I'll be putting photos on my web site when I get around to updating it. I'll post a thread here when I've finished if anyone is interested.

Kevin -

I thoroughly enjoyed your trip report. Your family seems a lot like ours ... we love the place we're in ... Nat'l parks, amusement parks, etc.

I was surprised that you passed up Hearst Castle in San Luis Obispo - it's amazing. Also, the Hollywood Trolley tour from in front of Graumann's is a hoot!!! Another thing we enjoyed was a drive up to Griffith Park and the Observatory (think, Rebel Without a Cause).

Anyway, you did tons, but left plenty for another California visit.

Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for the report - I could relate to much of it as we took a trip to CA this summer and also went to San Francisco and Yosemite. Like you, we were awed by Yosemite, although my knees didn't do so well on all of those up and down hiking experiences. We also had trouble using SF public transit - it's almost like a joke on the tourists there - either wait an hour for the cable car or street car, wait for non-existent buses, or walk up and down lots of hills. We did meet some lovely and helpful people from SF, so that helped a bit.

Unlike you we did not head on to DL, much to the dismay of my DS and DD. This was a Disney-free year, but we're already planning a WDW trip for next summer, so I don't feel too sorry for us. Thanks again for sharing your family's adventures!
