A week of eating, snacking and dining, lots of PICS! COMPLETED!

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!

I can SEE the grease on that taco shell for the taco salad. Wow!

Tangierine Cafe in Morocco This place is so great, DH and I like to eat here all the time so when we arrived at the YC we knew we were going to walk over and grab a bite. Well guess what, they removed the wonderful rotisserie chicken that DH and I always get. Didnt replace it with anything, just eliminated it. So we chose the meatball platter with saffron rice and a side of olive salad. I tried to get the tangerine daquiri but out of the 3 flavors that was the one flavor where the machine was not working.

The meatballs were very good and filling, too much sauce tho so the next time I will tell her light sauce. The saffron rice was great and the olive salad was tasty but I just had a bite because the high sodium in it makes my fingers swell like little sausages!

England Fish and Chips counter This is a new one for both DH and I, we have never eaten beer battered fish before. DH does not eat fish period and I have just started to eat whitefish like Haddock, Scrod, Grouper and Snook.

Since the line is always long and the food looks so good we decided to split and order and take our chances. Man this was GOOD! The batter was light and crispy, not greasy at all. The fish was white and flaky, melted in my mouth. DH was very surprised that he enjoyed it as much as he did. The fried were very greasy and soggy so we pitched those. Tried it with the malt vinegar but found we like it with tartar sauce better. Cannot wait to go back and order this again!

Thanks for the great review and pictures. I will have to try some of the fish and chips when we go.

Note to self: eat in England! Thanks for the tips and reviews! They are helpful!

Earl of Sandwich I really wanted to go to WPE but the line was super long and DH wasnt too hungy so we decided to try EoS again. We ate there when it first opened and didnt think much of it but he had his eye on the meatball sandwich....so that was that.

THe line was not bad at all, we ordered right away. The meatball for DH, which he loved...not too much sauce and the bread was wonderful. I had the mozzarella, tomato, basil with balsamic glaze. It needed a little salt and pepper on it but I liked it very much. We shared a strawberry jello with diced strawberries, honeydew and cantelope on top. THis was very refreshing. LOVE the earl gray lemonade...we will eat there again fo sure.

CS stand in CHina (forget the name) THis is our favorite stop for Peach Oolong Ice Tea and egg rolls. We were a bit hungrier than just that so we ordered the new shrimp fried rice (we were big fans of the old beef fried rice). The egg rolls are great, not greasy at all. The peach tea was alot sweeter than I remembered it so I did not drink that much of it. The rice was not really fried to me, more like steamed. It was super fluffy and moist and LOADED with shrimp. I could not believe how much there was, every spoonful brought up a shrimp.

Kona Dinner Because of all the great reviews and the fact that we were staying at the Poly we decided to go there for dinner. Did not know at the time that the menu had gone through some changes but that seemed to be a theme throughout all the restaurants, a few items gone and replaced with new items. I spoke to someone at the Cape May and they said that most restaurants go through changes 4 times a year, in time with the seasons.

We had reservations at 6:30 and were seated a bit before that. We had a nice little booth off to the right of the entrance, far enough away from all the noise of Ohana. They had some carved pumpkins up by the dessert show table. One of Stitch, one of the restaurant KONA and I think a white pumpkin painted to look like the Nightmare before Xmas character.

We started with a few cocktails, Lapu Lapu for DH and Pina Colada for me. The lapu lapu was huge but there was not that much drink in it...very deceiving. It was strong and very sour tasting, wouldnt get that again. THe Pina Colada was amazing, it was served in a large tiki glass, very cold and delicious.

Then came the bread, the most amazing soft yummy bread! I love the nut butter, the nuts had a very nice roasted flavor and pair that with the sweetened bread it was heaven! DH did not care for the butter but loved the bread, thats ok..more butter for me to slather on!

KonaBread.jpg

DH knew he was going to order wings...I have been showing him pictures from other Disers that have ordered them for months! They did not disappoint, they were amazing. The mustard drizzle was great, added a nice kick to the sweetness of the wings. We shared them, there are a lot on the plate. He liked the little salad that came with them.

KonaStickyWin.jpg

I was going to order the potstickers but was not overly hungry so I asked the waitress if it was possible to get a salad. She said she could bring me a kids salad...thats fine with me. THe only dressing they had was a vinegrette and ranch so I said ranch on the side it fine. She brought out this HUGE salad loaded with cucumber slices, grape tomatoes and all types of greens. It was awesome!

KonaHsSalad.jpg

DH ordered the teriyaki steak medium, again he knew this is what he was going to get because of all the great reviews. It was so good! Cooked perfectly, not a trace of fat on it and it was a very large cut. We shared it. The broccoli is not his thing but I loved it and the mashed potatoes were great, huge scoop of those.

Now I knew I was going to get the asian noodle dish but I did not read the description so I did not know the item had changed. I had the shrimp asian noodles and it was horrible. Loaded with peppers and pineapple and tons of shrimp but hardly any noodles and the flavor was so sicky sweet I could not eat it. The shrimp were great and alot of them so I picked around it. DH took it over and seasoned it with salt and pepper and that helped it a bit and he tried to finish it. Now this dish was not what I was expecting and not to my taste but there was nothing wrong with it if you know what I mean...if you like very sweet entrees than you will love this, and I like I said, the shrimp were great.

We were so full that we could not think to order dessert, they did have a new chocolate fruit desert but we had to pass. The server did bring out this little treat for me though.

KonaBDinner.jpg

It was a little cream puff filled with a light chocolate cream and topped with a yellow cream and fresh whipped cream.

Overall we loved our dinner here and would return again!

Cape May Clambake Sorry guys, no pictures on this one, except the birthday treat they brought to me.

DH and I love this place, the last two times we ate here have been great. This time was just eh, ok I guess. We may skip it on future trips. We had reservations at 5:35 and arrived around 5 pm or so, we figured we could just hang out in the lobby and sit for a bit. We just had a quick walk from the YC. The lobby of the BC was totally full with people all over the place. The line to check in was so long, just standing around waiting and waiting. We Now when we walked over from the YC you could see the people setting up the food, and it was only 5 pm and they did not open for another half an hour...hmmmm...

So we are seated right when they open, at a cute little booth behind the dessert area. The seater told us they moved some things around a bit..all the seafood is on one side now and the cookies, brownies and things are next to the breads and carved beef. The corn bread is now next to the baked ziti on the hot station.

Our server was a very nice older gentleman. He was great with the drinks. I wanted a blueberry colada but he said that is only on the menu for a few months a year and would I like the new pumpkin martini...no thanks no this time...I want to fill up on food instead. 2 ice teas it is.

DH gets up and makes a beeline for the littlenecks. He gets a huge bowl of them, he dives right in and guess what, they are ice cold. Could it be that they were sitting out for 30 minutes before the opened? He picked up a few ears of corn and he said they were cold and mushy. When he went back up he got a fresh bowl of littlenecks and he said they were 100% better.

I get up to get some food, the corn bread was dry and hard as a rock. The broccolini, string beans and roasted chicken is all cold. The baked ziti was dried out, the ribs were awesome! The mashed potatoes were awesome! The mini hot dogs were good, the chicken nuggets were gross, the mac and cheese was ok. They had fried talapia which was out of this world, I could not get enough of it. Did not try the salmon. They did take away my favorite item, the beef tips with mushrooms, I loved that dish!

I tried to get some clam chowder but it was empty and took forever to get refilled so I gave up and had some tomato bisque, it was ok...tasted like Campbells. DH and I shared some salad items and fruit, they were great. I love the cole slaw, marinated mushrooms, cuke and tomato salad...very good fruit too.

DH got a plate of the same items as me and he said it was just ok...not as good was the last two times we went. He had some sliced beef but it was so rare he could not eat it. He asked the carver to get him a few pieces well done and the guy said that would take a while because they have to bring it into the kitchen and then plopped the beef on his plate. I like my meat that rare and it was pretty good but DH said forget it...he wasnt going to wait for them to cook it.

The desserts were pathetic. The oreo bon bons were good, the mini cheesecakes, key lime tarts, german chocolate cakes all tasted like refrigeration..you know that funky taste when it is in the cooler too long? The blondies, brownies and cookies were good.

Here is the treat they brought to me, such a sweet server he sang HB to me all by himself! This was a sponge cake filled with a thick chocolate mousse covered in a very rich dense dark chocolate topping, it was gross and we could not stomach one bite, but the thought was very nice.

Overall, I dont think we will be rushing back here and that is sad because we really liked this place on other visits. If we do go back I will make a 6:30ish reservation to ensure the food is good and hot.

Beaches and Cream I have been dying to try this place for a long time but we have never been able to squeeze it into our plans.

We arrived at 7pm and the host said it would be about an hour, he ran out of pagers so he said come back in 20 minutes and we will give you a pager. We went over to the ping pong tables and played for a bit and when we went back to the host desk they said they could seat us at the bar right now if that was ok...YEAH IT IS!

We had a great server, forget her name. She hustled right over and brought us water and took our drink order, 2 vanilla cokes please. They were great! DH ordered the cheeseburger with fries, me the same but with fruit and we shared an order of onion rings. This place was slamming! It was fun watching the cooks sling burgers and the girl at the front register was super busy making malts, shakes and sundaes.

Our food was ready very quickly and our server brought us out another rounds of drinks as well (we didnt have to ask!). The burgers were very good, the bun was awesome, fresh lettuce, tomato, pickle spear. We did not touch the fries because the onion rings were too good! Next time I would hold the fries and fruit...too much food.

We were very full but there was NO WAY we could pass on the No Way Jose. There was a lot of kitchen sinks being made, those suckers are huge. I think more people were eating the NWJ though. It was wonderful and DH and I ate the entire thing.

This place is great and well worth it..I would gladly wait for a spot here!

Before I start on the F&W items I am going to post all the snacks that we had.

Pretzel from the cart in front of USA in Epcot. We had this twice. The first time is was perfect, soft on the inside, chewy and crunchy on the outside. The second time it was as hard as a rock, I took it back and asked for my money back. I dont feel bad about it either...it was $3.50!

USAPretzel.jpg

School bread in Norway, this was awesome! Very light and creamy on the inside, lots of coconut on the outside.

NorSchBread.jpg

NorSchBread2.jpg

Fruit Tart from Norway, this was the best treat we had all week. The shell is a waffle cone with the edges dipped in chocolate. There is a very light vanilla custard and it is topped with fresh berries.

NorFrtTart.jpg

Rice Cream from Norway, wow is this good! I have already duplicated it at home. I bought Cozy Shack rice pudding and topped it with thawed out Birds Eye strawberries and sauce (from the freezer section). It tastes exactly the same!

NorRiceCream.jpg

Frozen OJ from the Sunshine Terrace in MK. THis was a very refreshing treat on a warm afternoon.

MKFrznOJ.jpg

A few egg rolls from the Sunshine Terrace in MK. The little stand that is close to the Alladin ride was closed but they had a sign that read "Egg Rolls available at Sunshine Terrace" They were very good and not greasy at all.

MKEggRolls.jpg

Kakigori from Japan. This one is melon and strawberry and it was awesome!

Kakigori.jpg

Croissant from the bakery in France. This was hard and greasy and I just picked at it.

FranceCroiss.jpg

Cream Puff from the bakery in France. The cream was good but the shell was mushy and blech.

So glad you liked the fish & chips in England. That was our first stop last year and we loved it. I love just about anything that comes out of the ocean and I'm getting hubby to eat more fish since it's something his mother never really made when he lived in NJ.

That school bread picture is making me drool. (So glad I ate lunch.) We tried that for the first time last year too. So good!! But that berry tart looks fantastic too. I may have to think about that when we go in November.

Thanks for the reviews and the pictures!!

everything looks so yummy! Now I'm wondering if we should rethink some of our ADRs for December...

Hope to have all the Food and Wine reviews and pics up this weekend...stay tuned for the good, the bad and the ugly!

Thanks for the great reviews ! I need to work Kona breakfast in our plans somehow.

Kona is THE best breakfast that we had all week. It was so good I wish we ate there every day.

Fabulous pictures!! I'm so hungry reading this! We just returned last week, and I'm in deep post-Disney depression. I love Kona for breakfast, but on our last day I wanted a nice lunch and we easily got a reservation at Kona. It was FANTASTIC! The best meal the whole trip. I think next time I'll have to do breakfast AND lunch or dinner there!

Looking forward to more!

I agree with you :thumbsup2 We were going to go to lunch too but we could not tear ourselves away from the pool. Next time we will do all three meals there...lunch menu looked amazing and I am not addicted to the macadamia nut pancakes and DH to the sticky wings!

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!

I can SEE the grease on that taco shell for the taco salad. Wow!

Let me tell ya, we each had a few bites of the shell and the greasy heavy taste stayed with us the entire day and night...ugh!
