a WDW Pro's first time to DL

Hi lindsay0526 - The main thing that came to mind was whether or not this is just a list of things you want to do or the rough schedule. If it's a schedule, I think you'll be hard pressed to accomplish everything you have in the order you have them. Plus you do't really know when the FP times will be, so that could affect your entire schedule.

according to my online research you are outside the blocking of military passes so you should have park hopper. If you find this to be true also, then reverse your Monday and Tuesday plan.

I'm not following. But, we aren't in the blackout dates (those start 12/25), but it says that military 3-day park hoppers are not eligible for EMM

figment_jii- yes, it is more a rough schedule... i have 3 little ones, life is a rough schedule ;)

I totally understand!

With that in mind, the things that I went on when I went with little kids (3 and 5) last month include:
  • Casey Jr Train (DL) - Cute ride (goes through the same area as Storybook Canal boats), but the line is slow moving.
  • Storybook Canal Boats (DL) - Cute ride that is supposed to have Arandelle added. Slow line, but a cute ride.
  • Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk Through (DL) - This one invovles stairs and can be hit-or-miss with kids. There are a few scary bits, so you might go through first to see if there is anything that will scare you little ones.
  • Railroad or Monorail (DL) - a fun (and relaxing) way to see the park/resort.
  • Autopia - If any of you kids likes cars and wants to try driving, this one is fun.
  • Royal Theatre - Comic re-tellings of either Beauty & the Beast or Tangled are preformed. It's cute and actually pretty entertaining (even for adults).
  • Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree - Has a Christmas Carnival area, which has a show (it was only okay), some cute games, Disney characters in Holiday costumes, and Santa.
  • Treehouse - If you want to wear them (or yourself) out, then climbing the treehouse is great option! We did this to induce nap time. :rotfl:
  • Tiki Room - Cute show and some folks really like it. I tend to fall asleep, but it's nostalgic and you can get a Dole Whip Float from the Tiki Bar outside the waiting area.
  • Mark Twain or Columbia Sailing Ship - Travels around the Rivers of America. The sailing ship can be fun to explore. Both are an alternative way to see Tom Sawyers Island.
  • Tom Sawyers Island - Lots of space to run and play. Another great way to wear out kids before nap time. Kids can get grubby (we had to ask the princess-loving kiddo to take off her Elsa dress so it wouldn't get ruined as she played).

In terms of characters, along with the fixed meeting places (e.g., Pixie Hollow and Fantasy Faire), there are often characters randomly out and about. Be prepared to see someone unexpectedly.

A REVIEW OF WHAT YOU CALL DAY 3

Space mountain fastpass first thing in the morning may have a return time of 9:15-10:00 slot. This is a long crowded, pushing/shoving walk over the narrow bridge, thru the hub to Grandma's House, excuse me, Space Mountain you go. Not a good idea. You can use Monday morning to grab a fast pass

With the age of your children, I would skip space and star tours and grab fast pass for Autopia.

It is a very narrow entry into each land at the Castle hub on a good day, on your days it will be very frustrating, on a scale of impossible. So best to stay put in ROA area, which is a bigger title for Frontierland, Adventureland, NOS and Critter. Adventureland (tiki room) does not border ROA but has a wide , very congested, impossible walkway, probably the worst at Disneyland because of four attractions spilling out onto the crowds of stopped folks in a very narrow area.

So this is how I see your Tuesday:

Rope drop, proceed to Frontierland, watch for crowding at Fantasmic FP area and grab Tunder FP, this will be a very crowded spot because of the multi fp tasking, so best to send family down to HM. Your fastpass should be 8:45-9:30 range with new fp avaiable at 9:30

HM should be done by 9:00, pooh is going to take 45 mins round trip back to Thunder FP minimum, probably longer, so skip pooh and take in sights of the area NBC, NOS or chance the time frame.

10:15 next FP avaiable Space should be at 5:00 in the evening, Star tours at 3:00. Autopia at 4:00 So now you have to decide are those times going to be correct or all FP gone? Do you want to see POOH and have lunch at Hungry Bear? Do you want to see POC in a long line? Tiki room?

By 2:00 you have done the following:
BTM
NBC
POC
take in sights of NOS
pooh and lunch at Hunry bear.
Fast pass by spouse runner in tomorrowland.

2;00 tiki room and then what ever time your FAst Pass runner has acquired tickets for Tomorrowland.

between 2-5 you have seen tiki room and completed, if any , tomorrowland fastpass. And you can't move when leaving Tiki room because parade starts at 3:00.

5:00 it is dark, you are hungry, it is rush hour dining, best to eat the poor food choices in Tomorrowland as impossible to move anywhere as parade begins at 5:45, hub is impossible with parade and firework camping. Disneyland has come to a complete stop. That is why on the east side they have built a new path for exiting the park.

Your day is done in Disneyland, best to go back to lodging and or DCA, maybe have one adult trying luck on single rider in DCA.

Monday Morning

Send the spouse runner to one of three choices in Tomorrowland for fast pass, return times should be 8:45-9:15 window with next window at 9:30 for next fastpass, which should be spouse running to Roger Rabbit for 12:00 slot or other tomorrowland choice at 4-6 time slot. By noon all tomorrowland FP should be distributed.

Rope Drop in front of the castle:

here are your choices:

This is sacrilege for me, but skip Peter Pan. You don't know where it is located, you won't know what line is the stroller line , entering line, new line created by chain CM. And by the time you have finished all the other rides surrounding, the wait time is not worth the investment.

And if you are way back in the rope drop, which you will be, after all, this is your first view of Main street, no matter how many times you have been to WDW, your experience will not help you in your awe!!!!! You are no longer a Disney pro but a rookie in the awe of the birthplace!!!!

Alice is your first stop and you find the fast enty by rope dropping on the big huge Matterhorn side of the castle, a wide path between the castle and mountain that as you pass the castle on your left, you will see the Alice attraction leaf attire above you and time to look for the Alice line. Then over to Dumbo, Storybook and Casey.

But wait a minute, since you have placed a premium on Tomorrowland fastpass on an impossible day, you have to wade back to tomorrowland to use the fastpass and then the spouse runner has to venture a long ways to Toontown for the RR fastpass. The rest of the family wades back to Fantasyland to finish the attractions.

And now it is noon and this what you have accomplished so far.
Alice , without a parent.
Dumbo with parent on ground snapping photos.
Both parents with children on Tomorrowland choice.
Snow white and her wooden neighbor, carousel while waiting for returning parent with roger rabbit FP
Five attractions, four hours.

So on your two days in Disneyland, it is best to forget FP for Space and Star tours. It will take away from quality family time and completing the list of attractions. If you avoid Tomorrowland on Monday, you will be able, as a family to ride all attractions together except for attractions sacrificed by the FP runner for Roger Rabbit.

And now it is noon and this what you have accomplished:

As a family you have been on Alice, Dumbo, Casey Jr, Storybookland, Mr. toad, Snow white, and Pinocchio, carousel. and one set of fastpass for toontown.

magical map??? I have no idea, shows are not part of my Disneyland mystic.
