A Voyage of Firsts! The WONDERful Journey North: LA-Vancouver-Alaska, 4/27-5/10 2011

I think we end the night at the Buena Vista with some of their famous Irish Coffees...

It's not far from Ghiardelli Sq...

WE?? Are u booking yet?

Ohh and Ken... if you are interested in Alcatraz... you MUST get tickets beforehand... you can't just show up and get tickets.

Also... I think it would be ok for you and Shannon, but the girls will be bored by it...

Yeah not sure what we are doing yet - but we have some time before we can book excursions anyhow. As for the girls, the kids clubs are still running plus my father and stepmother are going to be there too so they might do some kid sitting. Particularly in Alaska where this will be their 6th or 7th cruise there I think...

ok, let me try to fill everyone in. The guys and I are paid up for B2B, selected some Palo times, activites in Victoria (the pub crawl of course), Skagway (the train of course), Juneau (the tram & glacier) and just the lumberjack show in Ketchikan as the halibit was gone already. As I get to SF every so often, the guys and I are going to just ride the cable cars and visit the cable car museum, the chocolate factory etc. Life has been very busy for us and we miss talking to everyone, but I will tell all while I relax with a beer in the pub onboard. As an added treat, my parents will be cruising with us on the repo portion. Will try to catch up either here or on facebook as I can. Are we doing door magnets, lanyards, pub crawls, etc for this B2B? Let me know and I will try to help as the guys and I can.
Hugs to all,
Steve, and the guys.

Hi Steve.

Here's a link to the meets thread that has all the DISboard activities for the repo.

Check out page one (it has a link to the rouster for repo and Alaska). You'll want to be sure you are on the lanyard list. There is an organized FE for the repo and one just starting for the Alaska cruise (there's a link to that separate thread there too).

don't forget your fish extender... ;)

Ok, we are on the new thread too! Nice to see so many lovely people we already know! Off to bed I go as the laundry is done!

You know it! It may be what we do when we are in port during the change over! LOL Nothing beats room service delivering cookies to the laundry room!

Wait what?
Now I regret (even more) not getting to know the Champagne girls and Old Geezers and Geezers in training on the WBTA- I didn't know they'd be on these cruises also! *facepalm* Bad girl, Shelley... bad girl.

Hi Shelly. I see you're doing the B2B also. I'm the organizer of the Champagne Girls and the Old Geezers and GIT are impromptu....just show up at the Cove Cafe after dinner for toddies and cookies. BUT you must be 60 or over for the Old Geezers and 55 or older for the GIT. Just so we make it clear. As far as the Champagne Girls go, I'm just starting to look into planning it for this trip. Not sure what cruise we'll get a room assigned for....the LA or the Alaska. That's up to DCL when I contact them soon. If you have any questions, fire away. I'll be happy to answer now that I'm back from the Dream maiden voyage and can focus on this trip.:yay::yay::yay:

Yep, the "Champagne Girls" are spreading. It started with Deb (EllaEnchanted) and our friend Mandy (UK Angel) organizing it for the '08 WBPC. Then we did it again for an '09 Tortola cruise. And they've done it on the WBTA last month. I think Deb has organized one on another cruise of hers (Deb?) and we'll do it again for this one. THEN, there will be another on the Dream in November '11 at Pink!!. Hoping as more and more DISers have been joining it will show up on more and more cruises and some day, ladies in pink will take over the WORLD! Bwaaaaa hhaaaaa hhaaaa!
(sorry, lost control for a moment)

And right you should.....hahaha....especially since it's such a hot idea that DCL stole it from us to use for PINK on the DREAM. I'm just saying......as Bubba would say.

I have only done two so far Jacks.....WBPC and Tortola. My next two are scheduled for this trip and November Dream. But Pink only holds 30 comfortably. You can crame 50 in but it will be tight. We normally have 50 or so people attending. We'll see what happens as it gets here. For now, I'm done with the maiden voyage and onto this trip. I'll start working on getting the Champagne Girls organized for this one. Oh, and even though I have only done two, I think tree others were/are done or being done. Connie did one on a Med I think it was and Corrina did one I believe on the TA. There's also another one in the planning stages for the Sept TA 2011. That makes five plus my two that I'm planning and we have a total of seven Champagne Girls tastings. We're growing, but we have not taken over any of the world yet....:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Is anyone staying in the DL area on the 24th that is going to the group brunch?

Gydell, I just sent you an email about this. I'm glad you asked here though to see if we have more takers. So far it's you, me and John only. V, Bubba, Gaylean and Jon may join us. Everyone else is welcome to join us. I can always upgrade the ressie. Here's where we're going on Easter Sunday 4/24 for a Champagne Brunch (but of course)!!!!

DH John saw them on the Food Network and told me that they have a chocolate fountain and that next time we were in LA we HAD to go there for brunch.....so we are.

Sorry Vicki - I think we've all been spending our money on cruises, oops...

OH don't I know it....I know that you and me and Monica and Connie and Jackie and Cheri and Marilyn and Kaz surely have been!!! hahaha.

Since we never get to the West Coast....we're booked on the LA Repo:

Sanoma Wine Country in San Fran day 3
Walt Museum in San Fran day 4
Trolley Tour in Victoria day 6

Alaska:

Massage for John day 2
Palo Brunch day 3
Scenic Railway in Skagway day 4 at 12:30 thru DCL
Whale Watching in Juneau day 5 non DCL

No it wasn't a typo Kathe....more like a senior moment. haha:lmao::lmao::lmao: I thought at the time I typed it that GITs were 55 and up. Now that I'm thinking about it, I remember that you're right because I told myself at the time that I qualify for GIT and I'm not quite 55 yet. So there you go.....a senior moment.:rotfl::rotfl:
