This is the last time we went dancing....

I am guessing that Wigd. was pleased to see this photo and be reminded of days gone by, I am sure it brought back such fond memories!! I am sure that you and Wigd. had many wonderful times out on the dance floor!! It is clear that you and Wigd. still share those wonderful times "together", only now, it's here for our enjoyment that you two dance around each other!! OH, I meant "with" each other!!! I do hate that the photo didn't show the person off to the side cranking the old phonograph to really bring us back to YOUR days!!!

I am glad that Harper went in to the see the Dr., but I like Mimi would be saying keep an eye on that baby!!! I hope she is all better and soon!!!!!

As far as the Vegas trip, I do hope that it is not only SAFE for you and Shocker, but that it is loaded with lots of fun!! I have no doubt that with the two of you, even with the slogan (What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas) we have nothing to fear........if anything good happens (and that can be "good" as in good or "good" as in entertaining) that one of you will not let it stay in Vegas!!

Shocker has indeed done well with the flowers in your back yard.......oh, and you watering them as been good too!!! They are pretty!! I wish I had a green thumb or even the desire to tackle sucha project!! Anyway, from all the previous post, it seems I recall that Shocker was the one always WORKING in the backyard......putting up the gazebo, having to run to Home Depot, falling off the ladder, doing this and doing that.......I am just guessing that he was also "instructed" where and what to plant and you have since taken over the watering of them??? As far as the Mickey Gnome, I would say it looked like Shocker might have fallen on it and squished it, when he fell from the ladder, but after seeing Mickey's Hat.........I'm pretty sure we would have known that was what happened if it had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried changing his mind today, but he seems set on it.

Here's a bit of good news.....Maybe only Chelsea will need braces. I got away with only one out of two children needing braces! Then when those braces come off you can have a huge celebration in your DVC villa!

Sadly Connor's teeth look just like Chelsea's teeth -- which look like mine and my mother's teeth so there will be no escaping for the next four years, but then we will have a HUGE celebration!

Just a little personal update...
Many of you know that Shocker and I are leaving Saturday (I have no clue what time) to fly to Vegas for a work related conference. I have nothing packed, no lists made, not a single thing planned for our non working hours... I hope I still have plenty of travel size toiletries left from the conference in Arizona last Jan. I am so spoiled by our purple locker that I have a tough time packing to go anywhere besides Disney... I will have another update completed before we leave and will be on here bunches up until probably Friday night when I really need to get packed. Well and if we don't leave too early I imagine that I'll sneak on Saturday too. Besides I'm taking my computer so I hope to be on while we are in Sin City....
I'm not sure if I will be able to do a mini trippie because you know what they say... "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"......

No kids, Baylor is staying with his sister.... we are going with a group of teachers from Shocker's present and my old school along with the principal as well. It really is a fun group of people to travel with!

I just got a call from Megan (dd21 and mommy to Harper). Harper has had diarrhea for two days which I attributed to teething, she was playing and drinking Pedialyte. Now she is throwing everything up and her diapers are dry. I told Megan to call the doctor now. I'm a worried Mimi right now....

Please keep us posted as to what Megan finds out about Harper -- I am worried now, too.

woohoo I made it to the last post!! I wanted to update mine today but I think I have to be a semi responsible teacher and start to figure out what I am doing next year, since I will be going in two weeks to set up my class. EW! Since it is only my 3rd year teaching and 2nd year at this school, I brought ALL my stuff home because last year I switched classes after school started and never got organized. My goal this year is to be organized... and of course have some smart kids by the end of 3rd grade haha

Maybe tomorrow I will do an update. I am trying to hold off until we get our proofs but then that is over 500 pictures I will have to go through... maybe I should do the update before getting them haha

If you wanna someday give me some tips on teaching I would be so appreciative

Oh and 336 points?! That is a lot... we looked at just the 160 but then one of the mgrs told us that he and his wife buy 25 more points each year when they get their taxes. I thought that was pretty clever.

What is your conference for?

I never seem to plan for other vacations like I do for disney. But then I've never gone anywhere else that was count down calandar worthy.

Officially it's the National Conference for Differentiated Instruction. It's about reaching students at varied levels of ability...

Thanks, and I will admit, he does help some when I'm planting. He totes the bags of potting soil in the wheel barrow....

I wanted to update mine today but I think I have to be a semi responsible teacher and start to figure out what I am doing next year, since I will be going in two weeks to set up my class.

We report back on the 11th of August, but I've been working some this summer since I moved from one school to another and am teaching a different grade level.

Since it is only my 3rd year teaching and 2nd year at this school, I brought ALL my stuff home because last year I switched classes after school started and never got organized. My goal this year is to be organized... and of course have some smart kids by the end of 3rd grade haha

I always try to be organized too, I brought it all home then have been going through box by box taking to school only what I thought I would need. This is your third year? You will do great!

On a light note...... Superb job with the pics tonight Shocker. Especially the pathetic little mickey gnome. I guess I probably shouldn't complement you too much. I know wigd doesn't want it going to your head!

On a serious note.....I hope Harper is doing better tonight. I absolutely hated when my kids had the N/V/D thing. It is so nerve-wracking. I found that pedialyte pops were the absolute best. They always resulted in a wet diaper. I don't know if they make them anymore, but if they do I recommend keeping them on hand.

Today is day 5 and the plan is to be at DHS at rope drop. We woke up to the alarm and got ready for our day. After a quick breakfast in the room we hopped the boat to DHS. We just made it in time for rope drop and Shocker was off like a bullet for TSM fast passes. Baylor and I decided to hang back and avoid the stampede. As we walked to meet up with Shocker we spotted these...

We found Shocker in line and he wasn't too far back!

TOT was just a 20 minute wait so we went for it, Baylor not wanting to ride dumped himself in the dump shop. We made it to the elevator in 6 minutes!

Saw these in line ...

After the ride we decided to check out Star Tours. On the way we stopped by the taxi.

and a fancy car...

We stopped and did a little shopping and that's when I spied the Mickey Fit Flops, I really liked them but they only had them in a size 6 and that wasn't going to work for me. So the hunt began, we were now hunting the Mickey Bar bag and Fit Flops....

We grabbed fast passes for Star Tours and took a few pictures on the way over to American Idol.

Anyone would think that a child that could follow directions would have no fear of Jo!

But he wanted no part of her....

We made it to American Idol just in time to follow the line all the way down, filling in all seats, score we were right in the middle!

The guy and his kids behind us must not have heard the directions because they just came in and sat in the middle, leaving about 20 seats on the other side of them. The theater started really filling up and a CM came out and asked them to please move down. The kids, actually 2 pre-teen girls stood up to move and the dad told them to sit back down, they weren't moving. The girls were super embarrassed because dad was arguing and there was a line waiting for them to move. A second CM came out and dad was not budging... This was also going on behind him too, a woman was argueing with a CM because she wasn't going to move down either. The CM's gave up and the line crawled over them....
I used my stealth powers and took his picture over my shoulder.....

We rode TSM, I beat Baylor and he was mad! I can't help it, I become the competitor when we get on this ride...

Shocker beat me though, oh well.....

We had some time before our lunch ressie so off we went in search of adventure...
Somebody got in trouble and got put in the Star Wars stocks.....

I guess we all got in trouble, probably disorderly conduct.

We passed by a counter service and thought of our friend Blessedaddy, notice Shocker is flashing his sign for BD....

As we turned the corner we saw a truck pull up and the guys got out, it was "Mulch, Sweat, and Shears Landscaping. They were getting ready to put on a rock and roll show. We stopped and listened.

hmm I can't figure out how to quote what you responded to me, so that I could respond to you... so I will just do my best without quoting...

I didn't use the links because, well, I have no idea why. I guess I just kinda skimmed through some of the chatting. It's my 3rd year teaching BUT my first year teaching I started a month into the year teaching 3 grades 3 subjects. Then last year I started teaching 2nd grade and a month into the school year I had to switch to 3rd grade. So, assuming I don't get switched a month in, this will be my first full year in the same grade. The problem is that our district the students transfer so much that we never know how many students we have and after 20 school days they switch people all around based on numbers. If we have enough students for me to stay at my school, I may still have to switch grades. Then there is also the chance we won't have enough students for all the teachers we have and I am at the bottom of the seniority list, which means I go to a surplus fair and find a new school. I am hoping 1. we have enough students where I don't have to switch anything or 2. we hire someone else new that has less seniority than me haha

A dis teacher thread could get crazy haha teachers are crazy in our own right and then add disney craziness to the mix haha. Our bulletin board theme has to be hopes and dreams and I THINK my title is going to be "3-05 (thats my grade and section)... where hopes and dreams come true" and have the 4 park icons on there and have my students write their hopes and dreams in little mickey heads. Is that cute?

Ok I think I have babbled enough here haha I am going to try and catch up on the bachelorette...anyone here watch that? I am two episodes behind right now but I am PRETTY MAD at her lol

MeMom, it was the safari bulletin board idea, I jumped on ebay and found the safari Mickey and Minnie (didn't want to be a total copy cat) and am going to do a welcome to 2nd grade bulletin board with them... I found some stuff at Oriental Trading for it too.
When I get it all done I'll post a pic!

I will look forward to seeing the picture. Do you have the animal print letters? I had the ones that had zebra, cheetah, giraffe, etc. print, so it looked pretty cool.
