A Vent - The Dry, Flakey Skin Around My Eyes is Driving Me Crazy!

Thanks for everyone's help. :)

Yesterday I went to Wal-Mart and bought some hydro cortisone cream, some Aquaphor, and Wal-Mart brand Cetiphyl. After using all three products for only 24 hours, I see a huge improvement. Perhaps it is as simply using a really good moisturizer, but whatever it is, I feel so much better. And look better too!

Someone who is in medicine told me yesterday that if things don't get better and instead, get worse, to discontinue the hydrocortisone. She said that it would then probably be a fungus infection because fungus feeds off of steroids. Interesting, huh?

Again, thank you all for all of your help and advice!

I actually went to a dermatologist for this very reason. I had dry flaky skin at the corners of my eyes and it was making makeup look really dry and cracked. She gave me Elidel, a cream to put on it. It kind of works. At least it's better than it was. Just a tip though, don't try to use regular face lotion anywhere near your eyes. I made that mistake and ended up with an eye infection and had to use a steroid cream to clear it up. Man, the pharmacy loved me!

Elidel has been linked to increased cases of skin cancer. It is no longer recommend to use for more then a couple days.

As for the escezma--everyone laughs but Head and Shoulders works amazingly well-use it as a lotion, yes it stings a bit, but it works. My boys get eczema off and on and this is the only thing that really does the job for them.
