A weird problem

Wow Minky, apparently you're depraved and perverted, you'd better check yerself into a clinic or something.

I once had a dream (this is completely true) about ducks wearing cowboy hats flying over a truck in the road between cornfields with my dad and my father in law in it. They were concerned because some of the ducks were losing their hats. Which one of us is crazier, hmmmm.... :rolleyes1

Never did find out the significance of the ducks in hats, either. I should look that up. ;)

:rotfl: thanks for the laugh. I was beginning to doubt myself.

Thank you. Not only am I not acting on fantasies, I have not even told anyone about this dream because it felt creepy. I turned to my (so-called) friends on the DIS to help me sort it out. I got a bit silly with it and now half of them think I'm a pervert.:sad2:
Well, count me in the half that does not think you're a pervert.

We can't control our dreams. Some people just like to take a tiny snippet of information and jump to conclusions. That's not your fault.

I think that there is a huge double standard in this forum. If I had posted this about one of my daughter's friends that many people in this thread would be out for my blood.

Yes possibliy--:confused3lots of double standards here on the DIS (as in life). Personally I would have the same reaction (assuming YOU had the same reaction to the dream--ie it freaked you out).

Obviously you're in love with Donald Duck but you have a kinky fantasy where he dresses up as Woody in Toy Story. The fact that he cheats on Daisy doesn't matter to you. You're disgusting.
:lmao:

if you posted that you had a sexy dream about a 23 year old woman I think you were a completely normal person. If the dream was about a minor I'd be sickened. But a grown woman?

Wow... I really *AM* disgusting!! :rotfl2:

You keep saying there is no attraction but look at what I bolded above.

Sorry, but it's totally inappropriate being your foster child and all. Keep saying it's nothing but I tend to not believe you based on the above comments.

Have you ever had a weird dream and then you were reminded of it? I'd posted that I had a really nasty dream about a spanish teacher...every time I saw him (in class, 5 days a week) I was reminded of the dream. Now, with that teacher, he was so ancient and ugly to me that I didn't have confused feelings, just grossed out feelings.

But, for instance, my husband's oldest friend was in some dreams of mine a few months ago, and it took a few times seeing him to stop having the, um, nicer parts of the dream flash through my head. He is NOT gross, so the dreams were making my days confusing when I saw him.

So the OP is dealing with it.

She obviously can't talk to her friends/family about it, and having it fester (like my Spanish teacher dream did b/c OMG who was I going to tell about it?) isn't good...so why not here? We all have dreams.

I remember my friend who had a baby while the Andrea Yates stuff was going on. My friend was sleep deprived and was having some dark feelings. Thankfully, instead of just feeling horrible and rotten, and keeping it all inside, she talked to me about it. Just the act of talking about it to a trusted person, who wasn't going to diagnose her with anything or go call CPS on her, lifted her burden, and she stopped having those dark thoughts. Talking about things can be a wonderful thing, and it's nice to find places where you feel safe (I still haven't really found one of those, but if the OP feels she's safe her, good for her!).
