When I purchased DVC in April, I sent in extra money, not sure if I had to pre-pay annual dues or not. Everything went through, and I get my annual dues statement in the mail today. It's showing that I have a credit of approximately $1900 (I grossly overpaid). In with the statement was a letter saying that I owed $559 for prorated annual dues. This directly conflicts with the statement I have indicating a $1900 credit.

Since Member Services is closed, I can't call until tomorrow morning about this. I'm hoping that someone here can help me out before the morning. Do I really owe $559, or will they subtract that from the credit I have? I don't want to lose my newly purchased DVC points, but I don't want to pay an additional $559 if it's unnecessary. Help? Thoughts/suggestions?

I'm sure that MS will easily straighten this out for you. It's likely that your overpayment (apparently $1900) will just be reduced by the prorated dues - still leaving an overpayment credit balance.

Because of the way they handle the accounting, it sounds as though you may have a credit for the overage you paid to DVD and yet still owe $559 for your dues to DVC. Since they are separate entities, they each have their own accounts, but I'd expect that MS can sort it out for you.

Why not simply buy some more points using that overpayment? :teeth:

Please report back after you speak with them tomorrow.

LOL Doc - I'm so tempted to buy more points! But at $95/point, I can only purchase an additional 20. I'd need at least 100 to cure my addonitis. :)

I just spoke with Member Accounting, and was told that the $559 would be subtracted from my credit, and I'm not responsible for paying it. Woohoo! What a relief; everything worked out!
