A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

Maybe you can make a duct tape wrap to go with the bikini? :lmao:

The President Obama stuffed animal is TOO FUNNY. :rotfl2:

We had arrived at a practically empty castle in eager anticipation of rope drop and all that Fantasyland had to offer to those that chose to arrive early! As I've said many times before we had never ridden Dumbo and I was so hopeful to get there before the crows arrived. We had walked past many times before and the line was just too long and since this attraction doesn't have fast pass we had just passed it by. My dream was to capture a flying picture like LL's that was able to adequately express our joy and love for Disney.
Park guests began to line up next to and behind us for the much anticipated rope drop time. As we stood patiently waiting at the rope.....

(notice my Teva Mush flip flops, I will discuss them later}
This kind fairy Godmother stopped to say hello. We had met her a couple of years ago while dining at CRT and honestly I thought she had "eyes" for Marc but this time she had left him in the dust to cozy up to Baylor with some much appreciated attention!

An empty Fantasyland stretched out before us, don't you just love to see the parks sparkling and waiting for you to enjoy?

The sky was clear and it looked like it was going to be a scorcher but we were happy to see that there were no rain clouds and we had our plan. Get some fun rides in and then go back and spend the day at Storm Along Bay. We were going to move fast and get to the Hunny Pots right after Dumbo, then over to BTMRR!

185.jpg

We knew the crowd was going to move fast so we thought it best not to try to walk, trot or otherwise just short of run as a group. Baylor would walk with Marc and I would make my way to Dumbo on my own. The plan was to meet up there! Rope drop at DHS for TSM was going through my mine as was the masses moving to Soarin' at Epcot. I told my guys to be prepared for a quick pace.

The rope dropped. The guys moved over to the right and I stayed straight. Yes, we were walking fast. Then it happened.....

Someone stepped on the back of my Teva.

My foot was moving forward with great force and my Teva did not, this resulted in my flip flop being torn from my foot as the crowd kept advancing all around me.

The pain seared through my foot as I heard some one laugh and say, "look, someone lost their flip flop".

Strollers rolled over it and the people kept coming as I stood in shock. There was no excuse me, I'm sorry I stepped on the back of your flip flop, let me help you, it was Disney at it's worst. Every man for himself.....

I eventually was able to make my way back to retrieve it. I tried to put it back on and walk but the ugly purple mark was already showing and it hurt terribly under the strap. I limped over to Dumbo where Marc and Baylor were quite a ways up in line, wondering what in the world had happened to me and where I had been.
I was almost in tears when I found them and couldn't really even describe what had happened. I cut in line with them, something that I would normally never do.:sad2: I limped over to my much anticipated date with the flying elephant but much of my magic was lost. :sad1:
We rode Dumbo.....and I forced a smile.... then told Marc not to bother with anymore pictures.
:headache:

Up next, my foot was starting to swell, it was our last full day, what do you do now that you can't walk without the the strap rubbing on the injury.....

The picture of Baylor walking with his president doll peeking over his shoulder is so funny!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:
Only Baylor would walk around oblivious to the horrified stares of our fellow Kansans.... It was funny, and a very funny picture!
The Obama doll is definitely funny, but my favorite has to be the Beer Garden! Any OoomPaa bands in there??? :lmao:
My guess would be some country music playing inside this particular Beer Garden.....

I loved the duct tape camo pants. Too cool!! The bikini...maybe not!!
Some folks got quite creative with that duct tape. I actually think LL is pining away for that bikini.....

I have to agree though-- fair food is the best. Those potato chips looked yummo!!
Oh my gosh, they were good, today is the last day of the fair and I'm fighting the urge to head back that way for another go at some yummy fair food.

LOL!! I love the pictures of Disney memories found at the Kansas State Fair!! That is too funny!!!
Did any of it look familiar to you? We had fun looking for Disney comparisons!

YAY for Baylor winning and the pictures of him and the President are too hilarious!! I"m sure he is having a blast with that LOL!!
He has him posed in his room, anxiously awaiting his friends to visit and meet his dignified roommate. :rotfl:

Maybe you can make a duct tape wrap to go with the bikini? :lmao:
I'm planning to make you a set too!
The President Obama stuffed animal is TOO FUNNY. :rotfl2:
That boy loves his president!

I always worry when I wear backless shoes of any kind at Disney or anywhere that will happen... sorry!

As a Conservative I had to say "What on earth was Baylor thinking getting that stuffed Obama??!!" But I have to admit that seeing a stuffed Obama...and seeing Baylor toting him around is pretty funny! :rotfl:

 about the Dumbo dash! You can tell the smile is a bit forced in the Dumbo picture. Sorry that happened to you and that people we so rude.

Once again your pictures are lovely...:goodvibes

I am so sorry about the Teva/mob rush incident...

It makes you extra sad when something like that happens at Disney...:confused3...as much as I adore Disney...(obviously) those morning rope drop mob scenes upset me...I'm not sure what the solution is and God knows I'm there too to get an early start...but some of the behaviour...:confused3

Most recently the TSM rush at the Studios really had me a little freaked out...I actually picked David up...and at 7-he's a handful but I was worried he could get hurt...

I have to think that most people are well intentioned but it just shows you how easily a mob mentality can take over...I wish I knew what the solution was...

Ooo-I hope your day isn't ruined...

Oh No!! And after you finally got your shot at Dumbo too. It is amazing how people act sometimes. :sad2:

(And, Anita, I answered you about the cruise on my pretrippie.)

That is horrible!! I think the rope drop-ers at Fantasyland are some of the meanest. We had runs in last September. What jerks! :headache:

I always worry when I wear backless shoes of any kind at Disney or anywhere that will happen... sorry!
I know, Marc said that from now on he will stay behind me, to that I replied then it will be you that steps on the back of my flip flop..... He assured me that wouldn't be the case.
As a Conservative I had to say "What on earth was Baylor thinking getting that stuffed Obama??!!" But I have to admit that seeing a stuffed Obama...and seeing Baylor toting him around is pretty funny! :rotfl:
It was a hoot, I got to hold him while the guys went into the restroom, I sure got some stares!
 about the Dumbo dash! You can tell the smile is a bit forced in the Dumbo picture. Sorry that happened to you and that people we so rude.
The rudeness at Disney never ceases to amaze me! I would never ignore something like that, and if I had caused someone to lose a shoe I would have been trying to help and apologize like crazy!
Once again your pictures are lovely...:goodvibes
I think this particular MK morning I took the nicest pictures of the trip!

I am so sorry about the Teva/mob rush incident...
Thanks for the hug, it was a most unpleasant incident!

It makes you extra sad when something like that happens at Disney...:confused3...as much as I adore Disney...(obviously) those morning rope drop mob scenes upset me...I'm not sure what the solution is and God knows I'm there too to get an early start...but some of the behaviour...:confused3
It's insane, you would think that they had just said the park is going to implode, run for you lives!

Most recently the TSM rush at the Studios really had me a little freaked out...I actually picked David up...and at 7-he's a handful but I was worried he could get hurt...
We never actually join in on the TSM rush, I just sent Marc for fast passes....We also have never just gone on into the standby and had the opportunity to see the whole que.

I have to think that most people are well intentioned but it just shows you how easily a mob mentality can take over...I wish I knew what the solution was...

Ooo-I hope your day isn't ruined...
Let's just say my mood was slightly unelevated.....

Rude people make me seethe!!! :headache:
I would have to say that's my only gripe with Disney, rude guests.

What a darling picture of Baylor with the Fairy Godmother though!
It was cute and again, I wonder when he will stop posing so happily with those characters, hmmmm, I hope not too soon.

Oh No!! And after you finally got your shot at Dumbo too. It is amazing how people act sometimes. :sad2:
Sometimes people are really nice at Disney, but sometimes they are just horrid!

That is horrible!! I think the rope drop-ers at Fantasyland are some of the meanest. We had runs in last September. What jerks! :headache:
It makes me wonder if we will attempt it in December, I would love to see Harper riding Dumbo though!

I haven't started a pre-trip for December, I will just as soon as this trip report is finished.
Tomorrow is ADR day for us, Marc and I will be up early, I think 5:00 is when we can start making online reservations.....
For some reason we are thinking that we are not going to get our most sought after meals.
:confused3

Ooo...I've never been to a state fair...hmmm...I think we have one in Pa.-near Harrisburg but I'm not sure...

A Kansas state fair sounds like the real deal...:thumbsup2

What did you and the 60 2nd graders & company do there?:goodvibes

This was the offical Kansas State Fair poster.....

I think these building are so cute, and I always love empty streets in any park at any time of day or night in Disney World!

So sorry that you had to walk around with foot pain. That does put a damper on a fun time.

I noticed Max has on a very American t-shirt. A gift from you?

I just love to get pictures without unknown people in them! I agree those building are just adorable!

You and LL are the experts on touring pain. Hopefully we all have our problems solved now!

Yes, we had to state the fact very quickly that this is a house of The University of Kansas, not Kansas State!

She has asked me to make her one!!!!! :cool1:

I don't think soooooo.

You are right nothing is more fun than seeing an empty MK and its lands!!

How nice of the Fairy Godmother to stop by and say hi!!!!

However I am sorry you had to deal with some rude people and the pain of hurting your foot! It would have ruined the magic for me too!!! I think you should try it again and get your beloved Dumbo picture, don't let the inconsiderate people get you down!!

I can't wait to hear more about the rest of your day!!

Oh and make sure Marc posts a picture of the duct tape bikini when its done LOL~~:rotfl:

I had a blast yesterday watching the game...there is no one I would rather see KU beat than Duke...I think that comes from my utter disgust of them from B-ball...but I think you'll understand LOL!!!!!

I usually just get over the rudeness of others when we are there, but this was a little different, I could barely walk.....

I can't wait to hear more about the rest of your day!!
I do seem to be dragging this out, all I have is the rest of this day and then our departure day..... booo hisss!

Oh and make sure Marc posts a picture of the duct tape bikini when its done LOL~~:rotfl:
;/quote]
It will probably look like a wadded up piece of duct tape.....

Playing Duke in football is the best, playing them in basketball, :scared1: As I type this and realize that I will finish it off by changing the font and turning it purple I think it's time to get this finished so I can write in a new color. What was I thinking?!?
