For those of you on the fence.

I was able to make reservations at VGF for the standard studio and 2 bd lock off for Feb. vacation week when I called at the 7 month mark; today those units are gone for my dates. It only took a week and a half to lose the availability, so anybody else contemplating whether not to go for it, don't wait too long.

I want to add a day or 2 at VGF for early Dec but have to wait until next Wednesday to do it. Right at my 4 month window as a non-owner. Early Dec will not be easy, I know.

Your correct it won't be many units have been filled for a month or more now- it may depend on what type of unit you are looking to get though.

Really want a standard studio but will take a lake view if available. Fingers crossed.

When people talk about availability at non-home resorts seven months out, I often say that "there is a big difference between first thing in the morning seven months out and six and a half months out." People willing and able to schedule their lives around a phone call have a different experience than those of us that say "wasn't I supposed to do that a week ago?"

There are 30 standard studios and 17 lake view studios. Factoring in fixed-week purchases, lake view studios will likely be harder to book.

I would say there is a difference between seven months out and seven months minus an hour or two. (For OKW grand villas at Xmas (at 11 mos) it is even minutes.) Heck, and with some people "walking" reservations, your life has to revolve around more than one phone call.

Not to mention if you want to play the wait list game well, which even if you call right at seven months, you might need to play to get that BCV room at Food and Wine.

By sheer luck not even realizing it was 7 months out today I got 4 nights at the VGF for march 23. Could of gotten the whole week at about 12 pm.

I'm really excited!

Good luck everyone!

I agree it did go fast everything was open for presidents week when I booked looked again to possibly get my parents a studio for same dates - no go. Guess we will stick with the original plan of them meeting us at AKV for the last 4 nights.

What does this mean? I have not ever heard of a 4-month window. Thanks.

It was set as a 4month window to give owners the ability to have home resort advantage for a while and get their bookings in.

I was trying to book a studio, December 15-20 at the 4 month mark. Well, when I logged on at exactly 8 am, it was available. But by the time I clicked on accept, it was gone! I did waitlist however, and two days later it came through.
