Morning everyone!!!

My family decided to walk in the Autism Speaks walk in Portland at the end of August!! We're pretty excited to be participating in something that affects our family!! I put some info on my PTR & Jillian already made a donation.....she was the first one!!!!!! :cool1: Thank you, thank you, thank you again!!!!

Any donation amt would be appreciated.......I'm pretty limited on who I can seek donations from!

Meeting 3 sisters this afternoon that are wanting to do some babysitting...so pretty happy to be finding sitters!!! I was concerned I would never be able to get out now that the boys moved out!

Well I just got REALLY bad news on my car. It needs about $5000 in repairs. I SO don't have the money. I'm basically telling them to just put the car back together and hope it doesn't fall apart as I'm driving it.

Yay for babysitters! I never really got into babysitting, I always liked to play with kids and be the 'fun' one, but never liked having to be the one who disciplines them. My sister though, she was the pro babysitter. She loves kids, she now is a counselor for kids with learning disabilities and other special needs. She actually worked with a lot of autistic kids at her previous job.
Hopefully these girls work out as sitters!

Oh no!!! That is not good news at all....

That "Billionaire" song just came one....how fitting!

I have had so many issues with this car. It's a Mercedes so any little thing costs an extreme amount of money to repair. The only thing going for it was it was paid off so I didn't have a car payment.

I'm thinking a car payment on a car with a warranty may be worth it. Unfortunately I doubt I would get any money for it as a trade-in in its current condition.

Hi everyone.

It looks like you were all chatty gals while I was gone yesterday. I needed to drive a friend to Roseville so she could visit her DBIL at the Kaiser hospital there.

It was the strangest Kaiser I have ever been at. We walked into the lobby and they had someone in there playing the harp. They also have a grand piano in the lobby. I have never seen anything like it.

How did she manage to do that???

No idea! My understanding is she went to reach for her and in the process knocked a coffee mug over on top of her. :confused3

 Holy sheep! That's about where my car is at though to be honest, between all the different repairs and maintenance. I'm taking everything one thing at a time and focusing on what absolutely 100% needs to be done before considering anything else. I don't even want to know what the total would be for everything.

Jessica, is your cat okay? And did your sister at least get the scratch she deserved?

The cats fine. I was assured it was cold coffee (because my sister can't clean her room) and my cat flew outta there so fast. She's a run and hide kitty, not a scratch you first and then run and hide kitty. I was just hoping she didn't make herself sick when she went to clean herself since wherever she hid we couldn't get to her. She seems fine now though, lol.

Our Medical Office Building has a grand piano and often has people playing music. Not in the hospital itself though.

Hopefully it wasn't too much coffee... or just black so the cat is not all sticky... creamer will stink lol!

I basically told him just to put the sunroof back in without fixing it as that alone was $1600 and I can live without the sunroof!

The other things he said that needed fixing are some supports that hold the transmission in place and it needs a new battery... so I guess my engine can just fall out?!?!? :scared1:

Oh wow that's crazy. I can't help but wonder if buying a new car and having payments might be better. And less scary.

Yeah... thats actually what we are thinking too... If I can get a low monthly lease it would be cheaper than paying the money to fix this one... I really liked not having a monthly payment though!!

Tell me about it. It's the only reason I was glad my car wasn't gone for good. I really did not want another car payment to stare down every month. Now here I am, looking at what my car needs, taking it back and wishing they had just done away with it the darn thing!!

Why do cars have to be so outrageously expensive to repair? We actually have 3 cars for 2 drivers in our house. We have my old Jeep which has not been moved or started in 10 months! It needs a new engine... We aren't fixing it
We had just fixed the rear differential on it for like $1600 and something else for $500 when we found out the engine was going out.

My husbands vehicle needs a lot of electrical stuff fixed and a new windsheild ($1200 for a windsheild?!?!)

And then mine...

Car payments really are a pain. But honestly I think I would take my car with it's 10 year warranty and payments over one that has risk of it's engine falling out. Sorry to hear that Paula!

It's usually the labor. I remember getting the estimate for the gent on my door and it was well over $1,000 but barely even $100 of it was for actual parts. It's ridiculous.

Eating dinner and catching up on last night's episode of The Franchise. I need to remember to go to sleep early(ish) tonight. Waking up at 4am is getting harder to do when I only have to do it once a week!!
