A WDW and UNI trip--feeling a little disloyal

Cast Myself and DH and DD 11 and DS almost 13. This will be our second Halloween in a row at WDW. AFter 6 exclusively WDW trips we are breaking out and hitting Universal Studios for 2 days and even renting a car. I've kept my ADRs pretty much as I made them though added 2 when we switched to free dining but I've made and canceled about 12 different variations of room reservations. Started out with 40, 30, 20% pin code and a split 4 ways stay of off site arrival night (late arrival) or POP, 2 nights Beach Club Concierge (40th B'day to me), Portofino Bay at Uni, then PO-FQ for 3 more nights. I kept switching Pop and Quality Suites then booked an earlier flight and was really confused about what I wanted to do. Then Uni came out with the Harry Potter package but I had already purchased tickets before the price increase but there was a loophole for a few days that would let you purchase the pkg without tickets so reserved HP package at Royal Pacific for Halloween weekend. Then free dining comes out. I had planned fairly modest meals that are our faves like 50's Primetime, Tusker breakfast, and Liberty Tree Lunch so not sure if free dining is worth losing the discount plus will be at Uni for 2 nearly full days.... I ran the numbers 27 different ways but with both kids being WDW adults free dining was a nice savings so drop all my split stays (boo hoo Beach Club Concierge) and reserve PO-FQ for the whole trip with free dining. Even paying for the night at PO-FQ that we'll really be at Uni doesn't cost any more. Now we need to burn some serious meal credits though so we added Yachtsman and HDDR both of which are new to us and I'm thrilled about. DH in the meantime changes jobs to one that qualifies us to stay at Shades of Green or get an overflow discount....no no no not even thinking about changing. We also find out he has to go to 2 weeklong conferences in Feb (at Shades) and April (at Marriott) each year with new job. Kids won't be out of school though so looking at an adult only trip in Feb Haven't thought through April yet.... In the meantime I still have 2 ressies at Uni for PB with AAA discount and RP with HP package. I start doubting the extra $80 for the HP pkg because the included breakfast sounds like nothing exciting and folks have to wait in line for it. I start doubting PB because it's farthest away. So I get a pin code from Uni that says more than 1 night and no weekends but I call anyway and I can use it for Sat and 1 night at Hard Rock which I've decided I want. So I finally cancel everything else and we are all set. We will have 2 rooms that Sat night but I'm glad to not have to pack up and move at all and I really wanted the front of the line passes at Uni. We are going to have to eat like pigs at WDW to use our meal credits though especially with DH leaving early...
