A Typo?? $.93 a night and 1.13?

TracyK,
How did they contact you? I have ressies for Sept. and have not heard from them.

My Daughter had a September date and she was offered the Sheraton, which the reviews look really good, but they will probably take the delay and go next year between May and December. They are in their early 20's and really wanted to be Downtown Disney. Letters are suppose to start going out this week, we have communicated with Monica for a while now. Very nice lady.

I JUST CALLED YESTERDAY and had a res. agent and CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT tell me the hotel would be open in August.......I knew they had no clue what was going on.

WHY WOULD ANYONE TELL PEOPLE THE WRONG INFO IF THEY DIDNT KNOW......I CANT STAND LAZINESS/INCOMPETENCE. Thanks for posting about the hotel change I will email monica now

I haven't received any word yet that I've been moved for my late September ressies??

I emailed Monica this morning and got the following response this afternoon:
(I had not recieved the letter via email previously.)

Dear Ms. Stone,
Thank you so much for your consideration. We just found out that our hotel will not be opening as scheduled . I am attaching a copy of a letter that was sent to you via mail. Feel free to e-mail back with your decision.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for reserving a room at our hotel. Unfortunately, I must advise you that, despite our best efforts, the Holiday Inn Walt Disney World Resort will not be able to reopen on August 1 as previously announced due to construction delays beyond our control. The hotel now will not open until sometime in the fourth quarter. The good news is that you and your family can still visit Orlando and stay at a wonderful, nearby hotel for the same phenomenal rate.

I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and hope these options will help ensure that you will still have a great Disney World vacation experience:

1. You can visit Orlando on the dates you reserved without changing anything but the hotel. The Sheraton Safari Hotel, which is less than a mile from our hotel site, will honor your reservation (same dates and rate) and provide complimentary, scheduled shuttle service to the park. The Sheraton Safari has an impressive array of resort amenities, including Sheraton's wonderful "heavenly beds, a great game room and the world's largest Python water slide. We've enclosed a hotel brochure so you can see right now what a great hotel it is. For more information on the Sheraton Safari, visit their Web site at www.sheratonsafari.com.
2. We know we were your first choice, and we'd love to have you as our guests, so if your schedule is flexible, you can rebook with us, at your previously confirmed rate, for stays between May 1, 2006 and December 20, 2006, subject to availability. We're as disappointed as you are that unavoidable delays prevent us from hosting you during your originally scheduled trip. Our new Holiday Inn in the Walt Disney World Resort will be among the finest the area has to offer. If you choose to postpone your trip and stay with us next year, we promise to deliver an extraordinary Disney World experience.

To let us know which option you've selected, please call Monica Semaan, our Director of Reservations, at 407.827.4606 or 1.800.223.9930, ext. 74606, or e-mail her at monica.semaan@ihrco.com. Our office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Again, please accept my apologies for any inconvenience our delayed reopening has caused and we'll to do our best to ensure your Orlando vacation is your best ever.

Sincerely,

Glenn Aycock
General Manager

That's the same e-mail I got. Looks like we're all being moved to the Sheraton Safari. I was hoping for one of the DD hotels.

Tracy

Me too, I have 45 night rooms reserved for my youth group. If we get bumped 'offsite', it would be rough on us transporting the kids and add a lot to our budget.

I sure would like to know when their new expected opening date is.

I can't remember if it was Oct 1 or Oct 15th is the new grand opening. If you are shifted to the Sheraton Safari they will provide transportation to the parks, etc.

Does anyone know how these letters will be sent--email or "regular" mail? I am a bit worried because I have not received anything yet....

I don't think they've sent anything out yet. We only know because we contacted them first.

Has anybody else contacted them?

Tracy

I called and talked to Monica and she said the letters had been sent. She also sent me the same letter via email that was posted earlier. She was nice and I didnt have the heart to sound upset as I am paying 8 dollers for a week at the hotel. I haope this all works out

I received a letter last week confirming our stay between Christmas & NY. It states if we don't show our ENTIRE stay payment will be forfeited :rotfl: I'd be really upset to be out 5.56

If anyone has a ressie that they can't use for some reason or another... hubby said I could possibly go again for a discounted rate(sorry I missed the .98!) Anyway... I'd be willing to make an offer... tgr1116@earthlink.net

Just thought you might like to know that my letter came in the mail today with a pamphlet of the Sheraton.

I think we may reschedule for Dec of 2006 and visit the parks at Christmas time.

Ready for flames, but...
Doesn't anyone feel guilty for capitalizing on someone else's mistake???
I am surprised that NO ONE appears to feel this way.

nope none of these people have guilty feelings. they feel since they are ripped off by prices they should do the same. i will be curious to hear how these people enjoy their rooms. keep in mind what goes around comes around

OK, so all the people saying how "wrong" the people are who "took advantage" of this deal...you mean to tell me if you were in the store and something rang up cheaper than it was supposed to, that you would sit and argue with the cashier that it is supposed to be more expensive....I DON'T THINK SO!!! Give me a break...sounds like we have a few green eyed mosters on this thread!!!!! If I would have known about it you better believe I would have booked it, and the only person who is going to judge me ( or the only person I CARE who will judge me) is GOD.

why yes i actually have pointed out errors even in the stores favor because i dont' steal or cheat even if it is a store or company. no one is jealous of your "deal" the people who keep posting about their deal are evil.

ha ha laziness/incompetence? for your .98 cent room? its coming back to haunt you now. who knows maybe you might be put into some dump when you get there. this is the hotel who made the mistake of putting .98 cent rooms in their computer and you are complaining about their incompetence!
