A very sad day for COSTCO hot dog lovers.

For a few months now, Costco has not been selling the Hebrew National Hot Dogs. But there was a sign of hope that they would carry them again, and that was the sign at the food counter that said they were having "issues" with Hebrew National, or maybe it was just the supplier... but I don't think so.

Today, was a sad day indeed. I lost one of my best friends. When I went in, Costco employees were taking down those treasured red umbrellas with the Hebrew National logo on them. :sad2:

Well, optimist that I am, I decided to try the "new" hot dogs ( but only a half of one since I am on Weight Watchers ). Sadly, they are not nearly as good as my old buddy, Hebrew National.

Send lots of Pixie Dust my way, and say a prayer for my "buddy". :sad2:

See my "tag"! :teeth:

I know that it isn't the same, but you can buy Hebrew National hot dogs in the supermarket. I do agree they are the best hot dogs.

They will answer to a higher authority

Did they switch to Sabretts?

One can only hope.

Switched to Sinai Kosher Beef Hot Dogs.

I was actually going to try these soon with the way you have been raving about them. At least it will be easier for you to lose weight.

I was wondering why the last dog I had there was not as good, and why I had a tummy ache.

What a tragic day! Is there any point of even going to Costco any more?
Kirkland brand wine

The ones here have had Sinai as long as I've been down here. I end up buying the big package of Sabrett's or Hebrew Nats every couple of months.

Kirkland Wine? Read about it in the costco connection, but I have yet to see it in the warehouse.

I miss the Hebrew Nationals too. Last time, I tried a pack of the Nathan's. We liked them too. Not sure which ones they are selling at the food court, but the Nathan's ones were good for home cooking. Good Luck at Weight Watchers, Papa Deuce. Its really a great program. Half a dog is better than no dog at all. :goodvibes

Our little Costco "stand" has always used the Kirkland beef hot dogs and polish sausages. I guess I didn't know what I was missing....?

Okay, you'll laugh Papa Deuce.

I'm trying to find a very old thread that I know I got hammered on for a fellow DISer (long story-pointed out a thread to her, explained that the OP and I had some stupid exchange and the memory isn't what it used to be-I need to explain *why* we had words, lol). Anyway, I'm going this far back and found this.

I want you to know, all this time, every time I have one of those Sinai hot dogs at Costco, I sit there and agree with you-the Hebrew Nats are soooo much better. I really loved the old, old days when they served the Sabretts, but the Hebrew Nats are missed.

You can all :rotfl2: all you want that I'm going 60 some pages back in my subscribed threads to find out what caused me to avoid posting on someone's threads more than a year later!

LOL, when I saw this tread re-emerge, I was like "what the heck brought this back up"? :rotfl: Usually people like to bring up my old controversial threads from time to time.... and I was thinking..."what can be so controversial about a Costco hot dog"?
