Here is the vent.....My nephew 17 who is a senior was at a friends house that he has known for several years. He and his friend and some others were outside the house skateboarding in the street at about 8:00 o'clock at night. Well needless to say my nephew JR fell and cracked the back of his head on the curb ( an he was not wearing his helmet! ) Well it is apparent that he was knocked out cold and that he was bleeding profusely from the back of his head. This all happened around 8:00 At 8:20 my sis gets a call from the friends mom telling her JR fell hit his head but he seems ok and he is bleeding a little what would you like me to do? Do you want me to take him to the emergency room or wait for you to get here or should I call 911? Now my sis hears 911 and says what is he doing??? And the mom says well he is a little out of it and he is bleeding. So my sister says right away please just call 911. My sis and BIL are only on the other side of the neighborhood so they jumped in their car and made it to the friends house about the same time as the ambulance where they found my nephew unconcious and a large puddle of blood under his head my Sis said he was almost translucent and his lips were blue! And his friends were all standing around and told the paramedics that it had been at this point, about 40 minutes since he fell!!! The friends mom was no where in site and has not even called to see if he is all right and the whole incident happened last wednesday!Maybe I am crazy but I am a little upset about the way the mom handled this. When my son has friends over they are treated the same as my own children! And my Sis is the same way thank god we havent been faced with anything major but if we did I would have been on the phone with 911 immediatly and my son or some one else would have been on the cell with the mom! I am also requesting prayers for JR he has a fractured skull and lost so much blood they have had to put a stint in his head to help with the swelling and he is floating in and out of a coma :( They feel he will need extensive rehab to re-learn a lot of things:( We are praying he can prove the doctor's wrong he has so much ahead of him he is a smart, athletic young man. Thanks everybody for letting me vent sorry for biegn a downer:( I just needed to let this out.

Your nephew, as well as your whole family, are in my prayers. I can't believe that the mom did that. I know that head injuries tend to bleed alot, but she should have called 911 right away and then get your sister there. At least let the pros determin if he really needs help or not. Please post updates so we know how he is doing.

:grouphug:  I hope that all works out for you annd your family.

Hugs, prayers and PD are on the way...

I can't believe she waited so long to call 911. I will keep him and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hope he does make a full recovery quickly.

Oh!! Bless JR's heart!

This scares me so much... here's hoping he gets stronger and better quickly. (I'd be extremely angry with that mom now...)

Prayers for your nephew. Yes, 911 should have been called ASAP. The 17 year-olds should have known better if the mother didn't. We had a tragedy in our town when the teens drove an injured boy home instead of the hospital and/or calling 911. All kids and parents should know a head injury means get help now.

Oh, my gosh!!!! Those people were idiots!! I can't believe they did nothing to help this young man in need!

Prayers being sent!

A head injury can be so very serious. My prayers are with your nephew, Banshee.

First of all, I just said a prayer for your nephew, I hope he'll be alright.

Second, it would take a lot not to go vent on some heads. That mom and those kids just let him lay there and did nothing. OMG!!!!

My prayers are with your nephew for a complete recovery. How sad, I am so sorry. :(

I hope everything will be alright, sounds like he might have a long road ahead of him, but he's young and strong and I'm sure that's in his favor.

I agree the mom should have called 911 immediately if she knew right away - kids that age sometimes don't realize the urgency or afraid to tell for fear they'll all be in trouble (stupid - I know)....

Keeping him and your family in my prayers.

Sending prayers to your nephew.
I can't believe that mom waited so long to call 911.

Oh my Gosh, That Mother should be shot !! Im sorry that wont help your nephew but she was so wrong to tell you sister he was ok and ot not do something ASAP

You and your family are in my prayers

This almost exact same thing happened to a friend of mine when we were in high school! He was in a coma for 3 days and was back to himself in just a few weeks! He completely healed on his own! I hope for the same for your nephew!
