Sometimes I really don't understand how some people can be so awful. Especially when there is a child involved.

Wow, that is just horrible. For both, but especially for the child. I hope she manages to stay away from him. Glad that Addy doesn't have to be around that!

Thanx Andrea!! I told her to get ahold of the Women's Crisis Center & ask for legal help. They are helping her get a Restraining Order & full custody. If Children's Service does get involved, this will at least show she's making the right decisions for her & her daughter.....by taking the initiative to do this on her own & not waiting for them to advise her to do so. Keeping my fingers crossed that they won't get involved again.....so frustrating for her!

She just called & they're getting the ball rolling with the courts to get the restraining order & then she'll meet with an attorney next week.....thank goodness!

She was gonna wait until Monday to contact them & I told her when she hangs up with me to call them & she did!! She needs to do it while it's very fresh in her mind & she still has the proof on her face for a personal attorney to get pics. If she waited, I'm sure children's services would have been at her door this afternoon.....now she's prepared!

Just watched the shuttle launch on ustream. I'm such a nerd, it gets to me everytime, and the tears well up! I just find it so awesomely-mind-blowingly-amazing.

Got tons to do today. We head down south on Sunday for the Firefighter Olympics, can you say beach and DLR???!!! So exciting. Then tomorrow I have this thing called the Great Urban Race in San Francisco - it's like the Amazing Race! Teams of 2, but my girlfriend and I are partnering up with 2 other teams. I have butterflies! It's way out of my normal comfort zone.

Even if I wasn't at work I would have gone out of my way to avoid the shuttle launch. It kind of freaks me out, lol. But is sounds like you've got a lot of awesome things coming up (hello! DLR) even if they may be out of your comfort zone. Sometimes they turn into the most fun!

Ah! I just glanced down at my ticker...23 days till I leave for DLR??!?! What in the world happened to all that time? I feel like the last time I looked it said 50+ days!
Wow. I am super excited but kinda sad....it's my last fun thing I have planned for the summer. After this I get serious with my job search.

I just submitted my job application for my first 'grown up' job. It's a merchandising coordinator position with Live Nation. The requirements and stuff sound perfect for me right now, so I thought I would give it a shot! Not going to stress over it though, I really am not expecting anything yet. But it would be nice to get a call back

Either way I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I just found out that Addy's bio mom was assaulted by her boyfriend last night!!! I'm just sick about it. He's the father to Addy's half sister, who's 3. He came home drunk (and he's on probation & no supposed to be doing that), started a fight with her & then while she was laying on the bed with the sleeping 3 yr old......punched her in the face. Luckily the neighbor heard the screaming & called the police. The 3 yr old woke up & was freaking out, as was Addy's mom...........makes me so mad that he did that. He's in jail with no bail, as he had an outstanding warrant from his last county of residence.

I advised her to get legal help in obtaining a restraining order & full custody. She just got cleared with children's services & I'm afraid this will bring them back into the picture.....so sad! She's really straightened out her life, but was having a hard time letting the 3yr old's dad go......now she seems to be looking at things differently.

Would appreciate prayers for her & the 3 yr old!!

Sorry I missed these while I was replying to Andreas......(at least I think that's what happened) Thank you both......alcohol can make some people very ugly....and that's the case here. He should NEVER drink.....just a bad situation all the way around.

Yeah, I used to work in a bowling alley and I had a saying that wasn't real polite about alcohol. I won't say it here, I could get in trouble for it. Some people just are going to be that way no matter what.

Just got back from seeing Horrible Bosses! Such a funny movie! One of the funnier ones I've seen in a while. Probably comparable to the first Hangover for me. Kevin Spacey plays an awesome "horrible boss"! I recommend this movie to anyone who likes comedies!

He was great as Bobby Darin in Beyond The Sea, and in The Usual Suspects he was amazing. I cannot think of a role he has been in that he didn't amaze me.

Yes! Usual Suspects was good! Haven't seen that other one though. Now I want to do a Kevin Spacey marathon! We've had Tom Cruise and Nicolas Cage marathons recently. Every now and then we like to pick an actor we love and watch a few of their movies. It's fun.
