A Very Disney Christmas! Nov/Dec 2010 PTR (Trip Drama & 2 Days! 11/24)

and I must say how SHOCKED I was when Lotso ended up being so evil!! YIKES!!! My first thought was why in the world did they choose him as the character meet and greet at HS?! When we saw him in May he was portrayed as this sweet, huggable bear and that was just not the case!! Brent gave the example of how I let the girls meet Captain Hook without any problem--that there are villains that do meet and greets all the time. My point was that we KNEW that they were villains and weren't posing as something they weren't--anywho just my observations!!

I agree on the Lotso discussion. We are very well aware that Zurg and Hook and Jafar and so on are villains from the beginning.

Lotso is deceptive.

"Welcome to Sunnyside!" doesn't scream villain. ;)

He's a more sinister scary to me than the outright bad guys.

At least we marked two things off of our list for the summer trip -
standing in line for pictures with Lotso and buying a Lotso plush toy.

The girls had a great recital, thanks for asking!! I cant wait to get the DVD!

Sounds like you had a great weekend! I cant wait to take the girls to see Toy Story 3! I think we are going Friday.....

Laura

Love the recital pics! I wish my DD was still taking dance. Ever since she started playing softball she can no longer take dance. There's just not enough hours in the day. :sad2:

Oh - your post about TS3 confirms why my DH won't go see it - he'll cry and I know I will too. The movie Up made me boo-hoo. Just don't know if hubby & I can handle it!

Wow, we haven't seen TS3 yet, but if it's more emotional than Up! I'm in for some serious crying!

I thought the same thing about Lotso, that he was cuddly & cute. His plush even smells like fruit! But we saw some Legos sets at the Lego store that were actually put together where Lotso appeared to be doing mean things to the other toys...so we began to wonder about Mr. Lotso...

Sounds like you had a good time over Father's Day weekend! :goodvibes

The recital pics are great! Both of the girls look adorable as always! :goodvibes

Awww, it sounds like you all had a wonderful father's day weekend! How sweet that Brent got so emotional during TS3! It sounds like the movie was just wonderful - I still need to see it!

Hey Becky! My OA job has been keeping me very busy but I just caught up on your posts. I agree about Toy Story 3; I went with several of my OA friends and we all thought it was great. Lots of tears. I had the same thought about Lotso. I'm kind of glad I didn't meet him now. I couldn't believe how evil he was! Never once in the previews or intros of new characters was he made to be the villain.

Beauty and the Beast seemed like a lot of fun. I'd love to see it on stage sometime. Sounds like it was a great weekend!

Where did you get the Jessie "Girls Rule" tshirts? They are so CUTE!!!

Hey Becky!! :thumbsup2

So glad you guys get to go at Christmas time and see all the great decorations and such. You will NOT be disappointed, I promise! :wizard:

One of these days, I will start a PTR for November AND the cruise so I will let you know for sure. :woohoo:

Have a good one!
Katie

Looks like you all had a great weekend. I agree with you on Lotso I knew he was the bad guy but didn't realize how evil he was going to be. My Mom couldn't figure out why he was at HS either. I pointed out that they already have all the main characters in the parks and Lotso is just another villain. We asked Brooklynn if she wanted to see him next week when we are there and she said "No way! He is a bad guy!"

Sadly Cool Springs closed their Disney Store in January. Not a big deal for those of you in Memphis with your own Disney Store, but very sad for those of us in (or who frequent) Nashville to lose all our Disney Stores in such a short time.

We had a great weekend, Jill!! Aww!! Poor Brooklynn! I'm not sure I blame her, though! I'm not sure how eager my girls would have been to meet him after seeing the movie either!!

I know!! Cool Springs AND Opry Mills closed their stores! I am very thankful to have one here in Memphis but I loved shopping in Nashville--especially at the outlet!

Great recital pictures of the girls!

We feel the same way about Lotso -- I am very surprised he is a Meet and Greet AND has a plush! I love the picture of Claire asleep on her way to Memphis holding her Jessie doll -- too cute!

Looks like you had a lot of fun at Beauty and the Beast and in Alabama!

Thanks Jackie!! We LOVE B&B!! :lovestruc

Great Update Becky - sounds like you have had a fab few days!

I'm looking forward to the full trip report from May pretty soon. I keep updating my PTR but hope that when I write my trip report I can take some inspiration from you - you make them so fun to read!!

Sara xx

We did!! Oooh--please let me know when you start your TR!! I'd LOVE to read it!!

Great weekend!! I love Claire's expression in the picture she wanted to take by herself-- too funny! Glad BATB didn't disappoint, sorry the Belle wasn't fantastic. It's funny-- some understudies are wonderful because they have the vocal range to do several different parts (hence, why they understudy!), but others...you get why they didn't get the role!
Ally's "scared" face in the Lotso pic is terrific-- she's such a little performer!

Yeah--Claire has a mind of her own for sure!! And Ally is definitely a performer--she cracks me up!!

Hi Becky!

The pictures of the girls are amazing! I can't believe how much Claire has grown up since I first "met" you. :)

We love TS3 too! I laughed out loud at some parts and cried at others. So well done!

Beauty and the Beast sounds great! And I love the girls' Mrs. Potts pose! Too cute! :cutie:

The picture of Brent with the girls in their red Toy Story shorts is just priceless! You should have that one framed! :thumbsup2

Thank you, Missy!! I know--Claire has really turned from a baby to a little girl sooo fast! :sad1:

The Mrs. Potts pose was Ally's idea and of course Claire does anything Ally does!!

Looks like you all had a fun-filled weekend!:) I used to dress my girls alike too. They don't want to do it anymore, huh? Adorable!

We did!! How old are your girls?! Ally actually ENJOYS dressing like Claire--I wonder how long that will last!! She's almost 6!! :confused3

Great update! Sounds like you had a fun weekend! I loved TS3 and cried like a baby. Hannah patted my arm and said, "why are you sad?" So hard to explain!

BATB sounds like so much fun. Ben and I went to see it before we were married. I would love to take Hannah if it ever gets back this way.

The girls dance pictures are just darling!

Thanks!! Aww!! How sweet for Hannah to be concerned about her mommy!! :lovestruc

I'm right there with ya Trish! I have a 40% off
pin that is just begging to be used, but the Grump won't budge on his 'no Disney trips' rule :sad1:

Becky - it sounds like you had a great weekend! I love the girls dance portraits. :goodvibes

I totally agree with you on Lotso, I just knew he was going to redeem himself and be a good bear at the end, but no, he was just evil! :scared1:

Aww! You got a pin?! I NEVER get pins?! :confused3

Thanks--we really did have a great weekend!!

What a fun weekend Becky, you have such a sweet family :-)

Aww!! Thanks!! :goodvibes

Becky, the dance portaits of the girls are just beautiful! :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a fun weekend---Beauty and the Beast, and a trip to AL. :thumbsup2

BTW, I think I've seen those little metal statues from the Mexican rest. Where were you eating? Was it Rosies?

Thanks Michelle!! No, it wasn't Rosie's. We ate at Cabos San Lucas in Jasper, AL! It was sooo YUMMY!!!

Great update as usual! We loved TS3 as well. I told my DH that I def. want to see it one more time before it leaves theatres. The ending was just perfect. I agree with you about Lotso bear. I was kind of surprised how evil he turned out to be. I guess Disney put him out for the meet and greet because he was the main one but I just think maybe they should have brought out a couple others as well. I wish they would have chosen Barbie and Ken but I wonder if they weren't allowed because they don't own the rights to them? I'm glad you loved B&B. It sounds like you had a great weekend!

Thank you!! Glad you liked it!! Barbie and Ken would have been great!! My girls LOVED them!! Ally wants the dolls for her birthday! I told her that was the way Ken & Barbie looked/dressed when I was a kid!!

yes I really, really loved it... I didn't cry like a baby...but I certiantly got emotional... :sad1: but in a good way too...

I am equally surprised by Lotso...like I said on FB too.

looks like you had a wonderful weekend too :thumbsup2

Oh I just read through the list...and Nathan so knew the garbage guy was Sid...I didn't realize it though...

Wasn't that list cool?! The details that they put into their movies are just AMAZING!! :goodvibes

Cute recital pics! :goodvibes Claire looks like she is really enjoying herself.

I am happy you had a good B&TB experience! Too bad about the under study...if it wasn't the main character of the show, it would not be that bad! I am sure you and Brent are both trained to hear what they are doing wrong.

One of my good friends from high school performed for years in the Hoopty-Do-Review and the Christmas specials (she was a narrator for Twas the Night Before Christmas show!). She then went on to become Belle in the a traveling B&TB show last year!! She is not with the show this year, but we saw it last year in New Orleans and she was amazing!

Looks like a great Father's Day too!! :lovestruc

Thanks Katie!! That is sooo cool about your friend!! What an awesome experience for her! I would have LOVED to have done something like that before I had kids! I loved being on stage! :lovestruc

I'm so happy to see that you got the "Girls Rule" shirt for Ally and Claire!!! It's so cute! I'm a trained singer as well, so I'm sure the girl playing Belle would have upset me a bit too. It's always a bit distracting.

LOVE the portraits of the girls! They are so beautiful. Like you said, the pics of Claire came out so well.

Thanks Meghan! I wouldn't have gone back to look if it weren't for you--THANK YOU!! I didn't know you sang as well!! Awesome! Were you in choir in high school?!

Thanks--their dance teacher's husband takes them--a talented family all around!!

Lovely update!

I had to skim over the TS3 comments - I don't want to know too much about the movie before I see it (just 4 weeks to wait now!) .. but I know it'll be great - but I am a little worried about how much it'll make me cry... I cried soo much in 'Up' last year, even DF cried during that movie and he never usually cries! ;) I think Pixar movies are so clever because they are lovely stories for children but also have deeper meanings for adults/big kids! :cutie:

I saw the touring B&tB musical four years ago and loved it! we had a great Gaston too - I think it's a wonderful role for a broadway character!

Emma princess: x

Thanks Emma!! I didn't give much away about the movie knowing that a lot of people might not have seen it yet. I can't believe it doesn't come out the same time everywhere?! :confused3 I agree about the deeper meanings--it's great b/c it's a movie for all ages--I think Disney does that well--mixing the two!

I love the girls dance photos. It sounds like you had an awesome weekend.

Thanks you!! We had a wonderful weekend!!

What beautiful dance recital pictures of Claire and Ally. I'm always amazed at how well the little girls do at their recitals.

Sounds like you had a busy but wonderful weekend - TS3, Beauty and the Beast and Father's Day with family.:cloud9: I can't wait to see TS3; hopefully this weekend.

Thank you, Dana!! We did have a wonderful weekend!! Did you get to see TS3 yet?! If so, what did you think?!

Aw, thanks so much for asking! Baby Taylor is doing as well as can be expected for being born at 26 weeks. We are very blessed indeed that he is doing so well.

Aww! I'm so glad to hear it!! :goodvibes

wonderful dance photos! I saw them on FB, just too cute for words. Great living room furniture! The dance portraits are fantastic!

Sounds like you had a busy but exciting weekend. :goodvibes

Thank you, Stephanie! We have been sooo busy! And I thought summer was going to be boring--boy was I wrong!!

nice updates!!! I finally got all caught up :)

I have not seen TS3 yet since we were away in Colorado for the week but I'm thinking of going to see it this weekend! My kiddos at school are all talking about that, and how they all go to disney world all the time (haha)! I love the recital pics too :)

Thank you! So did you get to see it yet?!

Love the dance recital pics! They are so cute! The TS pics are cute too. Glad you enjoyed it! I agree with you on Lotso.....looks cute in the DHS pics, but now, after the movie.....can't see him in the same light!

Thanks Ann!! Exactly--definitely cannot view him in the same light!!

You make some VERY good points, MeMom!! Lotso is very deceptive--he certainly had me fooled! Ha ha!! You crack me up!! Well, it will save you some time--that's for sure!! I'm curious to know if Lotso's popularity at HS has been effected by the movie's release!

The girls had a great recital, thanks for asking!! I cant wait to get the DVD!

Sounds like you had a great weekend! I cant wait to take the girls to see Toy Story 3! I think we are going Friday.....

Laura

You're welcome, Laura!! Glad to hear it went well!! So did you get to see TS3?!

Thank you! I totally understand about there not being enough hours in the day!! And my girls are only 5 and 2!!

Your DH really won't go see TS3?! But it was sooo good!!

All caught up!!!! I can not wait to see Toy Story 3!

YAY!! When do you get to see it?!

Wow, we haven't seen TS3 yet, but if it's more emotional than Up! I'm in for some serious crying!

Yes you are!! Be sure and take some tissues!!

The recital pics are great! Both of the girls look adorable as always! :goodvibes

Awww, it sounds like you all had a wonderful father's day weekend! How sweet that Brent got so emotional during TS3! It sounds like the movie was just wonderful - I still need to see it!

Thanks Courtney!! YES!! You need to see TS3 for sure!!!!

I know--Lotso shocked everyone for sure!! If you ever get a chance you NEED to see Beauty and the Beast!! It was wonderful!! :lovestruc

YAY!! When do you get to see it?!

Not sure! We returned back from WDW with a whopping $3.00 left in our checking acct!!!!:lmao: I said, at least we are not negative & we did & bought what we wanted, when we wanted it. And it was a great trip!!!

Where did you get the Jessie "Girls Rule" tshirts? They are so CUTE!!!

I got them at Old Navy!! They have a bunch of Disney shirts!! Only $8!!

Hey Becky!! :thumbsup2

So glad you guys get to go at Christmas time and see all the great decorations and such. You will NOT be disappointed, I promise! :wizard:

One of these days, I will start a PTR for November AND the cruise so I will let you know for sure. :woohoo:

Have a good one!
Katie

Hey Katie!! How have you been?! I've been missing you!! Yes, please let me know when you start your PTR!!!

It certainly wasn't effected when we went there on the 20th! The line wasn't huge, but there was definitely a line!

Oh wow!! Good to know!! :goodvibes
