I'm not pointing fingers here. These are very tough times for the smaller hotels and many are forced to turn to longer term occupancy to survive, and you can't really pick and choose your guests.

This is a matter of public record - required by law.

I wouldn't call that one of the smaller hotels, it is rather large with a good amount of business, a convention center, and nightclub.

I've never heard of any hotel doing background checks, and this S.O. Registration is recent. The offender has more than likely moved to this area and is staying there while finding a residence. He registered upon arrival as required, and this is the address he gave when he did so.

Now I don't care what hotel you stay at, I'm not inviting any guests to come over for dinner and play with the kids. At least you know this guy is there at this time... however, think of all the other scum that does not need to register, or that just doesn't even if required to. I'm not sure how hotel management would respond, or if they even can, if they came to know his background.

I could be staying in the room right next to him and he wouldn't get near my kids even if he wanted to or tried. I don't care if it's the Super 8, the Grand Floridian, or the Peabody.

Hotels don't do background checks on guests.. This can happen anywhere, at BIG fancy hotels or small mom and pop hotels.

Most of them just staying a few nights don't register so you would NEVER know...

Be careful pointing fingers!!! Looks to me like it could be a statutiory case. He doesn't look very old, mabye 20 ish and the victium is in the 13-16 category. He was probably younger at the time of the offesne. This could very well be acase of 18 year old with 16 year old girlfriend!

Let's do the math. He was born in 1985. That makes him 25 now. He was charged and found guilty in 2005. So he was 20 then. Let's presume it took 1 year to bring him to 'justice'....that makes him 19 as the offender. He is listed as offending a 13-16yo....so basically what I think we might have is a 19yo dating a 16yo and angry parents.

I'm not saying I know this for sure, but it's a good guess. However, I do agree that I'd be more worried about those that weren't caught. Orlando is a GREAT place for offenders- LOTS of kids.

Just do a search you will find another offender as listed at 1800 Epcots resort blvd ???

I worry more about hotel employees than guests. Employees have the ability to get keys to everyone's room. I once worked for a hotel that refused to spend the time or money (less than $100 at the time) to conduct criminal background checks on employees. An employee did her own investigation and found three sexual offenders working for the chain (8 hotels). It's free to check the sexual offender registry so there is no excuse imo.

Ramada Celebration Hotel, though not in Celebration:

Sex Offender

This is a matter of public record - required by law.

If you are not pointing fingers, then why are you pin pointing this young man out for? There is nothing on that link that states he is in the Ramada.. or if it is, I am missing it..

and as others have said, it could have been nasty parents of the girl who did this to him. I know someone who has a brother that this was done to. He was 18, she was nearly 17.. he broke up with her. She had her mom take him to court since she was a "minor". I am the parent of a DS & 2 DD's. I would not want someone doing this to my DS, nor would I want someone sexually attacking my DD's..

brings me back to this young man, how did you even find this since there is no mention of the Ramada.. unless you know him and know he is there...
also... don't think that this Ramada has "long term" guests as in how you are referring to. Ramada is a large corporation and this particular hotel is not a mom & pop run hotel...

Interesting. When I put up the original post, the FDLE website clearly stated it was the Ramada and included the address.

It has since been changed so apparently this fellow has moved on or FDLE concluded it had bad information. But in light of the fact that it has been changed, I've eliminated the hotel references and the link from my original post. I suggest you do the same to your post.

As far as your speculation about "nasty parents" being at fault here, according to the website info, the man in question was 20 at the time of the offense and the victim was 13 to 16.

Since your original post has been edited, I'm trying to make heads or tails out of this.. Are you suggesting that people don't stay in off-site hotels due to one incident? :confused3
