magical Morning Photopass PICS! 10/12

What an awesome experience! The empty park and car ride were cool, but just being there to see the magic, that's the best thing of all! Thank you so much for sharing. Can't wait to hear more!

I came home tonight and rushed to this TR - :sad2:

I was hoping for the next installment.

What a pleasant surprise! :) Long-time DIS-member, however I don't often get to log in much these days (I poke in once in a while when I can) So glad I stumbled upon this...I'm a current WDW RR Steam Train Engineer!! :D

I remember this day...I was operating one of the other trains. Sadly, I did not get to sign the boys' hats; however I did see them with their engineer hats on through the doorway of Main Street Station as I was pulling in :)
This is a tremendously wonderful pictorial recap of their Magical Day! These photos speak volumes :thumbsup2 I will be sure to forward the link on to Engineer Ed...I'm sure he would love to see this.

THANK YOU for being a Disney CM! As you can see here, we love our Disney CM's!!

OMGosh Maroo, I am now in tears from just reading this. Thank you and Licas' family for sharing this wonderful experience with us. I am so happy for y'all that it was so filled with surprises.

Will there be more?

Looking through the pictures again and it gives me goosebumps. What a wonderful morning so far. . .

Looking forward to reading more.:surfweb:

I believe there will be more.

I know that Maroo was pretty sick since coming back, and Lucas had aome major scans and Dr. Appts this week, so both Maroo and Lucas' mom are probably just taking care of other things at the moment.

That being said, I need another installment! ;)

Will popcorn work as a bribe?popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

How cool is it that you all got to open the Magic Kingdom that day. I always wished I can do that one day. That was a really special treat and especially when you got a real spike from the WDW Railroad. CONGRATS! :-)

What a magical day :cloud9: - memories that all of you will treasure :grouphug:
I just love how Mickey bent down and opened his arm and the boys went running over to him - I had to get the tissues out::MickeyMo

Thanks to everyone who played a part in making this day so special for this brave boy and his family :thanks:

:sad1:This is the most heartwarming true story I have ever read!!
I have heard that disney does some really wonderful things for folks
and kids with special needs but this is truly an amazing and magical
adventure in its hugest form!!! Disney ROCKS and as for you Maroo
you are as special as they come, God Bless!

Hi guys!!!

Boy! I have a BUNCH of posts to respond to!

I want to give you guys an update on things around here and beg you to wait a bit for the next update. :thumbsup2

I have one more update before I am going to need Photopass Pics to tell the rest of the story!

Meanwhile, Lori - Lucas' Mom - has started a trip report on her thread...

Lucas' Pre-Trip report and Trip Report

I am just getting back to work after being off for almost a week. I will be able to update again this evening, hopefully!

The post with Mickey opening up his arms for the boys to run to just choked me up (literally, I was eating skittles and when I saw that I just couldn't handle it). I am so glad that this family got to experience all the wonders that they did. I can't wait to read about the rest of their experiences.

You are a special person. I work for a company that hires people to work with the eldelry and disabled. And most of them are only worried about the paycheck. To "meet" someone who LOVES helping out others is truely magical.

Can't wait for the rest. I hope you have a great day.
:goodvibes

Glad to see you back and healthy (?) again Maroo! (I am assuming that you are healthy since you are back at work!

Wow what a fantastic morning, truly a day to remember :goodvibes

I'm lucky enough to be a member of the Disney World Moms Panel and all the panel have got together and raised quite a bit of money for Give Kids The World, we're presenting it to them next week, so it was so lovely to read what good work they do :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for raising the money for GKTW. It is truly a wonderful place. They make you feel so special while you are there and it is truly a magical place.

Believe it or not I believe I remember seeing you. I was noticing a woman was an engineer and I thought that was so cool.

Words justcannot express our deep appreciation for the engineers at MK they made Lucas feel so special that day. Everyone was so kind and patient with him. He has fallen in love with those trains. He recieved a train from Disney and has been playing trains at Disney.

We is already asking when he can come back to visit the trains at Disney.
