A typical day at CC, what was yours like?

If you want to avoid most of the crowds at the beach.....you must go all the way to the other end of the family beach...past Cookies BBQ, past the water playground, etc. Even later in the day there are good spots there and the concentration of people is much less.

We love this day of our cruise. Breakfast early on the ship, hubbies go off early and get a spot for the rest of us (11 in total for this cruise) usually on the far end of the family beach, its less crowded. Then we use the radios to find them and thats where we stay all day. Never been to the adult beach, never have done excursions, DH snorkeled once w/o me(I was 24 wks pregnant) just spend the day relaxing in the sand watching the kids play. It is wonderful. Can't WAIT!!!!

As an aside...I read that you can get sand toys at castaway cay...but how about on the ship for the other islands-do they either lend sand toys or sell them on the ship or should I bring our own? Have you experienced cruisers with kids packed sand toys in your luggage to bring with you?

We ate brunch on the ship and then headed to the beach. DD's 13, 11, 9, 6 grabbed there floaties and snorkeling gear that we had booked and they spent time in the water (DH and I lounged) Then we went shopping and had our shirts and stuff sent to the ship to be picked up so we did not have to carry them around (great service!) Then we had cookies (yum - miss those cookies) and a drink and then went and got the bikes and did the bicycle trail. Very nice activity to do as a family. Then we stopped at the pavillion that has the pool tables, basketball nets, fooseball and played there for a while. Then we went out and had a family game of beach volleyball. This end of the island was so quiet and had very little people. We then headed back to return the bikes and back to the boat We loved CC>

I can't wait. Now I see why there are cruises with two stops at CC.

I was thinking about the sand toy gift bags from Shirley's for the kids. We have sandtoys here, but it seems like a pain to pack them. Besides, I'd like to have some other surprises in the bag, too. How far in advance do you order the gift packages?

Do they have child seats or child trailers for rent on CC? We want to go for a bike ride but need something for the kids

Let me just give anyone out there some words on the sand toys, we purchased them in the shop on CC they were 12.00 plus and we ended up leaving them on the ship because we had no way to transport them. I don't mind spending money but this is a total rip, Disney should give these out for goodness sake!!!! I love Disney as much as anyone else but as one guest at WDW said if they could charge you for the oxygen they would!!!!!

I think there were some bikes with child seats - can't remember how many. They also have bikes with training wheels on them, depending on the age of your children.

They will loan you sand toys. Check at the kids club area on the island. Or, they will sell them to you if you pefer.

Let's see. Woke up, breakfast, off the ship by about 9:00. DW had her cabana massage at 9:30. I found us some chairs. Sat down. DW came back. Sat down. I remember eating a sammich and staring at the ocean. Realized I was not in my office. Smiled. Man with tray. Something frothy in plastic conch shell.

Went back to the ship about 3:30.

Aaaahhhh....

Now that sounds perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!
