A Very Special Trip Report to Celebrate My Daughter's 6th Birthday (Updated 11/1 pg6)

Thanks!! I think it's way too big but the kids kept asking every day when are we going so I made it start the day after my son's birthday!!!! Good luck with yours!

Love the countdown calendar! I meant to make one for my last 2 trips but didn't ever get it done. So my Mickey heads are just waiting for the December trip.

As you can see from my Trip Countdown, I am not crafty! I know that I scrapbook, but trust me, it is very remedial!

Anyway, I was searching the awesome handmade site Etsy today and I found some really great custom Disney T-Shirts for my daughter's birthday! I am so excited!

Does anyone else know of anyone who makes handmade, so that I pay a DisEr before I pay anyone else?

Have you checked on the DIsign boards? They might be able to steer that way. I'm pretty sure though that they can't actually sell anything on the boards.

Another vote for Biergarten here. We had fun there. And we loved Tusler House too. Our favorite breakfast of them all!

It's great that you have friends joining you. We're meeting up with friends (inkedupmomma) on our trip too...can't wait!

There are some great DISigners on the boards. Donatalie is one of my favorites. She does incredible stuff. There are many others too. ILuvCrush is great but I don't think she's taking any requests now. Please post pictures of whatever you decide on. Would love to see them. I just got finished doing 5 last weekend. DH said that's the limit. Wants to know if he gets to wear any of his own clothes this trip.

Can't wait to hear more about your plans.

Agreeing with Ohio!
I loved Biergarten and have high hopes of getting it for Christmas Eve with the Candlelight Processional, my only reservation about this ADR was Baylor, we paid an adult price for him and he didn't really like anything on the buffet.....

Tusker House is another must do for us in December, it's one of our favorites we may even forgo a Boma breakfast so that we can try to get into AK before the park opens.....

Wow! It has been busy around here with all of the 4th of July festivities...we had family in town and a lot of friends invited us to lots of events---we are a very blessed family!

I finally found a cute t-shirt for my DD to wear on her birthday. It's designed by a shop on Etsy called kimsstitchintime...Beautifully embroidered shirts! WooHoo!!!! I got her a Minnie Mouse head with a Birthday hat on it with her name and the #6 embroidered on it! So cute!

My only concern now is that since it is her birthday, I am, of course, taking her to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique first thing in the morning. She is going to want to wear a Princess ensemble, so I have to figure out if I should carry an extra outfit with the birthday shirt for her or if I should have her wear the shirt and forgo the princess ensemble....now that I am mulling it over, the BBB is a surprise so I imagine that I will carry the Princess dress in a bag and change her when we get there!

In other developments, since my BFF and her DH are coming, I think that we may put the kids into one of the kids clubs and use my Le Cellier reservation for our family (2adults, 2 kids) and bring my BFF, and have a No Kid Night! I have never left my kids on vacation. Has anyone ever used the clubs? Any suggestions? We are staying at AKL and I believe that there is a club there!

Yes, we used the Sandcastle Club at Beach Club this last trip and Baylor had a blast. It wasn't packed but there were a wide range of ages and they kept the kids very busy!

Hey neighbor! We are in Cleveland Heights! Glad to see another Ohioan who loves Disney!

Our calendar is so remedial, but I have to say that the kids LOVE it! I got the posterboard at Target and the Stickers at Michaels's. The Mickey Heads were from Home Depot! The squares that I cut out were 3 " by 2.5" ...if that helps!

We've only used the Sandcastle Club at BC, I'll bet the are all just about the same! Baylor had a really good time, they served him dinner and everything!

Nope, she was not in our group! It's funny, I have printed that pic and cropped her out...must have forgotten to use the cropped shot! Anyway, I try to get out of the way, too!! She was probably really anxious to spend some time with the main Mouse...maybe she was a first timer!!!

Ok, I can be taught. It does take me awhile tho. Sorry I missed the beginnng of your report but I'm in now for the duration. I am not envious of anyone as a rule but oh, how I would love to join DVC. I would have loved it more 20 years ago.

Your family picture is great and what beautiful children you have. I do see a mischievious glint in their eyes.

You had lots of plans to make and a lot more to change. I didn't have the issue of an adults night out but you should. Although if you are like me the whole time you're out you wonder if the kids are ok, if they're having fun and if you did the right thing. It's hard being a parent sometimes.

Anxiously awaiting for more.
