A Voyage of Firsts! The WONDERful Journey North: LA-Vancouver-Alaska, 4/27-5/10 2011

ABSOLUTELY

Now I wonder how we can winterize SASSY?

Instead of feathers, we'll get furry boas and they should be warming. I love the furry tiaras. I would get the same ones.:cutie:

Hi guys,
Checking in here. Deb, i am sure the Disney folks will be VERY grateful to not have any more feathers.:lmao::rotfl2::confused3:eek::rolleyes::thumbsup2

Oh sure, now you pull out the nonsense pictures of him

We needed those at the dinner table :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Checking in as I was told ::yes::

Shannon, you are assigned the person to keep track of the stuff on the other THREAD s and sign us up in mass for anything that we, the theives (& Fools, like Richard) can become a part of (which is our nice way of saying take over :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh sure, give me work

I know I put this in the Thieves thread, but I think it shoudl go here. Logo ideas? There was some talk about a gold panning mickey because of the gold rush trail we will sort of be following, and I remember something about a mickey in lime green plaid, some orcas and not sure what other ideas were thrown out there.

So post some ideas ppl and I will see what I can come up with.

Hmmm just wondering if we should have version 1.0, version 1.5 and version 2.0? Right, Ian?

Okay, the only news in the other threads is they are setting up a separate webpage which will be the roster of the cruises, and pictures are welcome to be submitted to BobandLee in any format!

(how's that, Nan? :goodvibes)

Found this cool picture of Vancouver which shows downtown pretty good with the cruise terminal and you can see my "church" in it too. (the big marshmallow looking thing - called BC Place Stadium home of the Canadian Football League team BC Lions)

Hi everyone!!
I'm so excited for this trip!!! Should I plan to bring my pink Tink outfit???
Naturally, my dear!!! Tho' maybe with additional thermal undies, mittens and a pink faux fur waistcoat... :goodvibes

Karen,
Are we going to plan coordinated ensembles for a "costume" event? We only have 500 days to shop. That's hardly enough time!
Ian, yes, yes and yes!!! ::yes:: Richard was most definitely keen when I suggested it and, as you can see from previous pics, he's usually a shrinking violet with no love of costume at all... :rolleyes1

I love the idea of furry boas and tiaras, Deb!!! :worship:

Now I need a pair....just because I'm going to Alaska with the Champagne Girls.

The only colors I have at home are tan and blue.:rotfl:

And I love the idea of pink UGGS even more!!! Actually, I'm an EMU gal - more support in the footbed!!! ;) :thumbsup2 I have a pair of reddish ones with a somewhat pinkish lining BUT pink would be fab!!! Oh I so hope we can do the Champagne Girls in the 1st week - fingers crossed it can be arranged...

Hi Kathe! How did your daughter like the cruise??? :goodvibes

That is a spectacular photo!!! Vancouver looks beautiful... :goodvibes

Version 1.0 would be for the Brits, 1.5 for Canadians and 2.0 for the Americans.

Packing is going to be a bit of a challenge for this trip what with weight restrictions and all.

Clothing for cooler temperatures tends to be bulkier and take up more space.

It's going to be very challenging to have a productive dialogue about the journey on two threads. To me this journey is no different than steamship voyages of days gone by, where you had various ports of call with passengers embarking and disembarking.

Right now I think there should be 2 cocktail mixers, one at the start, and after Vancouver to welcome all the recent boarders.

Oh we'll definitely be able to do it the first week....it's just a matter of keeping it private or going public with it....only time will tell that. I'm going to change the format a little too....more like the first time where after all the talking and educating....we have more time for the girls to drink and talk. :thumbsup2

I was thinking about that too. Formal attire will have to be of the winter variety not the summer kind. It's all going to be different. Many things will need to be shopped for and acquired. This will be a true challenge.:wizard:

I would agree. Most things should be duplicated. (The Champagne Girls can only be done once however....way too expensive to do it twice.)

Richard secretly liked our fezzes didn't he?

Absolutely! And with the reduction in baggage allowances, it'll be tougher than ever!!! Maybe we should travel in as much as we can possibly wear at one time...?

Oh, I should think so! He actually has a real love of hats - particularly the fedora! And here's a little something he bought in Moscow earlier in the year...

Then you should send him to this link. Our source for fezzes, or at least the ones on the cruise. We also have the clockwork fez:

Regarding packing, I had the brilliant idea of those packing bags that you hook up to a vacuum cleaner to suck out the air and compress everything. Then I realized that that would only work one way, not unless I also packed our vacuum cleaner to suck out the air for the return trip.
