We are staying at AKV-Kidani in October. Our flight departs at 1:55pm so I am planning on a DME pickup time of around 11am. We would like to eat breakfast at Boma on our departure day. So, since DME picks up at both Kidani and Jambo, does it matter if I board at Jambo instead of Kidani? My sister's family is staying with us and they are not joining us for breakfast. They would be able to retrieve our luggage from Bell Services and bring it out to the bus with their stuff. That way, we wouldn't have to trek back to Kidani to catch the bus. Would this be a problem? I know that AKL/AKV is a unique entity in that it is treated as one resort, but the DME has two separate stops. Right now, our ADR is for 10am and I think that we would be cutting it too close if we have to go back to Kidani to catch the bus.

I think you are cutting it too close. They recommend you are at the stop 10 to 15 minutes early. Sometimes you are not seated at a restaurant for 10 to 15 minutes.

I backed up the breakfast to 9:30, but I am still curious if I can board the DME bus at Jambo if I am staying at Kidani. AFAIK, the AKV is the only resort that has 2 DME stops. I forgot that we won't be at Jambo when I booked breakfast. It's kind of a tradition for us to eat breakfast at Boma on our departure day. I totally forgot we will be staying at Kidani.

You have to get on DME at the resort you're staying at so you'll be scheduled to get on the bus at Kidani. You'll need to go back there. DME runs on an "on demand" schedule so if no one is scheduled to be picked up at Jambo at that time there won't be a bus.

AKL Jambo/AKV Kidani aren't the only linked resorts. For example, Beach and Yacht Club and POR/POFQ are also linked resorts with separate DME pick ups and you have to get the bus where you are registered.

You should call the toll-free number on your DME voucher and ask if you can move your pick up to the other location. I would guess they can do that. But make sure your luggage is being handled properly and explained by your sister as that will confuse the driver.

Be early for your breakfast, and get your check done before you finish eating so you can just get up and go upstairs at 10:45.

FWIW, the 2 times I have taken DME to AKL - Jambo...it did not continue on to Kidani after (nobody was going there). So, I would not count on the bus coming to Jambo before/after Kidani....

You would need to call and see if they would work with you on that.

If nothing else, push breakfast back to about 830, you will be back to Kidani by about 10...plenty of time.

If there aren't any guests booked at Jambo House for DME at that rime, the bus won't be going there. It will go directly to Kidani, to pick you up. Your breakfast should t take any longer than an hour, and probably less....so much quicker than those with characters! You can walk back to Kidani...takes about 10 mins. So, if you stay with the 9:30 ADR, you could feasibly be done by 10:15, and back at Kidani by 10:30. You do need to be at the DME stop at least 15 mins prior to the time you are given. If it were me, I would try for a slightly earlier ADR time...if at all possible.
