A Waffler, Pixie Dust & Princesses Pre-Trip Report!

Well, well, well...never thought for one minute I would be doing a pre-trip report!!! But lo and behold, here I am. It all began when I started to get that feeling...you all know just what I mean!!! That "I need to go to Disney or I'll die in a miserable heap" feeling. It was right then (at that moment) I decided that it MUST HAPPEN, I MUST go to WDW again...after all, it has been TWO YEARS!!!! Long enough for any mere mortal. So the Waffler, Pixie Dust & Princesses Trip was born!

CAST:

DH - Grumpy Follower who does not like details
DD6 - Adorable, smart, funny Princess who shares my love of WDW and fun in general!!!

WHERE:

POP Century - DD6 absolutely it here 2 years ago!!! I couldn't resist making her happy! I hope we can look around the resort more this time.

WHEN:

August 28th to September 1st (then DD6 goes right back home and starts school!!!)

DETAILS:

Going during Free Dining! I decided to upgrade us to the Deluxe Dining Plan (DlxDDP) because for some reason I wanted to!!! Last time we were there we only had DDP (missed Free Dining too!) so we didn't get to do any shows...although I made sure that EVERY single dinner was a Character Meal!! I don't think DH's family would have done that if I didn't make the arrangements!

When I called to make the Package Reservation, the CM said "You have been sprinkled with Pixie Dust today"...I kid you NOT!!!! There was nothing "special" just that little sprinkling...just enough for a WDW fix!!!

ADR REPORT:
Now I know everyone is dying to know what my ADR schedule is like!!!

8/28 - ARRIVAL DAY
6:40pm Sci Fi Diner (cause DH & DD6 wanted to try it!)

8/29 - MAGIC KINGDOM DAY
7:30am Ohana Breakfast
12:50pm Crystal Palace
6:50pm Cinderellas Royal Table

8/30 - HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS & EPCOT DAY
7:30am Chef Mickey's Breakfast
12:50pm Princess Storybook Lunch
6:00pm Coral Reef w/Diver & Personalized Menus

8/31 - ANIMAL KINGDOM DAY
8:35am Donald's Safari Breakfast
1:00pm Yak & Yeti
7:15pm Hoop De Doo Review - Catagory 3

9/1 - LATE AFTERNOON DEPATURE DAY/OPEN
8:10am 1900 Park Fare

Called (again) this morning to see about changing ADR's around and decided w/CM's assistance that I have the best possible ADR's that anyone could get!!! I really do have most of the characters covered.

I know that in a couple of years, won't care as much about meeting all the characters. So with that in mind...I fully intend to make the most of here and now!!!

I have changed my ADR's at least 5 or 6 times!!! I can't remember being so indecisive last time I planed the GG trip. I have vowed to stay off the ADR Waffle Train and remain strong in my conviction that my ADR's are a good as can possibly be.

I do know the following (along with the fact that I am one ADR credit over my DlxDDP allowed credits):

8/29 - EPCOT has EMH in the pm until 12:00am so we will go from the MK over to EPCOT (providing DD6 is up to it). I would love to see EPCOT & WS at night because I never have.

8/30 - Hollywood Studios (I still think MGM is easier to say!!!) has EMH in the am so it will aready be crowded by the time we get there.

BUT...(this makes up for it!!)...
8/31 - Magic Kingdom has EMH in pm until 3:00AM!!!!!! If DD6doesn't fall asleep in her strawberry shortcake at HDDR guess where we are going!!!! I am going to be commando on this one and DEMAND all to FOLLOW!!! (whew!!...I'm ok now.)

9/1 - Animal Kingdom has EMH in am so I think we might check out whichever park we want a last look at.

Side Note: DD6 is hale and hearty and can out hike some adults!!! I am glad that she is a bit older and can handle walking (better than me!!) because last time we had a stroller incident... which I would not care to repeat again in my lifetime!!!

I was attempting to keep up with DH's crazy sisters and my stroller tipped over spilling my DD onto the pavement. I was a little more than angry at them AND myself for trying to keep up!!!! I was upset that DD could have been really injured. HOWEVER, DD was not injured and she rallied quite well (better than I from the incident).

DD6 is very adventurous and likes many different foods (except Chinese Food...she can't even stand the smell of it! DH and I love it so she just has to tough it out sometimes ). Overall, she is a fun and easy child to be with...gee I just love her!! ...oh, and too (most of the time anyway )

~ Will ADR's be changed again by the Worlds Hugest Waffler? Will Yak & Yeti stay or go? Will I find something else to obsess over instead of food? ~

Thanks Bhead!!! I hope DD6 doesn't want a stroller cause she isn't getting one!!! My lesson #1 in Bad Parenting I guess.

When I told my DD6 that we were taking the Ferry Boat over to Ellis Island Museum in NYC her reply was...

"Why not just take the PRINCESS BOAT?"



I had to actually explain the Ferry Boat was not a FAIRY Boat!!! It gave us a laugh...

I have managed to only LOOK at the Restaurant thread on disboards. I have not called WDW Dine to make any changes...YET!!!!!!! wah ha ha ha ha (evil laugh)

I like all the places we are going though.

Another "Princess Moment" ...

DD6 said if she were a bird, she "would fly high into the sky and bring back the North Star for you (me!)"

96 Days and Counting!!!!!!!!!

I have managed to NOT change my ADR's at all...still resisting temptation!!! It has not stopped my obsessing about food & ADR's though...

I'm just wondering right now how many rides/attractions we will actually cover in our trek through the world...there is so much to see and so little time to see it!!!!

I have read about people having a "strategy" for their day and I don't know if that would work well (other than with food ).

I guess I have now entered...the "wonder zone" in my Disney Planning!!!

Actually, I have been sick for a while...we're thinking food poisoning!!! The timing was right for when we actually went out for dinner...and my dinner didn't seem to taste "right".

Anyway, I am back...I know you must all have been dying to know how I have been making out!

Having settled my ADR's (no I didn't change ANY of them...promise!!), I decided to begin working on AIRFARE!!! Yes folks...you read correctly...I reserved our vacation BEFORE getting airfare. This is a first for me as I usually just book everything through our travel agent all at once. But NOOOOOOOOOO not this time!!!! I have decided that I will reserve airfare online myself, with no help, no none at all (well, except for the wonderful diser's).

I am currently bashing my head against the Airfare Wall...commonly known as the "internet" in an attempt to find THE best airfare. I even purchased the Spirit $9 deal which seems at the moment to be like a great White Rhino...extinct!!!! I tried to download DING, but my work computer won't let me...go figure, they actually want me to work!!!

Then I have been stalking AirTran and SouthWest and have considered going out of places unknown to me...SWF, BOS, JFK, BDL...ok, well I technically "know" JFK and BDL but the others are completely "unknown".

My airfare prices are holding steady at approx. $215.00 per person. I know you all must be saying..."how can she not like THAT!?!"...well, it is the TIGHTWAD in me!!!!

BTW...if anyone should want to give me a short tutorial on posting pictures, by all means feel free!!!! I am a blank slate in that area...

The fairy/ferry thing was so cute!

To post pictures, you have to first upload your pictures somewhere online. Many people use Photobucket because it works well and is free.

Once you upload your pictures there, you can copy the code under the picture that starts [IMG....... Come back to your post and paste that code into the box here. Your picture should then show up!

I hope I didn't leave out any important steps. If you're having trouble, let me know!

My 5 year old niece was transported by LifeStar to Boston. She is a heart transplant recipiant and has Sepsis. This is a life threatening condition for her.

She was just hospitalized due to the valve in her heart is leaking at 35%...she needs 40% leakage to be placed back on the list for another heart!!! She received her heart at the age of 18 months and it has been an uphill battle the whole time. She is such a trooper!!!!

Any prayers offered on her behalf would be sincerely appreciated!!!

My niece is still in critical condition at Boston's Children's Hospital. She has Congestive Heart Failure (she is a transplant patient) and her lungs collapsed (result of Sepsis a blood infection). She is still VERY ill. Any prayers on her behalf are greatly appreciated.

Well, it has been a little while since I have done a trip update. I have managed NOT to change a single ADR!!!!!!!! I had a couple of ADR "Sagas" on the Restaurant boards in the beginning....but have since calmed down.

I did manage to get our flights in place. I had flight credits with Southwest so that is who we are flying with. After much agonizing I ended up with the following:

August 28th
BDL to MCO (nonstop) - Arrives at 7:05pm

September 1st
MCO to Nashville to BDL - Departs at 5:50pm

Not bad times considering this is such a short trip AND I only paid $22.00 OOP!!!! Yes, I know I paid OOP for the whole thing...just don't judge me...I like to think that I got a bargain.

I actually need to cancel my ADR for Sci Fi Diner on the 28th...wonder if I can get something later that night there. I guess I will be calling WDW Dining again!!!

I went online to my reservation and filled out my Magical Express information in the handy dandy form. But I will check on it when I call to make sure that everything went through 'ok'.

What the heck is up with the 3oz rule?!?!?!?!??! I am a WOMAN for goodness sakes!!!! How can I travel with ONLY 3oz of shampoo, conditioner, HAIRSPRAY!!!!! I swear airlines are penalizing the carryon people (that would be me) in an attempt to get them to check their bags!!! Just how is a WOMAN with a CHILD supposed to travel to FLORIDA with 3oz of SUNSCREEN!?!?!?!

Will I get a LATE ADR for Sci Fi?

Will my WDW Reservation show my Magical Express information?

How will I handle the NEW airline restrictions?

Boston has the best hospitals and Boston Childrens is one of the best... I was a patient there and I got nothing but the best care.
