A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

Ok first off I thought it was how many manpris you saw, now that I know its how many you took pictures of I want to change my vote to oh 90. You were there 2 weeks so I have to take that into account.
Great update. I think we are going to try the brown derby this next time. Did you not do the fantasmic package? I love salmon so I will have to give that a try.
Also when in is your trip in December. We will be checking into pop on Jan. 8th and then to akv the 11th
Wow bd your up late! Where are you from? I know it is 2am here, but of course I'm a night owl and I work nights. So Im up most nights.

MeMom! Have you tried a brace? I hurt my knee years ago and at the time when it bothered me, just having a brace helped a lot... :confused3

I might try that first. Simplest things first, right? Do you just go to a medical supply store, I guess?

......you ALSO noticed that the GIRLS were the ONLY ones getting to plan and then they were ONLY inviting who they wanted......

Well, you know how the popular girls are! They run the school! :rotfl:

Oh no! Is there medication that a doctor can prescribe for your knee or a shot he could give you before you go?

All staterooms are above the water line -- that was a big thing for me -- I couldn't stand the thought of being underwater. :scared: Which is ironic since my dad was a submariner when he was in the Navy. I clearly didn't get my claustrophobia from him.

I will pass along your comments. :goodvibes It doesn't help that her friends keep filling her ears about the painfulness of everything. :headache:

I wish I could be sure a doctor would just give me a shot or medication and not want to go into a thousand tests, etc.

You had to go and say the word submarine!!!
I'm done for the day!

Tell Chelsea's friends to hush. Poor girl. When does all her work start?

MeMom, now I'm all worried about your knee, have you ever driven an ECV? Don't let pain ruin your trip.........

OK, so maybe a brace would be worth a try.....

Jill has already mentioned that, but that will definitely be a last resort.
I may break down and try to just go to a walk-in clinic and see if they'd give me a cortizone shot to see if it helps. If so, I could get one right before I left maybe.

Right now, I'm just annoyed that it is getting in the way of my excitement of the trip, but I know it is nothing compared to what many people endure every day, so I need to be grateful and not grumbly. :)

The good thing about getting an "official" diagnosis, is that there are things like gout, injuries like sprains and tears that may be treatable by different means. I hope it doesn't cramp your vacation too badly!! Another plus is if it is osteoarthritis you can get a cortisone shot that will often give you a lt of relief!! Good luck!!

I'm hoping the RN in your name means you are right about this!
Can a walk-in place do it, or do I have to see a specialist. I don't have just a general doctor. I had a bunch of cancer doctors when I had my surgery, but not just a regular doctor. If I go to a walk-in place, would they be likely to give me a cortizone shot at least to try and see if that helps?

WOW, thank you so much for the invite, such a carefully worded invitation, I am impressed. I am sort of like MeMom though......was really just wanting to be included, the only difference between us is that with me being CHEAP is what would likely keep me from boarding such a Magical Ship!!

MeMom, I do hope that you find some relief before you trip!!

Whereas for me it would be cheap and claustrophobic. CC. Coincidentally, those are my initials in real life. :)

I am hoping for relief, as well, or some serious doses of tolerance, fortitude, and endurance. I've made it very clear that this will be a slow-paced trip for me, but that they need to go on without me. I'll catch up eventually, and it will give me more time to take pictures along the way. :goodvibes

Sorry for the sidetracking of your report. I sort of turned it into a medical convention. It's just been getting progressively worse, and the snap, crackle, pop is a constant reminder that this upcoming trip is going to have to be different, so I'm just aggravated at myself for being lame. I can't stand going to doctors for any reason, but I may have to give in and do that if I can't remedy this myself.

Maybe I need to find Granny Clampett and get her to give me one of her special tonics! :rotfl:

And could you please tell CP that she is not allowed to say the word submarine over here! She's killing me! :crazy2:

MeMom, I think you could get a brace anywhere but a medical supply store might have ones that a little more heavy duty.

I will broach the subject of a cruise. We'll see how my Marc feels about it.

DOUBLE WOW and why yes, thank you so much Wigd. I never expected such a special and expensive offer........I am almost speechless!! It is so nice of you to offer to take our lovely family on a cruise with you. Of course, you can talk to Tracy, I will make sure that she can get you our SS numbers and any other information you might need to be able to add us to your account, so that you can fulfill this MAGICAL DREAM COME TRUE for me!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!

Relax, Shocker..........I know what Wigd. meant!!! Now you get back to counting Manpris and send me my prize!!!! :rotfl2:

MeMom, I do hope that you find some relief before you trip!!
You could just start saving now or get a loan from Gracie and Barrie, I hear they are loaded!

I'm thinking they weren't having Fantasmic that night, it's one of those shows that I think everyone should see but since we have seen it a few times I won't go to special measures to see it (unless we have newbies with us). Our Dec trip is the 20/25, Kidani. We will be long gone and back to school before you even arrive.:sad1:

Psssst, why don't you just try the doctor first?:goodvibes

Well, you know how the popular girls are! They run the school! :rotfl:

Actually I think we just had a great idea, not a new idea just a really fun idea!
It would be so much fun to gather all of our DISfriends together for a fun filled gabfest of a cruise!

I wish I could be sure a doctor would just give me a shot or medication and not want to go into a thousand tests, etc.

Maybe the doctor could actually help you, for the sake of Disney what do you think?

Jill has already mentioned that, but that will definitely be a last resort.

OK, the walk-in clinic is sounding better, and you have a right to be grumbly, the darn knee acting up and all.........

I'm hoping the RN in your name means you are right about this!

You might need to see an orthopedic specialist.........but start with the general, sounds like he could pull rank and get you whatever help you need!:goodvibes

If the doctor doesn't work I think you might need some of grannies special tonics!:dance3:
Good job on your report
Thanks Tina, as you can see we cover a wide range of topics over here, feel free to pipe in at any point!:goodvibes

I promise not to say "that word" anymore, MeMom! :lmao:
Taken care of ;)
MeMom, I think you could get a brace anywhere but a medical supply store might have ones that a little more heavy duty.
Are those the kind that are black and elastic? With a hole at the knee?
I will broach the subject of a cruise. We'll see how my Marc feels about it.
Broach away! You may even need to resort to justification, so have your list ready!.....:rotfl:

What a fun and spirited exchange! :goodvibes You guys are too much fun.

Having been on the 3-day cruise myself, I would for sure encourage at least a 4 day. It was a blast but 3 days just didn't seem like enough time to really explore the ship and all it had to offer. Sounds like you all would have a blast! :cool1:

I read your update then all the posts and I kind of forgot what the update was about. I do remember reading that a little boy threw a ring that your son gave him. I am sorry to say that I could totally see my 6 yr. old son doing that. He would be in trouble for doing it, but if he is in a bad mood he would probably do that. It was very nice of your son to share though. I also remember you getting out of line for BTM and I would have definitely done the same. I don't know what I would do if they ever took FastPass away. I hate standing in line.

Fast pass is the way to go, IF the line had been moving or IF it had been cool, or at least a breeze had been coming our way, we might have waited it out. It was hot and it felt like we were running out of air in that packed ride queue.

Loving your report! I found myself laughing out loud at all the banter...and the Manpri pictures/counts....oh that is hilarious!

My guess is 27.

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: Too funny!

Joe and I are thinking about a Disney cruise next year too-I've read a few TRs with cruises and it just looks soooooo nice! The DIS Podcast Cruise is December 12 - 4 day cruise. Fun on a boat with a zillion DISers. :thumbsup2

I will put you down for 27 on the manpris count! The podcast cruise sounds like so much fun, but until they have one that happens when the kids are on break from school, this teacher won't be able to go. I had hoped that the 2010 pod cruise would be in the summer but I think the rates were higher at that time so they went with December. I hope you get to go!

Only this thread would have this many new pages, and no updates on the report. ;)

My manpris count is 43, but I have to say that my 7 year old wears boypris because the size shorts that fit him in the waist have legs that hang down his calves! He's a little pooh sized, but not enough for truly extended sizing.

Y'all are making me envious with the cruise talk, but we've got a big Disney trip coming up in October and there's no way I could get my hubby to agree to another Disney-related trip so soon. We've got an agreement - we only go every 3 years and he won't bother knit-picking my plans!

Awww, c'mon, I updated yesterday! Have you been in October before? We went last October and the weather was soooo nice! I just don't think I could possibly wait 3 years between visits. :sad2: You are a much stronger person than I am.:goodvibes

That's my problem, too. I was making myself sick looking at the low, low, low cruise prices during the off season, and then I slapped myself back into reality when I pictured myself walking into my principal's office and saying, "Could I take four of my personal days to go on a Disney cruise?" I would not be able to do it. :sad2:

You get four personal days!?! We get two, and if we choose we can trade two sick for another personal day........

You are a bad influence!!!! Sick days personal days.... shoot I have to be sick for three of my 6 days this coming week.... :rotfl: BUT no kids in session so I don't feel so guilty. My annual leave doesn't kick in for the next year until July 15!

RE the CRUISE.. Wow. All I can tell you is that when we went a few years ago, BC (before children ;)) It was devine! Castaway Cay is SO cool. The boat was AMAZING.... :goodvibes

Saggin' is against the dress code in our district, they have to go to the nurse and get the waist tied up if they are too large...:rotfl2:

Oh yes, ours too, but it is hard to enforce en masse... and it is comical to see them try and climb stairs
